Day 3,681: Strategy
Netflix work is DONE. Whew. A weird thing to type given its a Sunday evening, but that’s only because it was a short week last week and there were still a few things I needed to finish so I could get them uploading. And now, they are. Woot!
I’m listening to a podcast right now as I type this that’s on Formula 1. Season’s over. Last race was this morning. 2023 was the year I kinda got into F1. I wouldn’t say I’m a super fan by any means—there hasn’t been enough competition to really get into i...

Day 3,680: Prompt
So…Wordpress has these daily prompts now, questions to answer for a blog entry. Maybe I’ll start using them. Who knows?
Liz left today. Sigh. Another month+ alone at home for me. Month, really, I guess, since I’ll be done for a week up in Portland to see the fam for Christmas. Cal’s first Christmas, and her first birthday. Can’t wait.
I need to figure out what I can get done before the end of the year. A bit daunted by that, to be honest…but I do have some time to knuckle down and do some ...

Day 3,679: Very Lucky
Man…Casino Royal is soooo goooood.
So, I finished the Brosnan Bond films, and I was surprised, you guys, to discover that I think they’re actually my least favorite Bond films. I know! I’m surprised, too. I really enjoyed them when they were coming out. They were my introduction to Bond. But…and again, I’m astonished to say this…but I think I enjoy the Roger Moore films more overall, and even one of the Timothy Daltons is better than anything Brosnan did. And it’s not Pierce’s fault, by any m...

Day 3,678: Thanks
So very grateful for my friends and family today.
Had dinner at the King’s. Twas wonderful. Joy came, but she was a bit overwhelmed by all the commotion (and the food, mostly—she wanted to EAT everything that fell onto the ground), but we were still very proud of her. Niners won. Watched GBBO with Bear. I even played a set early in the day so I wouldn’t miss playing one. I think I’m on a three or four day streak. I want to keep that going.
Love you all. Thank you for letting me be a part o...

Day 3,677: Snugged
Once again, Joy is pressed up HARD against me. I don’t think it’s just because it’s chilly, because it’s not that chilly at all, really; Coops doesn’t even need his sweater right now. I think…it’s because she loves me. She likes sleeping on papa.
Liz is coming home tonight. Later tonight, but tonight! Can’t wait to see her. And then she’s gone again in a couple days. Sigh. That’s the way it goes when your wife is a globe-trotting actor. It will be nice to see her.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow....

Day 3,676: So Close
Joy is…so…close to my keyboard right now, it’s almost impossible to type. She’s snuggled right up against my hip, pressed in super, SUPER tight. Sweet babe.
Still…floaty. Didn’t hardly get anything done today besides work. Sigh. But, I did DJ. And I did laundry. And I’ve got sweet ass clean sheets to sleep in. Mmmmm.
Night night.

Day 3,675: Corps
A scattered day. Lots of business. But not much done. Sigh. Feeling a little in a funk today. So, it’s early to bed. Gonna try the old get a good night’s sleep and wake up early routine.
Watched Goldeneye, tonight, which I’ve always known as my generation’s introduction to James Bond, is well-regarded and pretty much universally beloved. Well…I haven’t seen it in probably…20 years? I remembered almost nothing about it, but what I do remember is not loving it. I remember thinking it was okay. ...

Day 3,674: Le Quick
It’s already bed time, so it has to be a quick one tonight.
Solid Sunday. Nice nap. Watched some sports ball. Got the work done I needed to. Pups are great. It was windy and cold, which isn’t my favorite weather, but we’re nice and snug in bed now, and it seems like the wind has calmed down. Maybe tomorrow will be nice 🙂
Night night.
Day 3,673: Grand Prix
The Vegas Grand Prix is the first Formula 1 race that I’ve actually watched live, and it did not disappoint! By all accounts, the best race of the year. Max Verstappen legitimately almost lost, entirely on pace. He needed a few things to break his way to pull it out, and they did. So, that was exciting. And beyond that, there was fighting up and down the field. Good fighting. Good racing. Super competitive track. I’ve learned that often with street circuits, they’re so tight that there’s very li...
