Day 3,727: Again
Another quick one. It’s actually PAST bed time.
Liz is helping our friends with a little family thing. Hopefully not too serious. We’ll see. But…just me and the pups tonight. Freezing outside. Windy. We’re cozy and snuggled up inside tho. Ready for a snooze.
Night night.

Day 3,726: A Quick!
It’s already bed time so, alas, it’s going to be a quick entry tonight.
Still struggling with the outline writing. Tomorrow will be a better day, I can feel it. Gonna get up when I’m supposed to. Work was busy. Did some errands to get cat food, check our business P.o. box and grab some different brand of mic stand boom arms. Helped Liz with audition stuff.
A solid day! Night night 🙂

Day 3,725: Buhner
The area I grew up in…it’s so small. It wasn’t when I was a kid. It felt vast back then. But now that I’m older, I really know: it was tiny. Remote, even. Not as remote as some places, of course—though you could be incredibly remote in the area I grew up in. Some people really lived out in the woods all by themselves, so there are areas of my roots that push the edge of “remote.” But, we didn’t. We never lived in town, but we weren’t remote.
Eureka was the city, and guys: Eureka was a town of...

Day 3,724: QUICK!
I’m supposed to be asleep in six minutes, so this is gonna be a quick one.
Didn’t get up on time, but I made my marketing meeting. Owe James an email about it. I got my Netflix work done. Almost finished the finances, budget edition. Took care of the pups. Went Costco shopping. Twas a good day…albeit writing-less. Sigh. A zero day in that regard. We look toward tomorrow!

Day 3,723: Frigid
It is COLD tonight in LA, at least for this town. Lower 40s right right with gusts up to 30ish miles per hour. It’s the wind, always the wind, that really makes it cold. If it were calm out, this would be nothing. But it just cuts right through you. Been windy all night and all day, too. Supposed to last through tonight as well, and be gone around midday tomorrow. At least it’s not super duper dry. I think the wind is coming from the north as opposed to from the East. These aren’t Santa Ana’s, I...

Day 3,722: Active!
I was surprisingly active today. Sigh. In a good way! The sigh is for tiredness. And soreness.
So, I did really good last year with yoga. Like…five months of it, I think? So, when you average that out, almost every other day for an entire year. Nuts. I’m going to continue and improve on that this year. It’s just so good for my body. BUT…no real cardio. Not doing my heart enough. So, the idea came from our France trip to bicycle more.
I’ve wanted to since I got my bike for Christmas a coup...

Day 3,721: Too Much
Not the most focused, productive day, but I got done what I could…and then I scampered off to Josh’s to end my week on the high note I knew it would: we podcasted. First of the year! We looked ahead. Talked about where we wanted to go. I’ve got places I want to go this coming year, both external in terms of projects to start and finish, travel, etc. AND internal places. More self care. More emotional health. More thriving.
It’s going to be a good year. I can tell.
The movie we watched was ...

Day 3,720: Nappo
I was tiiiiiired today. Got my sleep, though, so that’s good! Just not used to the full work routine yet.
I have grown so much, though, man, because here’s the thing: I knew I was going to feel that way. 100%. Not surprised. Not shaken or deterred. I knew I was going to feel tired today. This week. Next week, too. It takes me a bit to gear up, get into the groove, and take off. But, the solution is to just keep getting my ass up, keep showing up, and push through the initial barriers. On the ...

Day 3,719: Bombas
It rained today! It wasn’t supposed to—or, rather it was supposed to, but then they changed the forecast to a nope—but then it did. In the morning, and then again in the late afternoon, right before my evening writing session. Crazy!
Still struggling with how early it gets dark, BUT…I feel like I’ve turned a corner with it. I’ve embraced it, to a certain degree. Or, adjusted. It’s going to be getting dark by the time I finish writing for the day. Just enough time after closing up shop to walk...

Day 3,718: Boom
A really solid day and start to the new (working) year! I handled my shit. Fit like a glove. Familiar. Easy. I am exhausted, but I slipped back into a work rhythm much better than I feared I would.
Started with a full two-hour writing sesh. Going slow and clunky to start, for sure, but came up with some good stuff today. Then, Netflix work, which was light, but occupied my time. Yoga before lunch, then lunch, then back to work. Finished off the day doing a couple tasks I was dreading, but not...
