Day 1,888: New Years Eve Eve

Guy! Happy New Years Eve Eve!

I don’t know why, but that shit is cracking me up right now. Eve Eve. It’s true, though. Tomorrow is New Years Eve. The day after that…2019 is here.

I’m gonna keep this one short tonight, actually, because it’s objectively time to hit the hay. So, here’s a rundown of what I need to do tomorrow, because it’s on my mind:

I need to make my travel and accommodation arrangements for the Story Grid editor certification training.

I need to take some time to ponder 1) my...

Day 1,887: Wiped

What a day today. Holy smokes. I am wiped the fuck out. In a good way!

Got up at a decent time to feed and walk the pups. Then, the Ho and I had breakfast together and started cleaning the house, and bam! It was time to go over to Josh’s for podcasting times.

If you missed it before, we’re starting a new venture called Film School, in which we’re starting off by watching the Top 100 movies of all time as determined by AFI’s industry poll back in 2007 (which was an update of the 1997 list of t...

Day 1,886: VR

Okay. Soooo…

VR is the shit. It’s so much cooler than I thought. It looks so much more real than I thought it would. It’s like stepping into another world. Obviously it’s still digital, so you can tell it’s not REAL real. Like, you’re not going to be mistaking it for the real world or anything…

But what I realized tonight is that’s not actually the point. At all. Of *course* it’s not real. It’s fantasy. And *that* is the point! It looks like stepping into a fantasy world of floating lights an...

Day 1,885: Dun

The finances are done. Praise be!

It took me a good four or five hours today, but they’re done. All categorized except for a final work-through and error check.

It’s always a bit slower for me to work straight from the laptop with the trackpad and inability to switch between windows…but I still got it done. We also went down into Burlingame and turned in Liz’s dad’s phone for some Apple Store credit. He’s going to buy the new AirPods when they come out.

Ps- I got to listen to the Bose headpho...

Day 1,884: Just a thought

I had the thought today that I should do something different with the nightly blog. I’m not sure what exactly, but something different in 2019. Format? Subject? Or maybe even that I’ll just try to share my blog post each night.

I’m not sure. Just a thought. A desire to try something new? It’s certainly not dissatisfaction with the current format or process. No, I think I’ll probably stick with this for years to come…just a thought.

I definitely want to grow in 2019. I’m trying not to look to...

Day 1,883: Christmas Day

I had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas Day today. Truly. One of the best in memory.

I also miss my family. They’re spread across the country right now. My parents are by themselves up in NorCal. I have brothers in Chicago and New York. I’m here in San Fran with my own family of Liz, Cooper and Coco, along with my father in law Lin.

We were able to open presents together all of us except my brother in New York. With Scott and my parents, we did it through FaceTime. There’s a new feature where...

Day 1,882: Smush

Coco is such a little smush right now. She’s been rather attached to me lately because Liz has been out of “town.” “Town” tonight means the other bedroom (for logistical reasons, not anything else

Day 1,881: The Drive

Oh my lord. So much driving today. Let’s see…how many miles is it actually from Portland to San Fran?

*leaving to check*

*returning with facts*

658 miles. In 10 hours. Whew!

I listened to the Dubs beat the Clippers. That was fun. My reception actually lasted long enough to listen to the whole game. I listened to several Story Grid podcast episodes. Those were great. And I listened to about half of a (short) book on “Finishing.”

I feel like I’ve always been pretty decent at finishing things, t...

Day 1,880: late

It’s late you guys.

I went to a holiday get-together at Scott and Addie’s house and had a wonderful time getting to know them, hearing about their inter-work gossip, playing heads-up, and having amazing delicious food.

Beyond that, Scott and I got to hang out for pretty much the entire day, which was amazing, with a wonderful amount of Addie time too.

Great day.

Super tired, and driving tomorrow so…good night. I’ll catch everyone on the flip!

Day 1,879: A Twist

There was a twist today in our holiday plans.

Liz had to fly out of town to handle some biz, so I’m up here with the pups now. We took it pretty easy today after the morning rush. Napped. Played some MarioKart. Got some food from the grocery store.

But, it ended as most days have here up in Portland: hanging out with Scott and Addie. We just kinda talked tonight, and hung out. Discussed everything from why we sleep, to depression and anxiety. Love talking to my brother about those things, and...
