Day 2,387: Scifi Salad

I did a thing. I did a thing!

We got the green screen I ordered like two months ago in finally. Its dope. Its just a sheet, really, in a bright green color. And I set it up next to the DJ setup, and I played some Star Trek (Spocks Brain, as a matter of fact) in the background using the green screen while I played.

It. Was. DOPE. Easily one of the best ideas Ive had in a long time. I love it. Its so cool. I think it was all the people using Zoom backgrounds that gave me the idea.

If I ever...

Day 2,386: You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby

Reflective day today.

Part of that was that Josh and recorded our Cutting Room Floor for next week, but it started much earlier. I was tired today. A little hard to focus early on, though I found my groove later in the day. I was just tired. Normal tired from a good week of work.

So, maybe it was the tired, but I used my blog to look back at where Ive been on this day over the past six years. Last year I was just finishing up my Story Grid certification materials. The year before that, I was...

Day 2,384: Oh, Cinnamon

Liz played two sets today on the DJ controller. I played one. Lotta haus musik up in the crib tonight.

Its so fun. Like so so sooo so so fun. The combination of how far things have advanced controller-wise and being able to stream any kind of music that I want through the Beatport subscription is literally game-changing. Its amazing.

Liz and I just spent like ten minutes talking about how awesome it is to play

Day 2,383: Badge of Office

Coco is snuggled riiiight up against me right now. Precious loaf.

Today was yet another solid day of work. Wrote my two pages, and they were good pages, too. Likely to be edited heavily, but thats to be expected.

Work was light today on the Netflix side of things, so I was able to crank out some TG1T stuff, which was ever so satisfying. I launched the STLV episodes today. Theyll go live throughout the week, and then on Monday next week, Season 4 will start dropping. Finally. FINALLY. After...

Day 2,382: Deep House

Okay, so Deep House is the fracking shiiiiit.

I grabbed a bunch of it yesterday. Tracks I thought might be cool, but I never really know until I get on the old ones and twos and mix them all together. Wellit was easily the easiest set Ive done blind. No question. The vibes were kind of all over the place, of coursebut it worked. Out of the box. It kept it all from getting stale or too repetitive.

I should have recorded it

Day 2,382: Sat

I had an angsty day today. Not really sure why, but I did. Blech. Gonna get a nice long sleep though and see how I feel tomorrow.

I got a lot done though. Found some great music; I spend most of the day crate diving, going through Beatport for a bunch of new music. I discovered Bass House, which is really fun. Played for a little bit, too, towards the evening and before bed.

Took a bunch of stuff down to the garage to hold for giveaway and to throw in the recycling. Made a container for our...

Day 2,381: Bits of Chaos

My iPad is running on fumes right now, yo. 11% battery life!

Today was another really, really solid day. I got my Netflix work done. I finished listening through the STLV TG1T audio with the exception of the very last episode. Still have to go through and execute my edit notes, but then that project is ready to schedule for posting.

I am really, really proud of how these episodes turned out. Likebig time. Theyre a level of podcasting I havent done before. WE havent done before, Josh and I, in...

Day 2,380: Quick One

Have to do a quick one tonight because its bed time.

Great day today. Very productive. The TG1T work is coming along very nicely. I have a few episodes from our trip to STLV that are fully ready to go, and I think I might be able to have the rest done tomorrow. Coming soon! With convention floor audio and all the polish and shine of the rest of our episodes!

Day 2,379: The Sweet Spot

Its a hard place to find in life, the sweet spot where youre not holding on too tight so as to strangle the joy out of everything, and too loose so as to not be putting in the time necessary to finish something.

I swing between both of those extremes quite often, or at least it feels like it. I swing because of anxiety and fear and all the other dark stuff that holds me back.

But the sweet spot is neither of those extremes. It is balance. And clarity. And calm confidence.

I feel closer to...
