Day 2,428: Jump Street

Long days.

Still adjusting to waking up a half hour earlier. Crikey. But, damn, do I love having a full hour of writing in the morning. It’s soooo goooood.

Work was a little less busy today, but still pretty hectic. Getting a new project up off the ground. But, it’s going well so far. Writing is going well. Playing music today was super fun, too. Liz and I played together. Then we watched 21 Jump Street which we haven’t seen for a while. I pulled clips from it today for work and it made me...

Day 2,427: Sold!

I sold my workout equipment today. I never used it.

It was a Bowflex adjustable weight set, plus a collapsible bench I bought that I also never used. The dumbbells went up to 90lbs each. Way more than I’d ever use.

I struggled for a long time with working out. I just couldn’t stay consistent with it. I’m not struggling now, and the difference is pretty clear: it stuck this time because I focused on just creating a habit. I have no fitness “goal,” at least in terms of my body. I do have goa...

“The Survivor” (Star Trek: The Animated Series S1 Ep6)

A shifting squid-man is loose on the Enterprise, we lament how often we’re stuck on the ship in the show thus far, Josh realizes he’s digging Arex, and Josh and Ira cast the Animated Series crew as superheroes with superpowers and a group catch-phrase.

Day 2,426: Laundry and a Posting

Did a couple productive things today: I did the laundry for our clothes (forgot to do the bedding until it was too late to let it soak the requisite amount of time in OxyClean, damnit), and I posted these free-weights that I’ve never really used on craigslist.

We have so much stuff in this house, things we’ve accumulated over the last near-decade (!!) that we’ve lived here. I want to get rid of what I don’t use, which is most of it. And these weights are expeeeeennnsssiiivvveee. Hoping to get...

Day 2,425: Another Late One

Blech. It’s another late entry. I just didn’t feel like going to bed earlier!

I watched old basketball. The 2019 Finals. Warriors vs Raptors. It ended in heartbreak…but damn. With Klay in the lineup, it would have been down to the wire. At the very least, the Dubs were the better team heading into the 4th quarter of game 6. I would have been tough to win on the road in game 7, for sure, but we were UP by 5 points when Klay left the game.

It really is the old adage: the team that can stay h...

Day 2,424: Can I Get A Hey

I

Am

WIPED

OUT.

Crazy work day. Writing was great, then so much work. Work work work. Deadlines were all moved up. Things were added. It wasn’t super stressful, though. I knew I was going to get finished what I needed to.

And then, I took a nap, walked the pups, and Liz and I played music for over two hours together. It was awesome. Simply awesome.

It’s time for sleep, though. More tomorrow

Day 2,423: Crazy Day

Today was crazy busy.

Gonna have to make the entry suuuuper quick tonight because it’s already past bed time.

Writing was solid, even if I did have to skip my afternoon sesh because of ‘Flix work. Morning was great, so was the nighttime just now. Flix work was solid, too. I’m busy, which I like more than being slow.

Podcasted with J.

Played a little music. Watched a little (replay) ball.

Sleep now.

Day 2,422: Consistency

Consistency is key.

There are always ups and downs, man. Today was…fine, actually. Middle of the road. I will say this: I was tired. More tired than normal. So I wasn’t productive at all, really, in any of my “extra” endeavors. I did the bare minimum.

I even decided to rest today on my workouts, (save from doing a two-minute plank!) because one of my shoulders has been sore for the past week and I want to make sure that doesn’t turn into an actual injury.

But, that’s where consistency c...

Day 2,421: Maintaining and Letting Go

I’m maintaining, y’all. We’re feeling a bit beaten down lately here at the Ho-Heinichen household. A bit burned out. Nevertheless…I’m maintaining.

There are aspects, many aspects, of my life right now that I very much enjoy. I love working from home. I’ve been writing great stuff. Genuinely. I even woke up early yesterday. Not today, because Coops decided to bark at something in the middle of the night and I had to get up and see if someone had broken into our house. It was nothing. Little ra...

Day 2,420: Lalala

Played a fun set today. It was from my “dance” playlist which simply means I took most of the tracks from the Dance top 100, which is kind of a catch-all for anything that’s made for radio play.

I like listening to bits and pieces of my set while I do my nighttime writing and these blog entries. It does make me write about them a lot more, though
