Day 2,369: A Great Day

I had a great day today.

I felt like me again. And I think it was as simple as having a very specific, very doable goal for my writing this morning, which I exceeded, and thatman. It really set the tone.

I was focused with my work after that. Did my reading in the late afternoon. Walked the dogs, and then I was done. Work was over. I felt really, really accomplished.

Such a simple fix. Huge result.

We watched Civil War tonight, continuing our Marvel Cinematic Universe rewatch. Its sooooo...

Day 2,370: Mission Accomplished

I had a mission today. Well, now that I think about it, I actually had TWO missions today

My first was quite simply to organize my to-do list that I felt was kinda weighing on my shoulders unresolved for the past couple weeks. Id written it down in my Notes app, but had yet to transfer it over into my task app I use, OmniFocus. So, I did that.

With that came the resolve to vacuum and mop the whole house. Its not really mopping since we have laminates and use a swiffer wet jet instead, but...

Day 2,369: Crushing the Curve

Was just discussing with Liz how New Zealand is the place to be right now. Theyre re-opening their economy because they were able to get the virus under control so quickly. Certainly, they were a bit lucky, but also certainly its because they acted with precision and swiftness. Thats good leadership.

Theres so much money in our politics. Our government doesnt work for us. They work for the money. Its an entirely different system filled with entirely different people. I honestly dont know how...

Day 2,368: Solid

Solid day.

Work was a success. Got a lot done.

I figured out how to fix my computers iCloud sync issue.

Walked the pups with Liz in the evening, then we watched Ant-man as we ate dinner. Underrated movie. Not perfect, but super solid.

DJd for an hour and got some great music in there.

Solid writing session this morning! First chapter is nearly done.

Did some listening to my live exploratory mix and some editing of tracks. I have the beginnings of a good set! Techno is home base for me. Its...

Day 2,367: Up and Down

I had an up and down day today.

It started a bit down. I was sitting in my office realizing that I hadnt sent off this thing I bought and was returning yet, and it was really stressing me out.

I had this vendor ship me something that was supposed to be brand new, but it arrived with packing tape over where the factory seal wasor was supposed to be, and when I removed the packing tape, I could see it was actually an open box, AND taking the tape off damaged the box in the processso thats why I...

Day 2,366: Filled Up

I always feel recharged after podcasting. Filled up.

Its exhausting, dont get me wrong. But, exhausted isnt the same as depleted. Not at all. Sometimes when were our most tired is when we filled the most filled or inspired or just content.

Writing was good today. I was able to drop in and just do it. Im almost done with this particular scene, then I move onto the next. Im afraid they both need some editing and rewriting, but goddamn if I dont think I can totally do that.

AnywayLiz played a...

Day 2,365: Baby House

Im listening to a little house mix I did before bed tonight.

I love house. I didnt really love it before when I DJd. I do now. I dont knowIve gotten less picky, I guess. More open to anything, particularly given that were paying a flat rate right now for all the music we play, and that means not agonizing over what tracks will or wont make the cut. I can play anything.

Heres a link to the mix, if you feel so inclined: https://soundcloud.com/twoguysonetrek......

Day 2,364: Increments

I had a very constructive, motivating thought this morning.

All because I did 80 push-ups and sit-ups this morning.

I did 50 in a row, then 30 more in a row. Doing that would have inconceivable to me just a few months ago, at the start of the year. But, I did it this morning almost like it was nothing. Almost.

So, how did I do that?

Incremental increases. I add one more each day, five days a week. Three on adding one more pushup and sit-up each day, one day off, and then two more days adding...

Day 2,363: Intensity Plus

Life is intense right now.

Intense in the way that my life feels turned upside down. I have to imagine that ALL our lives feel like that right now. Its certainly true for me. My routine has been totally destroyed, and that always makes me feel lost for a while.

I even forgot to write this entry last night!

I got sucked into filling out my writing journal, something Id been unconsciously avoiding because its rather depressing how much of it I cant fill in with color because Ive missed so many...
