Day 2,950: Tis the Season
We watched our first Christmas movie of the year for the ‘cast tonight, Josh and I. It’s starting to feel like the holidays.
We’re home. So much to do before the year ends. But, I think I’m going to let that all start on Monday. I need a day tomorrow. Hopefully I get it. We’ll see.
Building was a shit show. Big water leak. Thankfully nothing horrible happened, but water everywhere and the fix is in a tough place. So, that was fun. Mostly for Liz, which I appreciate so much how hard she wor...
Day 2,951: Furniture Fasteners
We have a piece of furniture that’s missing its bolts to put it together and it is the WORST. Apparently the bolts aren’t “bolts,” which is one of the reasons why we’re having a hard time figuring out where to get replacements. They’re called “furniture fasteners”
Eye roll.
I know we’ll find what we need. Either through just going through our own stuff, contacting West Elm who made the table, or finding a generic replacement out there somewhere.
Had a great therapy session today. I talk...

Day 2,950: My Fingers
Posting this one a day late. Somehow last night, probs because I got home so late and Liz was already asleep…I never wrote or posted this entry.
It was a goodbye day, a travel day, a nap day and then a podcasting evening.
The building was a beast. Major leak up on the top floor. Uuugghh. Liz definitely had the worst of it, though. I got to go see Josh instead and record our second-to-last episode of the year. We watched Love Actually, which is very well-intentioned and mostly sweet…but als...

Day 2,949: Rest
Black Friday is probably not a day of rest for most. Obvs today is known for crazy deals and shopping and the kicking off of the holiday season, but for me, this day has usually just meant “rest.”
And leftovers.
Delicious delicious leftovers.
I have it so good y’all. Liz makes SUCH good Thanksgiving food. The best I’ve ever had, to be honest, top to bottom. Turkey. Stuffing. Mash. Gravy. Veg. It’s all soooo gooood.
Watched the Warriors beat the Blazers. They took control early and ne...

Day 2,948: Thanks
I am thankful for my family and my friends.
I don’t think those words quite encapsulate just how much I mean that.
I am thankful for my health and theirs. That’s really the only thing that matters. Or, maybe not the only thing…certainly not the only thing, I suppose…but damn. It’s a big one.
It’s so nice up here in Visalia, visiting with Joe and Madhuri and Ashika. Liz and Joe made amazing food. I cleaned. Ashika was a cutie. Madhuri slept. We all ate. It was perfect.
Coco jumped off...

Day 2,947: Turk
Quick one tonight bc it’s laaate…but we’re up in Visalia for turkey day tomorrow.
Coco next to me. Window open, because it’s nice and cold outside. Bear on the other side. Ready to sleep. We’ve got ourselves a meal to make tomorrow.
Night night.

Day 2,946: It’s Working
Worked me arse off today. But! all in the service of being free and clear to head out of town tomorrow to see Joe and Madhuri and Ashika for Thanksgiving. Oooohhhh it’s going to be so nice to see them.
We were also going to see my mom and dad, since they’re at Bear Clover working on the property there right now, and that’s only about an hour away, BUT…
Propane leak. Dad’s working on it. Can’t get away. That JUST happened this evening, so. Boo. But, we get to see them in just a couple weeks...

Day 2,945: Lickies
Coco has the major lickies tonight. Lick lick lick lick lick.
My book released today. It’s available over on Amazon if you search for “Ira Heinichen.” It’s called Glory. No reviews yet. But we sold around 100 copies, apparently. Not bad for a start.
This one is definitely going to be a slow build. Have to get the other couple books out to really give it some juice to take off. In that regard…need to get working.
Night night.

Day 2,944: Social Calendar
My social calendar today was PACKED.
Got to see and hang out with Siobhan and Evi. We did drinks and dim sum out in Pasadena, and it was delightful. Therapy was also delightful. Got to watch the Warriors beat the Raports, or most of it, anyway, and worked on some 20Books Vegas stuff.
I have a TON of videos to go through and name properly. Doable, but will take a little while. Just hope everything is there, and so far, it is. Whew!
Want to get up on time. Need to go to sleep on time. And...

Day 2,943: Jungle Cruise
Coco smells like the Jungle Cruise tonight.
She did physical therapy today, and got onto the water treadmill! Great success. She actually handled it like a champ. Wasn’t afraid of it at all. Had a great time walking for treats. And then she even tolerated laser therapy and a massage, too. I think a big part of it was that we fed her before we left, so she wasn’t crazy.
Coco is making a full recovery. She still has a little way to go with building her strength back up, and we’re never going...
