Day 2,932: Tide
I. Am. WIPED.
But, today was a good day, y’all. There were definitely bumps in the road, but nothing fatal, and most of it not anything to do with our team in terms of not being prepared. The AV Club was BRILLIANT. I’m so happy with all of them.
Tomorrow should be even smoother, lawd willin.
I’m to bed. I’m so tired. Night night.

Day 2,931: Run!
I ran around all day today. BUT…I did that so I wouldn’t have to tomorrow. At least in theory, because there WILL be running around tomorrow. Hopefully just for the morning.
This conference is MASSIVE. It’s a huge, huge job. Might be too big of a job for me next year. We’ll see. Maybe everything going off without a hitch come tomorrow will make me want to keep doing it. WE. SHALL. SEE.
For now…sleep. A full night’s thank lawd.

Day 2,930: Vegas, Baby
Today was one of those days where EVERYTHING took twice as long as I thought it would.
Some of that was my fault for underestimating. Much of it, however, was due to outside forces. It happens.
Now it’s 3am and I have an early-ish morning, so it’s sleep time. Vegas, baby
Day 2,929: Pack…
Got all the hardware packed up for the conference. Still working on some of the other minutiae…but lawd willin…I’ll be out of town tomorrow on time. Still got a shit ton of stuff to do!
Wish me luck.
It’s 1:30am. Time for sleeeeeep.

Day 2,928: Prep
In the midst of prepping for this Vegas conference. It’s A LOT. I am so looking forward to it this year, however.
I say “however” because last year was COVID, and it really stressed me out that we were going to do the conference. We didn’t. Thankfully. The State of Nevada stepped in and took care of that for everyone’s safety, and our conference director—who’d put up the front money to make it happen—didn’t get hit with any lost funds.
It was “however” the year before, too, though. I was t...
Day 2,927: Penultimate
Josh and I watched the second-to-last film for the AFI Top 100 list tonight/this morning (seeing as it’s currently just past 2am).
It’s not actually movie #2 on the list. That’s The Godfather, which we watched last week, but we skipped Part 2 further down on the list because that wouldn’t make sense to watch before the first one. So…tonight we watched movie #32 on the list, but next week: movie #1
We’ll have watched the entire list. Crazy. It hasn’t sunk in. I plotted out how long it would...

Day 2,926: Makin the bed
Coco makes her bed each night. And by “make” I really mean “f*cks up” because man, she goes to TOWN digging at her blanket. Most often, it’s a bunched up mess afterwards, and then she sleeps on the side of it 😂
I usually fix it for her though. And when it’s cold, I wrap her up so she’s nice and cozy. She likes that.
Another kinda hectic day. A little more settled. I want a good day tomorrow, too, so I’m going to keep this entry short tonight so I can get up on time tomorrow.
Night night...

Day 2,925: So Close!
So close to finishing so much. So. Close.
I remembered something today that I forgot to fix in my book. Of course. Still time to get it in, thank lawd. Will do that tomorrow.
Work was unexpectedly busy today. But, that was actually nice because it had been so slow so far this week. Billable hours, yo!
Major progress made on the big project. Pups are healthy. Conference is just around the corner. Life is GOOD.
Night night.

Day 2,924: Mildly Productive
Liz and I started watching Midnight Mass tonight, finally, the day after spooky season ends. Better late than never! Pretty sure we’ve figured out what’s going on just over one episode in.
That kind of thing doesn’t bother me, actually, so long as the thing I’ve figured out is fun, which I think this one is. And especially when there are several ways said figured-out-thing can be executed or explained.
I was productive today. Mildly. It was a chill-er day. I want tomorrow to rock, so it’s ...

Day 2,923: DONE
The book is done. Like, DONE done.
I finished my “soup to nuts” rewrite/edit pass, as my co-writer would call it. I tweaked a lot of stuff. Filled in gaps. Made sure it was consistent. Made sense. I tightened some scenes that weren’t working as well as I knew they could. Even changed the background of a character and the way they talked.
It was exhausting, to be completely honest, and I’m sitting here terrified that I missed stuff…which I most certainly did. Hopefully none of it is too hor...
