Day 2,940: Eight Years

Man…it was my eight year anniversary of writing these blog entries everyday a couple weeks ago. October…29th, I think? Over two weeks ago! And I totally missed it. I think part of that is I’m so close to 3,000 days. And I was finishing a novel that week. And preparing for the conference.

Me eight years ago would be so proud of all those things. I was in a really tough spot back then. Broke. Struggling in every sense of the word. Realizing I was done with acting and that I wanted to write, but...

Day 2,939: Beat Down

The Warriors put the beat-down on the Nets tonight.

Hell-mutha-effen -yeah. We’re back. Dubs are good this year. Still not quite sure they’re actually CONTENDER status, but we’re *good*. Just need to stay healthy, knock on wood. If we can do that, we’ll be in the mix, I think.

Racking up wins in the regular season is one thing; doing the same in the playoffs is another, for sure. But, we’re 12-2. We just beat a team that should also be a contender. And not just “beat.” We destroyed them. R...

Day 2,938: DTF

Din.

Tai.

FUNG.

It’s the best goddamn food in the entire world. Those soup dumplings are literally a gift from the gods.

That’s where we had dinner tonight. Got to hang with Nina and Amir. Twas glorious. And we ate SO MUCH food. Uuuuugggghhhh.

Started to sort of unpack all the AV equipment from Vegas. Good lord there’s a lot of it. Some of the stuff I know I don’t need to keep, so I’m going to see if I can return (and also didn’t have time to get reimbursed for). Other stuff…I kno...

Day 2,937: Rüfüs

Maaaaannn…

Tonight was awesome. We went down to south central, Banc of California Stadium (which is right next to USC, the LA Coliseum, and the whole museum complex, and we saw Rüfüs Du Sol who were AMAZING.

Honestly one of my favorite concerts ever. The music, the venue, the visuals were all top notch. Company was epic, too; went with Stephen and Thida. It was so, so, so so so fun.

Day was solid, too. Therapy was great. Pups were great. Had a nice solid nap. Shipped out the final eBook...

Day 2,936: Aaaahhhhh

It’s so, soooo good to be home.

Got to spend some QT with bear and the pups today. We watched GBBO, some of the Warriors game last night. Walked Cooper and Coco. It was warm. We stayed cool inside. And took an EPIC nap. I even got some Glory stuff over to Craig. Last minute tweaks to a couple scenes and added some track-able links to the front and back matter.

A great day.

Feeling a bit out of it, for sure. Lots to do. SO much. We’re going to a concert tomorrow night. Big project stuff....

Day 2,935: Zome Zagain

I am HOME!

Decided to drive home rather than stay in Vegas one more night, and lemme tell you…it was the right decision. I am SO GLAD to be home. My bed is the best. My dogs are the best. The Bear is the best.

Got to listen to the Warriors win on the radio. Listened to some podcasts. Did some thinking and brainstorming for my next book. It was wonderful.

Day 2,934: Release

The conference is (basically) over.

Over 200 sessions and panels. All recorded and streamed by my AV team. We didn’t miss a single one. I could be more proud of my team, more fortunate to have had such an incredible collection of volunteers, all of whom went above and beyond, and the vast majority of which had never volunteered before.

Incredible.

I am wiiiiiiped out. Flat out exhausted.

Had a great dinner tonight with Scott and Bianca. Talked to the bear. Miss home.

Day 2,933: Groovin

We hit a stride today as an AV Team. It was glorious to see. Whew!

Tomorrow should be more of the same, and then just like that, the conference is over. There’s a nice long author signing event on Friday, and then we’re done. Crazy.

And then, a week from then basically, my book with Craig is out. I hope people like it. I think they will.

What a crazy, crazy end to the year, guys. More crazy than I’ve really been able to share (all good things!)…but the sharing will happen soon. Soon. SO...

Day 2,932: Tide

I. Am. WIPED.

But, today was a good day, y’all. There were definitely bumps in the road, but nothing fatal, and most of it not anything to do with our team in terms of not being prepared. The AV Club was BRILLIANT. I’m so happy with all of them.

Tomorrow should be even smoother, lawd willin.

I’m to bed. I’m so tired. Night night.

Day 2,931: Run!

I ran around all day today. BUT…I did that so I wouldn’t have to tomorrow. At least in theory, because there WILL be running around tomorrow. Hopefully just for the morning.

This conference is MASSIVE. It’s a huge, huge job. Might be too big of a job for me next year. We’ll see. Maybe everything going off without a hitch come tomorrow will make me want to keep doing it. WE. SHALL. SEE.

For now…sleep. A full night’s thank lawd.
