Day 2,873: Good Story

A truly wonderful day up home.

We went down to Humboldt Redwoods State park and walked around, had a picnic…we didn’t get to go over quite to the place I wanted to, but we’re going to go back on Monday I think. Something like that. We’ll see.

Then we took a nap at home, went and saw the sunset, and ate dinner over at Eel River Brewery. Then we grabbed blankets and sat out under the stars and argued over whether the brightest spot in the night sky was Neptune or Jupiter.

It was Jupiter. ...

Day 2,872: Hum

I’m home. And outside sleeping in a trailer! It’s very, very appropriate because my teenage bedroom was actually outside in an old airstream.

I loved it, to be clear. I loved having my own space out there. I had a double desk, one on each side of the trailer, and I could roll back and forth between them. Computer on one, and I’d do my homework on the other. The only thing about the trailer bedroom that was a bummer was that it had no insulation and the heater would go out when…it got too cold...

Day 2,871: Hi Geoff

Ohhhh boy howdy…another really reeaalllyyy long day, but THIS day was special: I finished all my shit.

All of it!

Done!

And that’s when the exhaustion feels so good.

Going out of town tomorrow for my birthday. Gonna see the fam. Pups have been laundered and they are oh so fluffy and soft for Stephen and Thida to watch them.

Podcast is ready to go. Netflix work is all done. And with a recovery day or two…I’m going to finish my gottdamn book. Whew.

I am blissfully exhausted tonig...

Day 2,870: Sixteen Hours

Good LORD today has been a long day. And it’s not quite over yet.

Sixteen hours on this project. That’s even me taking out two hours for meals and picking up Liz from the airport.

Liz is home, by the way 🙂 Ahhhhh that feels so nice. What also feels nice is that I have ALL MY CLIPS. I ripped through FOUR TITLES today. Legend status. I’m freaking wiped.

They’re exporting right now, and then I just need to set the uploads to finish overnight. Tomorrow…spreadsheet them and hope they’re able...

Day 2,869: Not Enough

I didn’t get enough done today. Blerg.

Tomorrow’s it. I have to get it all done. Four titles. Wish. Me. Luck. It’ll probably take me 16 hours. That’s what I’m guessing.

Bear comes home tomorrow. Huzzah.

Night night.

Day 2,868: Seven Years

I got married to Liz seven years ago.

It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. Happy Anniversary, Bear. I love you so much.

We’re apart this year. She’s up in Portland visiting her sister and father, and I . . . worked today. Worked my ass off. I pulled 15 hours today, all-told. I did sneak a 20-minute nap in there, and the last couple hours were getting the podcast up (late!)

But, I rocked my shit today. I put myself to finish my project on time. Thank lawd. I’m going to have to ...

Day 2,867: Where Joy Meets Persistence

Man…I was just cleaning up (finally) after podcasting the other night with Josh and picking up our tracking sheet, the print-out that we did for the AFI’s top 100 list, and it’s a little mind-blowing that we’re just about to finish the damn thing.

100 movies.

Three years of our lives.

And it’s almost over. We’re *this* close to finishing. Eight movies left, I think. And it really is a testament to where persistence and joy intersect each other. We wouldn’t be where we are without both o...

Day 2,866: Witness

We watched Schindler’s List tonight which is a long, HARD watch…but damn. That movie is pretty spectacular top to bottom. I remember being very impressed with it back when I saw it for the first time and it’s still impressive now.

Off kilter today, to be sure. Need to find my kilter tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Day 2,865: It Happened

It’s been a loooonng time since this happened last…but I spaced writing a blog entry last night!

So, good morning!

It was…oh boy, it was a long night last night. There was an emergency in my building with another tenant. I’m a building manager, if you didn’t know, so such emergencies in other apartments involve me. Everyone’s okay! Thankfully. It was intense, though. And happened around 2am, so it disrupted my sleep cycle pretty majorly.

Bit of a basket case this morning. But…we shall p...

Day 2,864: Another Email

I don’t have much for y’all these days.

Coming to bed dooogggg tired. Working my booty off with the Netflix work. Any time I have a project that requires clip pulls, it’s always a lot of work. They just take TIME.

Digging into a show to find clips is not a repeatable task with easy-to-define time limits. It really is “watch until you find some good stuff.” So, it varies. I spent a half day finding 20 great clips for one show, and I’m going to probably spend a day and a half or even two ful...
