Day 2,967: Cozy

It is very, very important to me that my dogs are cozy.

It’s cold for LA tonight. Like, maybe down into the 30s cold. That’s cold! Even for where I grew up, it rarely dipped below freezing. Not that it’s going to hit freezing here tonight, but still. Even in Ferndale, low 40s-high 30s was cold.

I do not want my pups to be cold. They’re currently wrapped up nice and warm in a mess of blankets, and I am satisfied. They will be cozy.

You think dogs ever watch us make our bed and are like “...

Day 2,966: Sushi Train

Early to bed, early to rise.

I’m wiped out y’all. But, you know what? I’m finding the groove. I was in it this morning. Wasn’t sweating the process, just sat down and worked on my outline. Put in a full two hours. Felt really, really good. I feel very confident that the story is moving in the right direction. Lots to figure out, for sure, but it feels close.

It’s gonna be a fun book. Really fun.

We went and ate sushi tonight at a place that serves it on a conveyor belt. I can’t think of...

Day 2,965: Brevity

For the soul of wit, I shall be brief tonight. …and also to get my ass up on time tomorrow morning and continue cranking on this outline 🙂

It was a non-stop Sunday today right up until the very end. We bought something large all the way down at the ReStore in Bellflower, and when we showed up to get it, we realized that even Arg’s SUV was too small to carry it home for us. So, that meant a trip to the U-Haul down the street, and twice the number of trips we’d planned.

I’m wiped. Took all d...

Day 2,964: The Flesh and the Fantasies

Tom Cruise? No. Jungle Cruise.

Coco rocked her physical therapy today, and now she smells like recycled water. Aka the Jungle Cruise. We’re very happy with ourselves for coming up with that 🙂

Coco is doing amazing. Physical therapy definitely wipes her out, but she’s ready for more the next morning. She’s a maniac.

Right now we’re appreciating the songwriting of Jim Steinberg. He’s the guy the wrote (mostly) for Meatloaf. Apparently, Meatloaf was PISSED when Celine Dion got “It’s All Co...

Day 2,963: Cold!

It is chilly af tonight for LA. It might even get down into the 30s tonight.

Pups are bundled. We’re ready to ride it out.

Solid work day today. I got done everything I wanted to, almost! Barreling toward the end of the year. Woohoo!

Great podcast sesh with Josh, too. Answered some patreon questions. Got us all set up for our AFI starter pack. Last recording session of the year. Crazy.

Night night

Day 2,962: Oops

Totally misunderstood instructions today and ruined someone’s present 😂 uuuggghhh. Not the end of the world.

Today was…bleh. It’s been the theme of the past two months. I get stuff done, but not that much. Not as much as I could. I really want to do something about that. I have so much stuff to finish…that’s probably why. I know I have so much to do, it’s overwhelming.

So, here’s a goal for tomorrow then, a set of them:

Writing session in the morning.

Take care of the pups and eat by...

Day 2,961: Breakin

I had a breakthrough today on my Glory Book 2 outlining. I figured out what my macguffin was, and viola, suddenly I can see the plot of the book. It’s dope. Fun. Exciting. I’ll enjoy writing it. All good things, and honestly, it’s the breakthrough I’ve been waiting for these past couple weeks of toiling away on this outline.

Whew!

Still got it.

I wonder if I’m going to feel like this every time…that every time I start a new book, I’ll be afraid that I won’t figure the story out? Might j...

Day 2,960: Is Good

Life is good right now. Very good. Thank god.

Life had been rough for a little bit. I suppose not too rough. Things were rough in a way that were largely completely out of our control and mostly had to do with things that didn’t directly or immediately impact us, or they were stressors that were fixable or impermanent. That is to say, nobody was sick or dying…except when Coco gave us a scare twice earlier this year.

But, nonetheless, life had been stressful. I was having a hard time saying...
