Day 2,977: Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone who celebrates Christmas!

We kept with a stalwart Heinichen family tradition tonight and drank Five Farm irish cream (so delish) and watched TV. Usually it’s a movie, and we were going to watch Shang-Chi, but we ended up watching several more episode of Grand Designs instead…and that was the right decision. That show is SO GOOD. Day 2,976: Eve Eve

On this day before Christmas Eve, Liz and I ran a bunch of errands in the rain.

It rained ALL DAY here in LA. Things are going to be nice and green and crisp tomorrow when it stops and the sun comes back out. So very much looking forward to it.

So weird to be away from family. Yet again. It is nice to be home, for sure, to be able to run these errands, work in the finances, our big project, be with the pups, my own bed. But, I do miss fam. Hope they’re all doing well.

Day 2,975: Grand Designs

I’m not sure when last we were watching Grand Designs…might have been around this time last year…might have been this summer or spring (feels like it might be the latter)…but it feels like the PERFECT holiday show for us to watch. It’s cozy, it’s exciting and makes us cringe and laugh and empathize and say wow every time.

Day 2,974: Ice Bear

You guys, We Bare Bears is soooo gooood. It’s on HBO Max. The cutest, funniest cartoon ever. Panda, Ice Bear and Grizz for life.

Also watched Free Solo which was inspired by us watching The Alpinist a couple days ago. It was also very well done. Free Solo definitely had the superior film crew and budget, etc. I think the story of Marc-Andre was more intense, however. Both highly recommended. Day 2,793: The Rush

There is nothing better than discovering a new artist and going through their catalogue of work and loving everything they’ve done. I have hours of music to listen to! It’s why this entry is so late. I got sucked in.

Great work day. Decent writing session. Tomorrow, I dive in on my scene-by-scene. Last day of work-work of the year! Coco continues to be the perfect pup.

Life is good. Unpredictable, but good.

Day 2,972: Cocomon

I took it easy today. First day in a while I’ve actually been able to do that. I needed it! I ended taking a two-hour nap in the afternoon! I was tired.

It’s chilly. Christmas is close. Pups are in snuggly little sweaters. Coco is doing great. She’s normal. Strong. Wants to run everywhere. Do everything at 100. There is no chill for Coco, which kinda funny since she snuggles and sleep so much, but I guess that’s what I mean: even sleeping and being snuggly she does at 100. Total commitment. N...

Day 2,971: Tip Well

Played TENNIS today with Thilde Bear. We had a grand old time. And we got boba afterwards in K-Town. Liz came along. It was awesome.

She’s such a cute kid, you guys. She was super talkative and super excited to play. She just watched King Richard recently and played tennis in PE this year, so she was all jazzed and inspired. And she’s such a natural jock. Her hand-eye coordination is great. We were able to rally several times back and forth. And the weather was perfect. It was super fun.

Day 2,970: Clients

Had a genuinely wonderful evening over at Liz’s manager’s new apartment over in WeHo. He DECKED IT OUT. Jered loves Christmas, and his pad was like a Macy’s catalogue page. I was impressed. And it was a lot of fun to see everyone and hang out.

Work was busy today. Not bad busy at all, but finishing-energy busy. Which is always exhausting.

Day 2,968: Steady Boys

Had a really solid writing session today. The outline is getting there! Still not quite, but it’s getting there. I’m very very close. I think. Sometimes these “close” parts of figuring out the story can drag…but at the very least I’ve found consistency again. I’m back in the creating groove after a November that really mussed up my stuff.
