I remember writing a paper in my Creative Writing class that my teacher said was horrible. I thought it was great and I felt crushed. I went back and read it. Turns out he was right. He commended me though for trying to branch out and do something different. After that I wrote another paper and then my book. Find what you are good at, keep at it and don't quit.(less)

It's just finding the time to research the things I want to be in the sequel and then writing it. Currently I'm active in my church, spending time with family and working so there is not a lot of time in a day.(less)

Rodentivity
by Eugene T. Wilson (Goodreads Author)

Wilson provides an excellent book on purpose and the busyness of life. He coins the term "rodentivity" for busyness. When we are chasing things such as material goods and money, we are a hamster or rodent on a wheel. Instead, we should find our purpo ...more

Another excellent book by Eugene Wilson. This book focuses on growing people, not churches. Arguably, the same mindset could be applied to business. Leaders try to grow the business, but if they focused on people, the growth of the business would ult ...more

I was a little disappointed with this book. The title is somewhat misleading. While humble leadership is mentioned, most of the book deals with group dynamics and relationships. The reader must draw from the numerous examples to see the implications ...more

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule.”

The Uses of Idolatry by William T. Cavanaugh

Idolatry can sometimes be viewed as archaic and associated with statues or poles. However, idolatry is still relevant and goes beyond mere objects. It is a heart issue that Cavanaugh does a thorough examination of. The book is a highly academic read, ...more

Humilitas provides a historical look at humility coupled with excellent insights. Dickson provides both background on humility as well as examples. However, one of the weak points is Dickson's rabbit-trailing before bringing the subject matter back i ...more

Humility by C.J. Mahaney

Mahaney does an excellent job covering humility, mainly through a Christian lens. This is one of the better books I have read on the subject. The book is broken into three sections. In the first, humility and pride are contrasted. The second section ...more
