January 21st 2018 Update
Hello, everyone! So, tomorrow Marin’s Codex goes live! I’m excited for the release, not the least because this makes five novels that I’ve released in barely over a year. That’s completely overwhelming to me, and thank you, those of you who’ve been following me for this long.
I’ve already commissioned the audiobook of Marin’s Codex from Sarah Goer, the same narrator who did Born a Queen, and we expect to have it done and (Audible permitting) live by mid-to-late March. With the range of voices...

Timelines, Maps, and Future Plans
So, it’s been a while since I did a mid-week update. In fact, I don’t dare check how long it might have been… months at least. Anyway, with Marin’s Codex coming out next Monday, I thought it would be good to put up a rough timeline of when things occurred in the Ancient Dreams setting, so I did so Here. It isn’t anything too fancy, and there are minor spoilers in it, so be warned if you haven’t read the books.
I still need to get an updated map for Ancient Dreams put together, as I’ve learned...

January 14th, 2018 Update
This past week I sent the edited copy of Marin’s Codex to the editor, and I’m expecting it back tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. After reviewing it I’ll be uploading it for the release on the 22nd, as planned. I also sent out the book to a handful of ARC readers, and you can see a couple of reviews are live so far on the Amazon page. They’ve been positive so far, which makes me hopeful.
I also sat down and plotted out further books in the Lilith’s Shadow series this past week, in part so I...

January 7th Update
So, this past week I’ve been performing the final edit of Marin’s Codex on my end. I’m almost done, and assuming I don’t dawdle, I’ll finish the edit today and send it to the editor. There isn’t much to say on it at the moment, simply because I’m so close to done with it.
Other things are also coming to a close tomorrow. Those on my mailing list have tonight to finish signing up to possibly join the ARC team, I sent out the links to it last Monday, and the drawing for the Born a Queen Audiobo...

December 31st Update
So, it’s the end of 2017. This has been one insane year for me, and thank you all for the support. Tomorrow I begin the final editing pass of Marin’s Codex before it goes to the editor, and I’m also going to be sending out the Prologue of the story via my newsletter. I’d send out more, but I want the later chapters edited more thoroughly first.
I hope everyone has an awesome New Years, if you celebrate such. For myself, I’ll be visiting family and trying to enjoy myself.
Not much else to say,...

Born a Queen Audiobook is Live!
The audiobook of Born a Queen is live! I’ll note that as normal, it takes a day or two for it to go live in the iTunes store. Links to Amazon and Audible below. Also, please let me know what you think of Sarah, the narrator, as I quite liked how distinct the different character voices were.

December 24th Update
Marin’s Codex is in the hands of the Beta Reader team, which I hope to have feedback from by the end of the year. This will allow me to make the final editing pass on the book before sending it off to the editor. I’m happy that it’s coming along so well, but no matter how firmly I try to avoid it, I worry that people won’t enjoy it. We’ll see when it does, though.
I’m out of town visiting family, so this update is a bit short, but I hope everyone is doing well, and wish you happy holidays, as...

December 17th Update
This past week I finished the first revision of Marin’s Codex, and it has been sent to my handful of Alpha Readers for their reviews and to get feedback on what needs to be changed. I expect to get feedback by Thursday, at which point I’ll start on the second draft. However, next week I’ll be out of town, so my Sunday update will be written by Friday, just so everyone knows!
In further news, I received the audio files for Born a Queen this past week, and set things up for them to be sent to A...

December 10th Update
The first draft of Marin’s Codex is complete, at a hair over 102,000 words. Today I’ll be starting through it again to expand a couple of areas that I know need additional content, to flesh out a secondary character, and to try to make sure the story is good. At the same time, one of my Alpha Readers is going through it and giving his opinions. Once I have it revised, I’m going to be sending it to other Alpha Readers for feedback.
I expect the ‘review and edit’ process to take me about three...

December 3rd Update
So, Marin’s Codex is at about 78,000 words in length, though at the time of this writing I’m preparing to do more. For the record, I generally write up these blog posts late Saturday night so that they can go out early.
This has been a weird situation. When I began Marin’s Codex, I intended it to be about 30,000-40,000 words in length, or a novella to short novel. That isn’t happening, obviously, but it just fascinates me that it happened. It’s a slow, winding plot, in a lot of ways, showing...
