June 23rd 2019 Update
So, Hell’s Ascendant is up to a hair over 100,000 words, and tomorrow is 2 weeks from the release of Mortal Gods. The audio version of Mortal Gods is complete and approved on my end, so with any luck, Audible permitting, it’ll come out at pretty much the same time as the ebook.

June 16th 2019 Update
Alright, so this week this post better go up on schedule… I hope I schedule it right anyway. But in any case, I managed to get some extra writing done, so Hell’s Ascendant is up to about 87,500 words! I doubt I’m going to finish the book this coming week, but I’m currently expecting it to come in shorter than the other two. Hopefully I’ll have the rough draft done before Mortal Gods is published, but I can’t make any promises, unfortunately. The book takes as long as it takes.

June 9th 2019 Update
Alright, I got back into the swing of things this week, and Hell’s Ascendant is up to 72,500 words! I’m hoping to have the rough draft done by the end of the month, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen, with everyone who’s coming into town, my anniversary, and other things coming up.

June 2nd 2019 Update
First off, the audiobook of Heaven’s Fallen is out! You can find the links below.
Amazon Audible iTunesNow for news that isn’t quite as good. This past week was not good for writing, so Hell’s Ascendant is only at a bit over 60,000 words. I’m not going to go into details, but it was a combination of writer’s block and medical worries, though the latter wasn’t regarding me.
I am happy to be working on it, I should add, but I suspect that I’m just nervous about trying to tie up the trilogy....

May 26th 2019 Update
As I expected, I got less done this week than I hoped. Hell’s Ascendant is up to 52,500 words, as I lost a couple of days of writing due to getting new air conditioning installed. On the other hand, it means that the temperature this summer should be far more tolerable, which is good!

Princess Phynis Art
A couple of weeks ago I decided to ask June Jenssen which of my characters she’d like to paint, and in her response she gave a couple of ideas. One of them was Phynis, and I decided to pay for the painting, since Phynis hasn’t gotten as much attention as Sistina has, on the whole. Since a few readers have asked what the slave brands look like, I did ask her to make sure it was visible, but otherwise left the piece entirely to her.

May 19th 2019 Update
Hell’s Ascendant is up to ~45,000 words, and coming along well. I’m unsure of the exact length it’ll be, but it might be shorter than the other books, as I tend not to want to draw out action scenes. Overall I’m in good spirits regarding it, and the art for the cover is coming along nicely! I’m also going to have some interruptions this week, as we’re getting a new air conditioning system installed, so my writing might fall short of the usual numbers this next week.

May 12th 2019 Update
Hell’s Ascendant is up to 32,500 words, and is proving a little harder to write than either of the previous two books of the trilogy, though I suspect that’s because I’ve been pushing myself hard so far this year. I’ve already decided to take a couple of weeks off after I finish the book, since I haven’t taken a full week off in… I’m honestly not sure how long. I’d have to go through my updates to figure it out, but I don’t feel like doing that right now.
Either way, the book is coming along...

May 5th 2019 Update
Hell’s Ascendant is up to 20,000 words, so it’s coming along reasonably well after a rocky start. Switching gears definitely messed with my productivity, but I’m doing better at this point, and hoping I can get ti done in time for an editing date in July. I’ve also ordered cover art for Hell’s Ascendant, and am looking forward to sharing it with everyone!

April 28th 2019 Update
Mortal Gods is at the editor, and as soon as I get it back it’s going to the narrator to be turned into an audiobook, so it’ll be ready for the July release date easily.
I’ve also begun Hell’s Ascendant, and it’s at about 7,500 words. I’ll be honest, this one makes me nervous… the sheer scale of things is enough to make me wonder if I can pull it off, since it’s going to be even more explosive than Halls of Power.
