January 6th 2019 Update
So, I got hit by a bit of a bug with Heaven’s Fallen, and I’ve gotten up to about 88,000 words on it. I might finish the rough draft this coming week, but I’m not sure. As for The Obsidian Palace, it’s currently with the editor and, I believe, starting the editing process today.
I haven’t gotten as much reviewing of Ancient Dreams done as I’d like, considering this with Heaven’s Fallen, but I’m still working my way through it. I have some interesting thoughts for the plot, more than I had bef...

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, everyone! Thank you all for the wonderful 2018, and here’s to hoping that 2019 is even better!

December 30th 2018 Update
There’s not much time left in 2018, and I don’t have a ton to update, since I’m waiting on the editor for The Obsidian Palace. That said, looking back on this year, it’s been a little insane for me. I put out Marin’s Codex, Down with the Queen, the Ancient Dreams Omnibus, The Avatar’s Flames, and Queen of Ice. If I exclude the omnibus (which did take a fair amount of my time), that’s four books, and each of them are fairly sizable.
Even if I ignore all of those, I’ve done a lot of other work...

S&S Short Story: A Christmas Date
This short story is set well after A Date Gone Awry, and follows the lives of Chris and Janice further down the line. I did this story a bit spontaneously since it was near Christmas. I hope you enjoy it, and that most of you have happy holidays!
A Christmas Date“This is a terrible idea.” Chris said in resignation, pulling on a glove. Despite knowing that the material was durable for its thickness and would protect him pretty well, Chris felt quite vulnerable as he put it on.
“Don’t be a bab...

December 23rd 2018 Update
I finished editing The Obsidian Palace this past week and sent it off to the editor. He’s busy (or on vacation) until January, so the book isn’t coming out early, alas. It should be out before the audiobook of Queen of Ice, as a matter of fact. Oh, and yes, Queen of Ice should be out by sometime in February, but dates can always slip. Hopefully it’ll be sooner than later! I have started re-reading the Ancient Dreams saga for Crisis of Faith, so that’s progress there.
This week is Christmas, s...

December 16th 2018 Update
Since I have several weeks before the editor can get to The Obsidian Palace, I’ve been taking the last stage of editing slow. I’m over halfway done, and expect to finish this week, even with an expected interruption tomorrow.
Heaven’s Fallen is coming along slowly, as I expected it to. I’m only doing a fifth of my standard amount each day, but I may finish the rough draft sometime in January, but I’m not holding my breath on it. I lost my motivation to write it once already, and I don’t want...

Calendar of Senkar
On Sunday I mentioned that I was going to go over the calendar of Through the Fire, and possibly some other stuff. I’m going to start with the calendar, and we’ll see where things go from there.
In the world of Senkar, the months are based on a lunar calendar, one similar to our own, but not identical. In the real world, a lunar cycle is a bit over 29 days, just for reference. In Senkar a full lunar cycle is exactly 28 days, and they have 13 months (or 14 if you count Midwinter Night, but mor...

December 9th 2018 Update
The Obsidian Palace has been read my Alpha readers. Overall, the reactions to it have been extremely favorable, though there are a few points that need polish, which makes me happy. That means I’ll be starting the next stage of the editing process this week.
With things there at an ebb, I’ve managed to start writing on Heaven’s Fallen on the side again, which is useful considering I’m sharing the draft with my Patreon a chapter at a time. I’ve also been quietly churning through my plans for C...

December 2nd 2018 Update
I finished the rough draft of The Obsidian Palace on Friday, and the book came to just under 119,000 words in total, though with the summary and character list it’s likely closer to 117,000 words. The length of my books often grows somewhat during the editing process, which begins tomorrow, so I expect that the story will end up a little longer, or possibly more if my Alpha readers think I need to expound on a couple of sections I’m debating on.
In all, my attempt to write every day in Novemb...
