LMB in Humble Bundle e-book II

Aha, this is now up...

http://www.humblebundle.com/

On sale for just two weeks. The site will explain all.

This is something of an experiment from my point of view. A special thanks to John Scalzi, who was in their first e-book bundle last year, for generously sharing his professional experiences with me when I was mulling this.

(And let me know how the experience goes from the readers' side!)

Ta, L.

Oh, and they gave me a widget. I don't seem to be able to make it come up here, but you can see it on their page, so. I'll try again later.

Amazing Stories interviews LMB

Amazing (founded by Hugo Gernsback) is now a website, no longer a paper magazine, but the memory and the name live on.

Interview here:

Sidelines again

Nothing going on today, so I shall practice posting images again so I don't forget how, and do a little least-effort e-book promotion.

My cover person at Spectrum was kind enough to devise this little ad for me when I was about to go out to BayCon last month. Waste not.

I also have an interesting series of our preliminary e-cover treatments for the new UK e-Chalion, which might be fun to post sometime. The whole progression would take up a lot of space, though; we went back and forth for several days.

2007 LMB interview in retrospect

I wandered across this old 2007 interview this morning...

http://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/2007/1...

It's always a curious experience for me to read these, like looking over old letters from my past self. Particularly when I don't especially remember writing them.

Not that 6 years is all that long ago, in my perspective.

sharing

Video review of the covers of my books. Pretty hilarious, actually.

...People are reviewing books by making little vids, now? Shows how far behind the curve I am...

...although my luck with packaging does assure that my audience consists entirely of independent-minded people who don't judge books by their covers, which is not all bad.

LMB on the radio this weekend

I have agreed to be part of a radio interview Saturday night (actually, Sunday morning...)

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2...

I have no idea what I'm letting myself in for, not ever having listened to this show, but it's bound to be a learning experience one way or another. Anyway, Larry, Joe, and Paul are all in it with me, so how bad can it be...?

new Kindle preview download feature

New cool thing I just noticed on Amazon -- which may have been lurking there unobserved by me for who knows how long --

They will send a sample of the book you are contemplating for you to read directly on your Kindle. I would presume this is much the same as the "Read Inside" feature, but instead of reading off your computer screen, you can decamp with your device to somewhere more comfortable.

Very clever. I approve of anything that helps books sell on content instead of (or at least, in addition to) packaging.

It's in a box over on the right-hand side, just below the buy-with-a-click box, ferex:

Audio Ivan on sale

Downpour.com -- which is Blackstone Audiobooks direct-sales branch -- seems to have Captain Vorpatril's Alliance on sale at the moment --

http://www.downpour.com/captain-vorpa...

"Downpour Deals", they are calling it. Pretty good deal, sounds like.
