some older Bujold foreign-language titles for sale
So...
It is now possible to mail-order via Hugo's some of my older foreign-language editions and select old Easton Press leather-bound editions. Market price for the latter. These will not be listed in Hugo's regular catalog.
For now, the price for foreign paperbacks is set at at $10, trade paperbacks and those things that no one seems to have a name for with the art melded onto stiff covers at $15, and hardcovers at $20.
All signed, personalized by request, and arriving to no set schedule but not fast. The method would be to e-mail Hugo's with your wish list of languages and titles, which they would forward to me, I'd check availability and they'd email back with titles actually available and final prices. Postage charges added by Hugo's depending on the order.

Stocks are utterly random, but if you don't ask, you won't know. While supplies last.

speaking of SubPress
The pre-order page for "Knife Children" just went up. Due out in February 2020.
https://subterraneanpress.com/knife-c...
You can only see half of the gorgeous wrap art in this scan. Artist Ryan Pancoast was a new name to me, but he did an amazing job capturing in-spec versions of Barr and Lily. I tend to shy away from cover art ideas that attempt to portray the characters, because it has so often gone awry in the past, but this time it worked. I hope that Pancoast eventually puts the full painting up on his website where I can link it.

(I have a scan of the full original image, but I'm told until the lettering goes on, converting it to an advertisement that the writer is free to wave about, it is up to the artist how it is deployed and where.)

Flowers of Vashnoi is shipping
I received my author's copies of "The Flowers of Vashnoi" Wednesday, and Uncle Hugo's got theirs yesterday. This afternoon, Hugo's owner Don Blyly brought out a carton of the trade version for me to sign for in-store and mail order. Dreamhaven Books and Comics here in Minneapolis should also have signed copies by next week.
Subterranean Press offers two morphs of the books, the so-called trade edition, a regular (if very pretty) hardcover in a pale green cloth binding (under the dust jacket), plain white end papers, no bound-in signature, for $25, and an edition limited to 400 copies bound in dark green leather, with paler green brocade end papers and a decorative signature page signed by yours truly a few months ago on my very own dining room table, for $45.
The copies of the trade edition I signed for Hugo's and will sign in due course for Dreamhaven are signed on the title page.
Please note that, since "The Flowers of Vashnoi" is only about a 23,000-word novella, this makes for a very slim vol. Though quite choice.
Wrap art:

I will be doing an in-store signing for the book, and any others of mine lying about, at Uncle Hugo's on Saturday August 10 at 1 PM.
http://www.unclehugo.com/prod/index.s...
Hugo's routinely carried most of my regular books already signed, in-store or ready for mail order

The Orphans of Raspay spoiler discussion space
...and typo reportage zone, but I trust you all won't find too many of those.
As with prior outings, I here provide a space in the comments for folks who have already read the story to chat about it with each other. The spoiler-sensitive are duly warned.
Note: These novellas don't get much push from me beyond a few blog and chat-space posts, so getting the word out is pretty much up to their readers. Amazon always gets plenty of reviews, so appropriate mentions and reviews out-and-about elsewhere on the Net extend the reach more. Do please pass the word, if you are so moved.
It's now up on all three vendors,
https://books.apple.com/us/book/the-o...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VFPQ711
https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-...
In related news, Subterranean Press will be doing a nice hardcover chapbook as before, probably next summer. (They still have to chew through "The Flowers of Vashnoi", due out in less than two weeks now, and "Knife Children", this coming winter.)
No news to report yet on an audio edition, but I will post if/when there is some.

Cover art and design by Ron Miller.
Ta, L.
Later: nice placement!
Scroll down to Sci Fi & Fantasy...
https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/b...
Ta and thanks, L.
Later still: It made it to #45 in the Kindle store today! (7/25.) I'm pleased if a new book breaks into three figures in the sales rankings, really chuffed if it breaks into two. Ephemeral fun, but Amazon's sales bots reward a high placement by spreading mention out more, setting up a positive feedback loop for a time.
