Open Copy
This is probably one of the biggest challenges of Life: keeping your heart open through the extremes. No one is immune to the highs and lows of the human experience. From the ecstasy to the agony, the joy to the grief, the love to the loss. We can’t bypass the difficult parts of being human if we want to truly experience the bliss. And if you close your heart off to the grief, you won’t be able to fully experience the joy.
The rose teaches us this, season after season. She knows that if She doesn’t surrender to each of the seasons, come summer She won’t be able to bloom. Birth teaches us this too. The safer the mother feels, the more she can open.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
Living and dying with your heart open is truly a courageous act, as a life well lived is full of losses and tragedies as well as great love, triumphs, and adventures. When we’re going through difficult times, when we most want to separate, the healing is often found in connection not separation. When we close our heart and shut down because the pain is too much, we often find ourselves more separate than before. The rose shows us how to open to the world, no matter what the day brings.
This card is here to encourage you to say yes to life, to expand through the extremes, and to put your two feet wholly and completely in.

How can you say ‘yes’ to life?

My secret to Living a Soul-Led Life
I want to share with you my secret to living a soul-led life. It took me 20 years to figure it out, but it’s actually really simple and I’m going to share it with you now. I call it The Three Steps to Living A Soul Led Life and it’s how I now live my life every single day.
Over the past decade I have worked on creating a way of living which taps into the wisdom of the soul and the intelligence of life, and then grounds it with daily action.
I do the three steps every day and it takes no more than 15 minutes. I wish I knew about them earlier in my life!
The biggest shift in my life happened when I committed to showing up to listen to and act on the whispers of my soul with consistent regular rhythm and that’s what the three steps are all about.
The three steps are:STEP 1: Connect with your soul through a soulful practice.STEP 2. Receive the call of your soul through a practice like Soul Inquiry.STEP 3. Act on the whispers of your soul by taking a baby step in that direction.
Let’s start with what the word ‘soul’ actually means to me. The soul is the ancient part of us that chose to be here in this life, in this body, on this planet, at this time. It is connected to the same intelligent pulse of life that tells the flowers when to bloom and the seasons when to come and go. It is the part of us that is wise beyond our years and is always calling us towards our most aligned life.
The soul speaks in whispers, dreams, visions, feelings, longings and yearnings. If we want to live a soul-led life we need to develop a relationship with our soul and invite it to step forward and lead us.
Once you have developed a deeper relationship with your soul you may find that you are able to be in constant communication with it. That your mind, body and soul are in a constant dance. Showing up to the three steps each day will deepen your connection with your soul and support you through all of the seasons of your life.
The three steps don’t just connect you with your soul and your intuition. They take it two steps further by inviting your mind and body to be put to work, led by your soul.
Step 1: CONNECT WITH YOUR SOUL
Step 1 is all about showing up to a non-negotiable daily practice. This could be anything from meditation to chanting, from dancing to walking in nature, from reading poetry to journaling. Anything that invites your soul to step forward and your mind to step aside.
You know you have made a connection with your soul when you feel time stretch and expand. You drop into the centre of your heart and have an increased capacity to listen and feel to the voice within, otherwise known as your intuition.
Your daily practice doesn’t have to take an hour, ten minutes is great. Consistency is the key. Select the amount of time that you know you can show up to with rhythm. When I decided to show up to an unbroken daily practice, my life began to transform. It’s the best decision I ever made.
Step 2: RECEIVE THE CALL
As I mentioned earlier, the soul speaks to us subtly – it does not shout, it whispers and speaks to us in feelings and knowings and visions. I have found that providing a structure to receive a message from your soul is one of the most powerful things you can do. Each day we are bombarded with messages from outside of ourselves, when we take the time to tune in and receive a message from our soul we are tapping into the intelligence of life and when we do this it feels incredible.
The structure that I use is Soul Inquiry. Soul Inquiry is simply put, a dialogue with your soul. You ask simple open questions to allow your soul to step forward and speak. One of the Soul Inquiry prompts I use the most is ‘My soul is calling me to….’
I recommend doing the Soul Inquiry Process by writing down your answers. You can fill an entire page or you can write one sentence. When you are writing, trust what comes and try not to overthink it. Begin writing before you know what you are writing. Let your soul, guide your hand.
Just like any relationship, the more time you spend listening to your soul, the deeper the relationship gets and the easier it is to differentiate between the voice of your head and the voice of your soul.
Step 3: ACT ON THE CALLAll of the intuition in world is pointless unless we act on it. And that’s what step 3 is all about. Receiving intuition is one thing, acting on it is completely different.
Sometimes when we hear the voice of our soul it doesn’t always make sense and sometimes it can feel out of reach. For example, I remember when I kept hearing my soul tell me to write books, but I had no idea how to do that. And that’s where step 3 comes in…
The key to Step 3 is that it is not a great leap, it is a baby step. It’s something you can do today in direction of the call. So the baby step for me, when I was receiving the guidance to write a book was not to write the first chapter, it was to write for 10 minutes that day.
As I was committed to doing the three steps…. Connecting to my soul through spiritual practice, listening to the call through soul inquiry and taking action, day after day I showed up for my writing – eventually, I had a book outline, then a proposal, then a publishing deal, and finally a book.
Don’t underestimate the power of step 3. Taking baby steps in the direction of the call will transform your life. You will move from receiving guidance to living a guided life. When you are living a guided life, you find yourself in flow with life. It also feels really good showing up and completing the baby step each day.
Listening and acting on the calls of our soul is not a one-time thing, it is a way of life. It requires that we prioritise the connection, trust the guidance we receive and act on it each and every day.
So that’s my secret to living a soul-led life!

The Rose Garden
You’re holy and whole. You’re innocent and innately good. You’re wholly welcome here. You never got kicked out of the garden. None of us did. This card delivers a message of welcomeness. Of returning to our innocence.
If you feel as if you’ve done something wrong without knowing what you’ve done, if you feel ashamed about hurting someone, if you’re finding it hard to forgive yourself, this card is gently calling you to release any shame, judgement, or bad feelings. To do what you need to do to let go and make amends. To remember that you’re human. And as a human you’re here to learn and grow. And so is everyone else.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
You’re not broken. You never were. You’re a work in progress. We all are. You’re learning and unlearning. We all are. Be gentle with yourself and in turn be gentle with others. Return to your humanity. Your humanness. Remember that you were never perfect and being human isn’t about perfection. Grow and learn – but do it softly. You have goodness in you. Remember that. Cherish that. And cherish that in others too.
We’re all doing the best we can. When we learn, we can choose to do something new. Commit to learning and doing better each and every day. This is what it means to be human. To embrace our humanness. Without it we deny the shadow, and it’s through facing the shadow without defense that we can learn and grow. Embrace your humanity and you’ll find it easier to embrace others and the whole world.

How can you be more gentle with yourself?

Mother Rose
A sacred symbol of the feminine, the rose has been here much longer than us. In times ancient, garlands of roses were placed around statues of Mother Goddesses in worship of Her. We’re all Her children. She connects and unites us all. If we trace Her roots far enough, maybe we’ll find our way back to each other.
We’re living in a time of great division, learning, and unlearning. We’re together mending the thread of humanity. This is a card of returning to union by facing what’s been broken, separated, and severed. To realize that we’re all human and while harm has been done, what’s needed now is for us to acknowledge what’s happened and endeavor to find a way to return to each other. To realize that it’s possible for two people to have a different experience at the same time and that both can be true.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
Mother Rose longs for humanity to drop our defenses and reach out to each other with deep honesty and compassion. To face and untangle the sadness, anger, and hurt from our hearts with the help of Her grace. To dig our roots deep until we find common ground.
Which relationships are difficult for you now? Who has hurt you? How can you soften and express your truth without being defensive? How can you open yourself up to the possibility that two truths can exist at once?
Rose Transmission:
Mother Rose. Please show us how to find our way back to you, the Earth, and each other. Please help me to acknowledge what’s difficult for me, and may my heart be filled with compassion for all.

Mending what has been severed
It’s our disconnection from the earth that makes us feel like orphans. Like motherless souls.
Wherever you are, acknowledge the earth and its keepers. The ancestors and custodians through the ages who have tended to the sacred earth that lays beneath you. And also those who were part of its demise.
It is a difficult thing to acknowledge our ancestors may have been involved in the severing. But true healing can only happen when we allow ourselves to acknowledge it.In acknowledging the history of the earth beneath us are we are able to begin to heal what has been severed and open up the pathways of healing. Regardless if it was done by you, to you or well before you.
When we acknowledge it we begin to clear and reactivate our connection with it. To shake the inherited need to conquer, take, ignore or own it in attempt to feel like we belong.

The Crowning
There comes a time when the flower knows that it can no longer remain in the protective constraints of the bud. Somehow, it needs to trust in the birthing energy and surrender to the unknown of the bloom. The same birthing energy exists within all of nature and in birth, both physical and metaphorical.
It’s an initiation for the mother as well as the child, who transitions from the water world of the womb to a whole new one on Earth.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
This is a card of crossing thresholds and walking through the gates of initiation, which requires great courage and faith. There are rolling contractions and it’s almost always not straightforward. As we transition from one thing to another we’re called to burst through the constraints of the seed and then the certainty of the bud, so that something new can bloom from within.
We’re always birthing something and deep inside we know that the only way to surrender to the initiation is to surrender to the innate power within. This power is inner, but it’s also connected with the intelligence that exists within all Life. It’s the same energy that tells flowers when to bloom and it was present when you grew in your mother’s womb. Trust in that. It will carry you through. Surrender to what’s wanting to be born through you. Life is always trying to initiate us into even more of who we truly are.

How is life trying to initiate you?

Brothers of the Rose
This is a card of the sacred masculine. Like the feminine, the sacred masculine exists within each one of us and together we’re all being called to balance both energies within us. The Sun and the Moon. Solar and lunar. Perhaps this is what it means to birth a new world.
The sacred, mature masculine is something so needed in our world. It’s the part of us that lives in deep honor and reverence of the feminine. It recognizes the Goddess within all of Life, including the Earth, and is committed to protecting and living in devotion to the feminine. The sacred masculine knows that striving and overpowering, enduring and conquering are not helpful. The sacred masculine is strong and tender, protective but not defensive.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
This card could be a sign that you’re being called to work on the sacred masculine energy within you that’s maturing and rising. It could be that you’re being called to work on ancestral healing of the paternal line. It could be an indication that you’re being called to invoke or acknowledge the sacred masculine in those around you. Or it could represent the sacred masculine appearing in your life.
The sacred masculine exists within all of us. They are encircling you so that you can do your sacred work – so that you can be part of the return of the Goddess on this Earth. The rose is their emblem, and they wear it proudly on their hearts.

How are you being called to work with the sacred masculine?

There’s enough room for everyone
There is enough room for everyone. Your special unique bag of gifts, stories, struggles, triumphs, energy and tools is unlike no one else’s. The way you look, the city you’re from, your voice, your body size, your smile… embrace it, don’t change it or mimic someone else’s way of being in the world. There is enough room for everyone.
In this social age, it’s easy to see those who are walking a similar path as our competition. Or worse, feel like what we have to offer is not enough, causing ourselves to rush to put our stick into the ground rather than cultivating our unique way of doing things.
Don’t let your ego see that person as separate, we’re actually all on the same team, there’s no need to compete. There is enough room for everyone.

Temple of the Rose
For millennia feminine power, expression, and wisdom have been suppressed. As a result, the feminine has been silenced, dismissed, and disrespected. We’ve become disconnected from the Earth (the Mother) and have stopped revering our elders. But times are finally changing and we’re all part of this change.
Every time we honor our body, express our wisdom, share our voice, and connect with our sensuality, we heal the sacred thread of the feminine.
Every time we call back our power, we heal the sacred thread of the feminine. Every time we come together in circle, we heal the sacred thread of the feminine. Every time we honor our cyclic nature and the cycles of nature, we heal the sacred thread of the feminine.
Card of the day from The Rose Oracle
Regardless of which gender you identify with (if any), this is a card of calling back your power. It’s a card of expressing your truth, no matter what it is. It’s a card of sharing your soul’s voice and singing the song that you came here to sing.
This is a card of activation. It’s a call to action. And it’s a remembrance. You’re the child of the ancient Goddess. As you express yourself, you express for all who could not. As you reclaim your power, you do so for all those who cannot. Each shackle you break through, you free those who are yet to come.
Share your voice, sing your song, dance your dance, reclaim your power. This is what you came here for.
Soul Inquiry:
How are you being called to call back your power, express your truth, or honor the cyclic nature within?

Making the inner voice louder than the outer voice
Today was one of those rare full circle moments, where you see the many threads of your life come together. Twelve years of them or more.
Ever since I can remember I was aware of this call deep within but I couldn’t quite make out what it was trying to say. That there was something I needed to remember, to wake up to, to devote my life to. Perhaps we all have that.
The older I get the more and more I believe that this inner call is actually the most normal thing in the world. That we all have access to it. The trick is to somehow make the inner voice louder than the voices on the outside.
Perhaps if we were born in a time much more ancient than these, the inner voice may have been the one we were taught to hear first. And maybe that is what we are remembering to do?
Looking back from a place of hindsight I have the perspective to see that it is this call, this inner voice, that has been leading me every step of the way. And that turning up the volume of that inner voice and helping others to do the same is what I’m here for.
I spent all of today in Regent’s Park Rose Garden, THE rose garden where it all began. It was here, back in 2010, surrounded by thousands of exquisite fragrant blooms, that I discovered I heard that inner voice the most clearly and loudly.
It is here from park bench to park bench that I would write my first two books and oracle deck.
About 50 meters away is the tree that I used to meet Robyn Silverton under each week, to plan our Spirited Session Workshops – we taught them monthly in London, shout out to anyone who attended one back in the early days in our living rooms!
Today, on a quick visit to London, while walking around the circular gardens and sitting on those same benches under canopies of the very same climbing roses, I had one of those full circle moments of the deepest of gratitude.
I could feel my younger self full of faith, choosing to courageously trust the inner voice of my soul and to act on it day after day after day.
I see now how simple it is to live a soul-led life. And also, how much trust, commitment and grounded actions it takes.
Perhaps the inner voice is actually our future self talking to us, calling us forth. Or perhaps it is the ancestors yet to come or the great intelligence of the earth and beyond. This voice, this inner call, has got to be one of the greatest mysteries of them all. And yet, there is something within me that says it is also the thing I am most certain of.
Soul Inquiry:
What is your soul calling you towards?
Love,
Rebecca x
