Routine
They say writers should have a routine. Here's mine: I wake up, make a cup of coffee, and then read the obituaries on Wikipedia to see who I've outlived. Then I write whatever it is I am writing. But I do not find it morbid to read obits. History is biography and it fascinates me to read about the lives of others, to see how they began, how they navigated the minefields of life, and then to see how they ended. I'm afraid my obit would be very short. I've accomplished damned little in my 45 yrs upon the planet. ah well, the game is not over yet.

One of the best poetry books of the year

No Apologies by J.A. Carter-Winward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow. J.A.Carter-Winward joins Volatalistic Phil and Scott Alexander Jones as one of my favorite poets. The poems in "No Apologies" are strong, smart, witty, poignant, and (sometimes) angry. They cut to the heart of the subject matter like a scalpel, often leaving a bracing sting at the end. This is a great book, a true pleasure to experience.
*This is the first poetry book in a long time that I returned to so quickly. I've read it twice now and it is a classic. This is poetry with guts.

Always Midnight
I am polishing up a vampire script I wrote back in 1997 and then forgot about. Hell, even my cast-offs are better than 99% of the crap that gets produced these days. Imagine 30 Days of Night meets Die hard on a cruise ship.

Mad Monster Party: Shadows over Seattle
I am a recluse. I don't get out much. But last night I crept out of my lair long enough to venture to the Mad Monster Party horror convention in Bellevue to attend a memorial for my old boss from Something Weird Video, Mike Vraney, who, sadly, passed away last year after a brief battle with lung cancer. It was great seeing my old pals from Something Weird and we sat around and reminisced about Mike Vraney with his lovely wife, Lisa. All in all I had a really fun time. I should get out more.

Thanks to all
I would like to thank all of you who've taken the time to post a review here on Goodreads of anything I've written. An indie author like me gets only word of mouth for publicity, and so these reviews are very valuable. I thank each and every one of you. Cheers, Raegan Butcher
