It is official. I signed my contracts yesterday and Necro Publications will be releasing "Siege of Station 19" in February. This will be my first published novel. I am stoked to be breaking out of the poetry ghetto. Big shout out to David G.Barnett of Necro for taking a chance on me.

According to Wikipedia: "Bug-eyed monster is an early convention of the science fiction genre. Extraterrestrials in science fiction of the 1930s were often described (or pictured on covers of pulp magazines) as grotesque creatures with huge, over-sized or compound eyes and a lust for women, blood, and/or general destruction."

I love that description "a lust for women, blood, and/or general destruction" and I deliberately gave my chupacabras bug eyes as tribute to the old pulp term. I am happily writing "bug-eyed monster" stories. The first BEM book "Siege of Station 19" drops in February from Necro publications.

I got a sneak peek at the cover of my upcoming book "Siege of Station 19" and I want to thank the artist, Travis Anthony Soumis, for an exceptional job. The illustration is colorful and lurid and it reminds me of Basil Gogos, one of my all-time favorite illustrators.

In March, the first in a series of four chupacabra novels will be released from Necro, with a new book dropping every six months until the whole series is available. And sometime in the spring I will be releasing my first new poetry book since Rusty String Quartet came out eleven yrs ago. The new book is entitled "Brawl At The Poets Cafe" and it will be released by Binary Press. There might even be some readings to promote the poetry book. Stay tuned. Enjoy!

I am very lucky to have M.Wayne Miller, the artist who did the cover for my limited edition hardcover Chupacabra Chronicles (Black Voltage #46) by Thunderstorm Books, on board for the trade paperback series with Necro. Here is a link to the fantastic cover that Miller did for the Thunderstorm edition. I just saw some concept sketches for "Fury of the Chupacabras" and it is going to be just as cool.

I have been trying to list Fury of the Chupacabras for a free giveaway for the past week, but I keep getting a message that tells me "Invalid book ID". Not sure what that's all about, I've tried the two numbers in the paperback and also the one listed here on this site. I'll try my usual method of just waiting and trying again in a few days. I plan on giving away free copies of Fury every month until the next book, Revolt of the Chupacabras, comes out. I'll be back soon with free stuff.
