After years of writing romance under the pen name Blake Allwood, I decidedto pursue my other genre passion, fantasy and science fiction. Adam

My husband of 28 years and I have had an adventurous life. We’ve had many businesses, we’ve
raised over twelve foster children, two of which we adopted, and had
at least two professional careers.
To say we are people who seek experiences is an understatement.
As I’ve grown older, my passions seem to be better reflected in my imagination. Fantasy,
urban fantasy, and science fiction all allow me to escape into
worlds that transcend life. I’ve always been a major lover of

Ross Victory, (he/him), is an award-winning author, music artist, and entrepreneur from Los Angeles. I’ve been a reader of fantasy and science fiction since I
was ten. Lord of the Rings is still my favorite. I now read Butcher (Dresden)
and Salvatore (Drizzt), as well at Sanderson and others. The Mid Dreki Realm
got its start with a comment with my then fifteen year old son. That kernel
grew into a book, which split into two, and is now a five book series. I
retired at 57 and began the process of becoming a writer. I’ve attended a half
dozen conferences, read numerous books on the art of writing, joined critique
groups, and immersed myself in the craft. I’m a member of Apex, a group founded
by David Farland (Runelord).
I live in the foothills between Colorado Springs and Denver
with my wife. Deer, turkeys, bear, coyotes, and my three children and 2
grandchildren occasionally drop by.

She was born in East Yorkshire in the UK and grew up near the sea with her

Mila smiled, nodding emphatically. He’d heard of it, which eliminated the first hurdle and pushed them one step closer in the right direction. “Yep, it’s perfect.”
“How’re we going to get a license to raise a family?” His shoulders inched up. “It’s unheard of.”
“But brilliant.” Mila patted her husband on the arm. Naturally, he showed concern, as they’d discussed having children long before they officially tied the knot. Having a full house was important to them both. Children would complete their family, plus a furry pet or two, besides the giant stuffed bear.
“It’s no biggie. It’s just like earning a license to drive. You’ve done it before, and so have I. We’ll be assured that we’re surrounded by qualified parents who know how to keep their kids safe. Isn’t that like what a driver’s license is for?” She gazed at him, hoping her brief but logical answer would convince him.

I believe I have a good imagination, which is helpful as a fiction author.
If you could hang out with one famous person for one day, who would it be and why?
I’d enjoy hanging out with Albert Einstein because he’s brilliant.
What’s the story behind your latest book?
The story behind Licensed to Rear revolves around four couples who strive to earn a parental license prior to having kids. Some of these aspirational individuals believe wholeheartedly in the law, which aims to protect children, while others scoff at the law, claiming it’s ridiculous and a burden.
What advice do you have for other writers who want to get the word out about their latest book?
Learn marketing tactics from other authors. Be a sponge and never stop learning how to market books. Also, keep in mind that a newly launched book may not gain traction or recognition right away. It could be a couple years before it hits big. So keep an open mind!
