Kelly S. Marsden grew up in Yorkshire, and there were two constants in her life - books and horses.
Graduating with an equine degree from Aberystwyth University, she has spent most of her life since trying to experience everything the horse world has to offer. She is currently settled into a Nutritionist role for a horse feed company in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
She writes Fantasy stories part-time. Her first book, The Shadow Rises (Witch-Hunter #1), was published in January 2013, and she now has several successful series under her belt.

The first book is in the editing process and has an unconfirmed release date in early 2015.
Second is a prequel to my Witch-Hunter series, which tells the story of how Hunter, James and Charlotte meet; and how they join the Malleus Maleficarum Council. I'm currently working on the first draft, and it's a lot of fun giving a voice to characters that are merely mentioned in the main trilogy. I only hope I manage to keep the same thread of humour and intrigue in this one.
Third is a (currently) stand-alone paranormal piece involving demons. The premise for this story has been in my head for the past five years, waiting for me to finish with all this witchy nonsense, and is now jumping up and down, demanding attention!(less)

Hi Jan, thank you for your question!

It is said that Spelt has better nutritional values than common wheat.
I've not heard anything about flatulence, but it does have a higher lipid content that could support it's claims of having a cholesterol-lowering effect.

I would say that it wouldn't do any harm, if you wanted to feed Spelt to your horse, just make sure any change is introduced gradually.

Personally, I would say that the quality of the grain is more important than the specific strain.

“I thought you guys could detect witches." Jonathan muttered as soon as he got over his shock at seeing two people materialise in front of him. The wiccan sat on the floor, his shoulder being strapped with a makeshift bandage, by the ever-practical Ian.

"We detect magic, not witches." Hunter clarified. "We can't feel anything out of the ordinary, unless they start casting."

"Oh fantastic!" Jonathan groaned. "I'll remember that excuse later.”

“Hunter could only groan. “What are you doing, Kristen?”

“Bringing breakfast.” She replied innocently. “Think of it as thanks for saving my life.”

Hunter sat up in bed, looking his usual ruffled morning mess, with extra dark circles under the eyes today. “Technically, I didn’t save your life, Mel did.”

“Ok, then think of it as punishment for putting my life at risk.” Kristen shrugged, and helped herself to a piece of toast. “It’s all a ruse, anyway.”

“A wiccan?" Ian's deep voice rang out. Hunter did not have to look to know that his friend was tense with the idea of the unknown.

"Relax." James answered. "It's like a witch without powers... or a human with magic. Something like that."

Jonathan looked as confused by James' description as the rest of those present.”
