How often should you have a psychic reading?
I say once a year would be sufficient, if not longer.
I do not encourage clients to become dependent upon me or a psychic reading to make decisions and life choices for them, but rather as a guide. My goal is to present opportunities and insights to advance one's life in a fulfilling way. The bottom line is YOU decide, not the reading.
The information received during a reading should be sufficient for client to listen (record it in some way) to what the reading revealed and to take time to think about what was said and then decide what is right for themselves, and act upon it.
What comes up in my readings for clients can span up to a year and often further out. This is why I tell clients there need not be a return visit for at least one year if not longer.
I've been conducting readings and spirit communication professionally since 1975 and before that studying the tarot cards and psychic development while practicing my craft since 1970.
One reality that came to me early on in my work is how clients hang on my every word as though I'm the god of their lives - NO! A reader is to give insights not decide your life.
Another thing clients do is wait for the "outcome" rather than take the steps.
Another is during the session "judge" if I was right or wrong without taking time to listen and mediate upon the information. So many people have returned over the years letting me know how my information was helpful later than at the time when they decided I was wrong.
Clients asking the same question: What I offer during a reading is how to best reach a goal or avoid an outcome. Do most listen? No. Rather, clients return with the same darn questions and when I ask, did you (whatever was suggested) - "No, I waited and it didn't happen or didn't occur at the time we thought (she/he thought)."
Just don't sit around and wait to see if the reader was right or wrong or hurry back for a reading for "more" alternatives.
In my book The Timeless Counselor: The Best Guide to a Successful Psychic Reading you can learn much more about how to ask questions, what to do with the information and much more.
I suggest you don't go back for another reading before the year and/or you have followed the steps, and/or investigated alternatives if you didn't like what was in the reading UNLESS something entirely different comes up and you wish for some insights outside your own intuition and intelligence.
If a reader suggests you return, think twice if it's for your benefit or the reader's. Sometimes clients return after 5 or more years and I say, "perfect timing!" because that gave them plenty of time to use the information from the reading.
Again, don't become dependent upon a reader or anyone to decide what is best for you. Rather, take their insights and advice and see how and if it pertains to your situation, your willingness to go forward in your time and when you've done all you can, wishing for more insights (after at least a year) go for another reading.
Readings are NOT therapy although they can be a great source to finding the time and situation impacting you. In my book I devote a whole chapter on how psychic readings and parapsychology can work effectively to bring around a healing and advance your life positively.

A PSYCHIC KID: CHALLENGES & HOW TO SUPPORT
In my latest radio interview the host and I talked about the challenges a psychic child faces in family life and society. Interview on Paranormal Soup Radio Show YouTube
Do you have a psychic child? Then what I talk about in this interview will be of interest to you.
The host had been a child with strong psychic impressions and thankfully he had a mother who listened and supported her son. Now as a parent of two children he wanted to give them the opportunity to feel comfortable with their psychic abilities.
My son was also a highly developed psychic child who actually received pertinent information about a murder case I was working on. He was only 3 1/2 years old when he first received visions about this case and it went on to he was about 5 years of age. He willing talked about what happened to the woman murdered. I did not feed him any information or encourage him to talk about it. I listened.
I offered the information to the police, but protected my son by saying it was my information although I did record my son giving his impressions. Working with law enforcement can be quite a challenge for psychics because their approach and methods differ.
What he received helped officers find an elderly witness whose testimony was videoed because of his age and illness and later presented in court.
I also gave detailed information known only to the police and continued to work with law enforcement to secure an arrest. The perpetrator is, to date, in prison.
How parents can supported their psychic child: Parents might not believe in the paranormal, maybe never having any experiences themselves, but how does a parent handle a child that talks about visions about things that happened before their birth or things to happen that do occur?
Listen, do not say, "Don't talk about that" or "You're only imagining it." Instead, if you know about the history the child visions, give credence to it. If it's the future, say,"We'll see in time, won't we?"
Do not encourage frightening dreams or perhaps an entity your child is fearful of. Rather, give the child comfort and offer to create a safe space by having the child imagine sitting in a white bubble, safe from all that can harm her/him.
One time a very nasty entity came to my house and I dispelled it, only it went into my young son's room and caused havoc. But, that's another story in the interview.
Or, the psychic child who communicate with spirits?
An example of a kid talking to spirits was a grandson, not by blood but a 'bonus' grandchild that through marriage. He was only four when my eldest sister died suddenly. Her death wasn't discussed in front of him so when he "saw" her in his psychic eye then related a message we were surprised.
One night after a visit from my son, his wife and my bonus grandson I was bidding good night when he appeared to be falling asleep while standing; his eyes fluttered and his head fell forward. He then raised his head and said clearly, "Your sister is standing next to you. She's smiling and said not to cry for her."
I was grieving heavily and not at that time, but most days were spent in tears.
His mother had no idea he was a psychic kid. Maybe because he was with me, someone who would understand, his ability was revealed. At that time all I say was "Thank you." Since then we've shared many a psychic experiences and I support his ability through teaching him how to contain, understand and call upon it while I listen with an open mind.

I have lectured, taught many classes, (some now on my YouTube channel June Ahern Author) and given interviews on radio, podcast and television programs. The topic is about one or more of my four books' subjects and my psychic and mediumship experiences.
Luckily, my books receive overwhelmingly positive reviews i.e. Amazon US, UK, France, Japan, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble - just to name a few. My first novel, "The Skye in June", has been translated to Japanese.
One of my greatest pleasures is knowing my books bring joy to readers as well as reading giving them voice at book parties and events. .
The book events allows for guests to ask questions and share experiences they might also have had regarding one of my books' subject. Especially "How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts."

Bookstore events are a great way to check out an author whereas book parties usually held in homes are provide a comfortable setting with guests listening to me reading excerpts with time to answer questions. I.e. why did you write (a particular book)? What do you know about (whatever book in discussion) What's it like being psychic?
And so forth.
Conversation flow easily (much more than if in a bookstore) with a few laughs and often I share some demonstrations of my psychic impressions! Like at any party the delicious foods and libations. A good time is had as I autographing books.

ARE YOU AN EMPATH?

How often have you said, "I knew that, but..." or, "I should've paid attention to my feelings/gut about..."
Happens to most of us at times. We just know, but logic tells us, nah can't be.
Being empathic can be both a blessings and a curse.
Blessing, you can be a loving healing source. Curse, you take in too much from others.
Often, we empaths screwed up our lives over the pain we feel from others. We take them into ourselves creating another's pain not only mentally but emotionally and psychically and they become us wondering, "Who am I?"
Losing touch with our true face - true self. The pain sadly often leads to substance abuse just to deal with this world.
What messages do empaths get as children?
Have you been told you're too sensitive? A crybaby? Do you need more time alone than most?
These have been said to me throughout my life. I used to hid away in closets just to stop the noise of siblings; traffic etc. My family made fun of me.
I wondered what was wrong with me? Am I crazy? As a child I'd see the explosion of Daddy's anger before it happened and trembled, looking for help.
Time had proved to me that yes, I do know things about people without previous info. Yes, dead people talk to me. I've studying, been mentored, join in with other like minded and thus found healing of self-doubt while realizing my potentials.
Animals & empathic children more often than not go hand in hand. Why? They depend upon in-tune to feelings to stay safe or be on alert.
Two of my earlier blogs are about kids that are psychic (the rainbow or Indigo kids) available on this blog. Do you recognize yourself and/or your child? (links below might work.)
As adults we put aside "feelings" for logic, reason & practicality and that's not unimportant, it's how we balance the two - intuitive, gut feelings w/reasonable understanding and directions.
Professionally, I've been a psychic medium and teacher of all involved with that for 45 + years and still I'm learning about how the whole kit and caboodle works - like in the last few years realizing dimensions around us.

Definition of shenanigan A devious trick used especially for an underhand purpose tricky or questionable practices or conduct —usually used in plurul; high-spirited or mischievous activity —usually used in plural
Some certainly can be. In every profession there will be those whose purpose is to bilk customers and clients out of every last penny they have, right?
I've met but very few devious readers in this profession, although have had a few clients tell me of their bad experiences. One of my purposes to help the public understand the benefits and the times to choose another advisory professional.

That said, it's not just in the psychic profession. I've met much more honest, sincere people with strong psychic abilities than those false ones. Unfortunately, even the false ones often have strong intuitive skills and are very good at reading people's body language. Like many cons have. They spot a mark easily.
So....how do you cross the palm with coins and feel assured you are with an ethical psychic?
When I was researching various reading styles and readers back in 1989 before I published my book (original title: A Professional Psychic Reading as Alternative Counseling, which one the most sold book by an unknown first time author at New York Whole life Expo, '91) I tested a suspicion with a certain group of people who do readings.
It began well with the reader giving some reasonable information and then the bomb went off. I asked her if I could take notes. OH NO! That would disturb her energy; visions. Hmmm Ok.
Suspicion # 1 - why not?
I just about insist a client record what is said in some way, notes, handheld recorder and the majority of readers I've went to do the same. In fact I record sessions.
She asked for a question and I told her about the book being written - would it be helpful to those seeking a psychic? Take some of the mystery out of it, said I. She just about repelled from me, dropping my hand, eyes popping in disbelief: "NO! That's not a good idea. We shouldn't give our secrets, our power of how we read away."
Suspicion # 2 - why not?
It's been a mission of mine to encourage through teaching how we all have some kind of intuitive impressions. Often not as someone like myself with high in tune psychic abilities. But then again, we all have unique abilities like say, sewing. I've always been in awe of those who whip up wonderful creations from just a big piece of material. can only sew buttons on and not necessarily very well.
In my book I give more examples of how to spot a phony. For example you don't have to pay anyone to light a candle for you; buy one and light it yourself with the intention of positive seeing your future better. Spells - oh! don't get me started on how some so called psychics bilk people out of money and belongs to remove spells.

Some certainly can be. In every profession there will be those whose purpose is to bilk customers and clients out of every last penny they have, right?
I've met but very few devious readers in this profession, although have had a few clients tell me of their bad experiences. One of my purposes to help the public understand the benefits and the times to choose another advisory professional.

CHRISTMAS GHOST STORYTELLING w/VIDEO
Did you know Christmas ghost story-telling is an old custom? I didn't.
When did this custom begin?
Ghost stories during winter is a hallowed tradition and a folk custom stretching back centuries, when families would gather around fires on winter nights with tales of spooks and monsters. Makes sense on those long, dark, cold nights with no social media or TV.
But all didn't agreed with the custom. Based in folklore and the supernatural, it was a tradition the Puritans frowned on, so it never gained much traction in America and lost interest in England until Victorian 19th century and with some less Puritan Americans.
Humorist Jerome K. Jerome (1891 collection, Told After Supper), wrote, “Nothing satisfies us on Christmas Eve but to hear each other tell authentic anecdotes about spectres (ghosts). … we love to muse upon graves, and dead bodies, and murders, and blood.”
Charles Dickens claimed in a 1854 article, “Christmas Eve is the witching time for Story-telling.”
Ying Liu (producer The Haunted Bay Paranormal Investigation YouTube) invited me to a Christmas Ghost Story-Telling at a historical Victorian San Francisco hotel. (our investigation YouTube: https://youtu.be/qYPuQylhQsg )
Eager for some merry Christmas fun off I trotted to the hotel for some spooky surprises. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot be named per management because it seems potential guests voice concern their stay will be fraught of ghostly visits. I, for one, love a good ghost story and visit from one or more of the dead. How about you?
The hotel has a rich history of days gone by in the infamous San Francisco. It's is full of wonderfully preserved 19th and early 20th century antiques.
The shinning wooden staircase captured my heart right away. I could imagine women in long gowns floating down it. In fact, later I did see a woman ghost floating around the hotel.(see in the ghost YouTube investigation.)
I was joined by a couple of other mediums. Independently we investigated the hotel for ghostly activity. Would we find any?
Not surprisingly each encountered the same and also, different spirits as you'll see on the video https://youtu.be/qYPuQylhQsg
Following the investigation was an impromptu seance (with many spirit messages) and then spooky ghost stories.
I was all done in and went to my room early- being the the only one to spend the night and live to tell the tale. Was I visited? Yes.
This investigation didn't make it into my book, How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts, but many other ones have - like working with law enforcement on a murder case.

Skyclad - nothing between you and the sky, nature. The truth of self. Connection to a Divine Source in the Naked Truth. Not identifying yourself through clothing. These are some reasons.

The time of the longest nights has come, and the Lady of the Night, The Cold White Moon, rules supreme.
She wheels through the heavens above a white world, as if her power were transforming the earth into her own image.
Moonlight glitters, from frosted branches, sparkles from fields of new-fallen snow. The air tingles with energy.
Now, in this time of greatest darkness, the Moon is pregnant with light.
The stars dance around her in the heavens, and Earth blossoms with a million points of brightness.
Out of the darkness the new year is born.
So Mote it Be.
