Elections, politics & religion. How dare you
They say, never discuss politics or religion. Who are they?
The general public who make up our society. That is who, so me and you basically.
Why not discuss politics though?
Should we discuss what we want from our politicians then perhaps our friends and neighbours can begin to hear our point of view and express theirs. Then we can change each others minds. Hearing another person's opinion is a great way to begin to see something from another angle of view. What is wrong with that?
We cannot all be right all of the time. I definitely encourage everyone to discuss your politics with your circle of friends and colleagues alike. To make a difference, change must come about. It is just the way it is.
Elections are due in Ireland and they happen all over the world and sometimes we all see the center stage play of US elections too. It is a part of our lives now. Make a difference in your election times by discussing openly with everyone your political views. They do not make you a different kind of human being. Should anyone wish to judge you for your political opinion, well that is where the error occurs.
So perhaps the "they" in they say never dicuss politics, are those who are judgemental. So our society, the world in which we live in is made up of judgemental people. Too busy judging each other to actively take a stand in making a new better world for all of us.
Discuss your politics and ask of your friends to think long and hard about their election choices. Nobody can see the future. One must hope to choose a candidate that will be the best for the future and help bring about change. One only has the past to call upon for a view of how any such candidates may have worked previously.
We should not judge each other for a political opinion. We should most definitely judge the politicians on their track record. That is about as simple a thing to understand, I almost think a five year old can understand that.
The politicians are putting themselves forward to be chosen for political office. JUDGE them on their previous records.
And as for religion. I have my beliefs and keep them with me. What I do not need is to be judged for them. What I do not need is an organisation or structure set up that says it must be within a religion or religious order.
If you would like to be religious in any sort of way, then be religious.
If you want to be non religious, then be non religious. Again the 5 year old can understand this. Considering yourself to be religious and to condemn or shun another for their belief system is about as a ridiculous situation as I could ever imagine.
Fact. There is no one single religion that is going to preserve your life for ever.
Fact. There is no one single religion that will remove judgemental assholes from everyday life.
Fact. There is no one single religion that is working hard to rid the world of all of the social adversities facing society today.
Based on these three little things, I will remain with my own belief system and leave the structures of religion to the side for another while longer.
What can ya take from this post today?
Let us just reflect.
Please do not be a judgemental asshole, and double please do not be one that I have to encounter in my day today.
Please do discuss politics with everyone. Be free to express your opinion. All the while knowing that nobody is wrong for their opinion. Remain open to the idea that another may have a better idea.
To top it all off, if or should we say, should you base your political opinion off of a religious view, you might be absolutely NUTS.
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD AND VOTE FOR THE BETTER OF SOCIETY. ALL OF SOCIETY.
HAVE A GOOD ONE.

The January "blues" why not purples?
January marks the start of all things great to come this year. 2020 being a new decade really marks a significant new era for all of us.
Why is it so special?
Why do they call them the January blues?
Perhaps with the ending of Christmas holiday festivities and the long break that it can be, makes it kind of hard to begin again in January. Leaving aside all that we have spent during the holiday season. Back to work, back to school and back to life.
I do not see this a reason to be blue. You could be yellow, purple or pink with cherry dots. What's the difference?
This is a real question that I am asking you.
What is the difference?
You are the same person you were last September for example. You are the same person you will be, next July.
This is something I sincerely believe in and want you to consider. The person that you are is the same person that you have always been. Ever since the day that you were born.
We have the ability to be happy and we have the ability to be blue or purple or green. We also have the ability to make ourselves happy when we are blue or down. We can use our happy memories to bring back some smiles. We can set some little goals for our year to brighten the horizons of our future. The most important I suppose would be how we have the ability to be in the now. Like right now, reading this.
Can you pause for a moment and think on some happy memories. Can you remember how it felt? Can you be the same Happy right now?
We can if we try and being in our right now can make us happy with who we are today. The funny piece is we have always been this same person.
Here is a guide with some simple tools and techniques to help you find that "now time" that "me time".
Enjoy 2020
Have a read of this great new book and be alive in today.
Let's try and imagine ourselves as green or purple for a change.

New year's day. We made it
January 1st 2020. Here we are. You and me.
We made it all the way through, there were times 19 may have seemed real hard, difficult even. Yet here we are on new years day.
Are there lessons for us to take from our last year? Of course.
The fact we never let the year beat us up or beat us down. We made it to here. This is the best lesson.
A funny look at today, being the first of the month, the year, the decade.
Every day of your life that you wake up is the first of your life. A day to begin again. We are allowed to readjust and begin again all of the time.
Today on new years day this concept may actually make sense to you.
It is a widespread understood concept today on new year's day.
In my new book Layman's Handbook, this is a concept that is running throughout. The concept being that any day, everyday can be the day you take a little moment to reflect and begin again.
This feeling you may have today on new year's day is something I hope you can carry with you throughout each day of this new year.
New beginnings are available to all of us all of the time. All we have to do is be ready for them. Be ready how?
Be aware that the concept is real and not only saved for new year's day.
Everyday this new year carry with you this great new year's day feeling.
The "I can begin again" feeling.
Treat your march 21st, your April 5th, your August 19th, your October 1st all the same as today.
January 1st 2020 is a special day for sure. I am sharing with you to encourage you to remember today, everyday of this new year.
These are little things that can help you become aligned and achieve great results in your life.

New Year. 2020, the year 'O' plenty.
Though it is not actually the best practice, well in the habit of living in the now. This period of Christmas and new years does throw things into a bit of a wobbler.
The year in review was my last post and it was exactly that, a look back over my own achievements in my writing year. Took me by surprise to actually tell myself "wow". The mal practice of it all obviously is the looking back. How can we ever move forward if we take time looking back. Of course it is not detrimental to take a peek back every now and again and it can be considered quite healthy to review the year and pat yourself on the back for all of our achievements, no matter how large scale or small scale they may be. The important piece is to look back and acknowledge to yourself where you have come from for the year and what you have learned and achieved. So well done you.
The second part of not living in the now and some of the mal practice around this time of year is all the looking forward we will now do for the year ahead.
Plans to be made, promises to ourselves and to others.
Resolutions they used to always call them. Again as with the living in the now, neither too far forward nor too far back should we dwell on, at all.
However a little bit of enthusiasm and some motivational guidelines are okay to set for our year ahead, right?
Will you promise yourself the sun, moon & stars and then get depressed next Christmas if you have not achieved all you have set out to do?
I encourage you to take a healthy look at your year ahead.
Plan out some achievable goals for 2020.
I like the phrase, Twenty Twenty, the year of plenty.
Adapt this into all that you set for yourself. Use it to bring yourself to an abundant year. Bring all of your projects and dreams together and gain wisdom, knowledge & advance your life along to where you can be the wonderful you that you are.
Simple, healthy & achievable.
I offer the words of the "year of plenty" to remind you that there is enough to go around for us all. Believe it or believe it not, we do not need the whole cake, a few crumbs can quite often be enough to be very well taken care of..
I will set out my year with some projects in mind and with all hope and determination I will achieve them.
I hope you reading this right now can do the same.
Here she comes 2020
Get ready 😊
The real truth of the here and now is that it will not miraculously change for the better of for the worse. The work you will put in to yourself this year will pay the dividends that you allow yourself to reap.
Enjoy it, smile as often as possible & don't get too greedy. It is the year of plenty. This says, all by itself that there will be enough to go around.
Happy New year to you all.
Buy my books, read em and review em for me. Thanks a bunch.
Here is a link to where my books can be found.
Plenty to read and like (insert smiley face).
It is you who reads that makes my own journey of writing a much more enjoyable journey as without your feedback I would be out here operating in the dark.
I thank you all thus far, keep an eye out for my upcoming projects this year 😊

Author News. The year in review. 2019 bye bye
What can happen in year? Not much may be your answer. Some of us can see a whole entire year as a massive amount of time, for others it is something that passes by too quickly altogher.
I didn't graduate any college courses or break any world records this past year, so rest assured no shocking news or issues to let you in on.
What I did do though were a few remarkable things in my own little world. Perhaps you can relate or see something similar for yourself, who really knows? Right?
I promised myself I would release a new book this past year and I am quite delighted to deliver to you news of how I did achieve what I set out in my year to do in regards to writing. I went from author of 1 book entering into the year to having now to my name as an author the beautiful chest pumping news to boast of how I released 3 new books in 2019. I now have 4 in total behind me as an author. Can I get a "hell yeah". It definitely has been that kind of year.
I use a word press platform to showcase some of my work and even this blog post here will be posted on my website. Amcnallyauthor.wordpress.com
This has been something I have been toying around with for the year and again is directly associated to my writing. Some short stories there as they happened through out of 2019. Laughs and giggles along with links to all of my books and links to purchase too.
Great achievements for me as a writer. 2019 has been a year of work and putting in the time needed to deliver on my promise to myself.
What promise can I make to myself for 2020
Watch this space, hahahahaha.
In the beginning of 2019 I had a chat with a friend of mine about setting goals and helping keep my mind focused for the year ahead. I let him know some of what I had in mind, his response was "they are some very big goals to have and perhaps I should set my sights a little lower as I should not have a need to set myself up with difficult goals to achieve".
Well I did it and am feeling very proud of myself as the year is drawing to a close. So proud actually that I might as well shoot for the stars in another galaxy this year coming as we are unstoppable now ha ha he he.
My second memoir came out in February 2019
Title 17 & Life.
It is a look back at some of my younger years and the coming of age stuff that occurred for me in those times.
The subtitle is, "a major cross roads or just a simple intersection".
The question being, when can these life changing decisions come about for us and are all of decisions keys to our path in life?
I soon after that released my blog posts. A compilation of my blog posts and poems as they occurred for me in chronological order.
The ebook title is
My Grief, the last 3 years. Blog.
I wanted to share with everyone what a 3 year journey inside of my Grief looked like. Not only to share how I was feeling or what thoughts came up for me. More to the point of looking at how a project like writing can be a tool to help when on a journey of grief. I guess to encourage others to perhaps even write down what is going on for them even if it never makes sense to them at the time.
The real project that I was working on all year though and probably my proudest moment of the year was to release my self help book.
Layman's Handbook, in life. Simple tools to change how we live.
A journey to SELF.
The "self" standing for, Succeed Elevate Live Free.
Ya see it has been not only my own grieving that has brought me to many questions in life along with many changes. The fact I turned away from drugs at a young age and lived a life of being clean. Recovery programs and a sober living life. Free from drugs of any kind. This drug free life is something that has thought me how to enjoy the simple things.
When you couple this with living a life free from alcohol and a knowledge of all the 12 step programs. Well these can be where I have drawn up to find some of the tools I have learned and was absolutely bursting at the seems to share with the world.
It has been the building blocks along the journey of my own life that have brought about great change inside of myself. The ever changing nature in which I have lived and the feelings of having to reinvent myself on a number of different occasions.
Grief and losing my loved one's, really has made losing alcohol and drugs from my life a much much smaller issue. Though a very real time and issue back in the day of my personal journey. Perhaps I could have ended it all at one point or another.
I have found that sharing my pains and my torment have encouraged others to do the same.
I have found that sharing my feelings and life experiences have inspired some others to gain a simpler view on their own lives and when I figured out that I might even have something to offer others which in turn can help them with their own struggles.
Well yes, the book had to be written.
Layman's Handbook by Aidan-McNally is out there in the world for all to enjoy.
A self help book from a layman just like me.
What on earth could be on the cards for 2020?
I have a few goals of mine I must get a little more serious with and not too serious to where I do not enjoy the fulfilling of them. I encourage you to write a few out for yourself and see how your year can be.
If there is to be one thing I am certain of is that,"if we set our mind to it, we can achieve it".
Have a wonderful year, to you all.
Thank you for your readership and support throughout the year that has been.
I look forward to you sharing my posts and my blog and my books with all of your friends. This makes my heart beat, thank you.
Good luck and see you all soon.

Ireland, you sleep so soundly. Is it the cold?
Many people over time have said to me how they love to sleep when the rain and wind is howling outside. They tend to feel more comfortable when they hear the noise the rain makes on the roof or pelting off of their windows. Something makes their warm bed seem so much more enjoyable. They sleep better they say.
I find it incredulous, "incredulous" now there's a word for ya.... Let's leave incredulous for another day.
Ireland you sleep so soundly,
one can make a case for or use this idea of how it is a little easier to sleep when it is cold. Something about the heavy rains make sleep much more enjoyable. This then has me thinking again. Oh boy he is off "thinking" again. Yup and you may love what I have dreamed up this time or you may not. Either way, share the Post entry. Share the blog post and let others make up their own minds. Thanks.
Ireland you sleep so soundly.
Why?
Currently in Ireland, yes you are right in thinking how everyone must sleep so well as it is indeed a very cold country though not a snowy place. Rains are more the deal here in the emerald Isle. So with all the wind and rain. Many must sleep so soundly. You are correct in this train of thought. The sleeping soundly though that I refer to is more of the "closed mind" kind. The metaphor of using the word sleep to represent perhaps the more "oblivious" nature in which life seems to be occurring.
I think or come to thought about occurances in my own life and not something I can make up or try and sound cool because of what I did or what I saw. My experiences have lead me into thinking deeply on more than one occasion. Here is where I can share with you some of how I see it. I wish to awaken your own mind to some of how my perspective came about.
Ireland you sleep so soundly while thousand are without a home to call their own. Not one or two; thousands are without their own home. This is what is known as a "homeless CRISIS", if one were to ask me about it. CRISIS usually is good cause for EMERGENCY action from its government. No such emergency plan seems to be taking place. Emergency meaning a call for immediate action. The remaining 4 million Irish people who are not homeless, perhaps could consider demanding immediate action from their representatives. Please be reminded that our great country is a place where for decades we collected for all kinds of charities for other countries and sent money to foreign lands to help the starving and poor. Trocaire being the greatest of them all. The Irish people under good old Catholic influence raised all kinds of monies to help the missions in other countries. Somehow now the people of Ireland have been calloused and give less and could not care for the ones in the streets as they sleep soundly listening to the rains on their windows. Could this make one's blood boil?
Ireland sleeps so soundly, hmmmmmm!
I have been attending several different medical clinics and hospitals for a variety of different reasons and I guess probably as it is the case as getting older some things in health need a little more care.
I had the beauty or beautiful experience of needing to receive some attention because I was fainting for no reason. Collapsing they call it. Anyways enough about me. Even though I was losing consciousness for no reason, I found myself in the nice uncomfortable chairs of a hospital waiting room. Ah yes, what happened next?
The day led into evening and then to night quite quickly. I sat and became familiar with the people seated in the various rows. I heard a bang from over my left shoulder, I could not place the noise. I thought I knew what it was, a distinct noise. I scanned the room and noticed one man missing, the bathrooms were to my left shoulder and then it clicked with me where and what the bang may have been. I scanned the waiting room and noticed an older gentleman who had been seated a few rows ahead of me, he was not there. I stood up and asked out loud "where did that old man go" a flash had come to my mind of seeing him out of the corner of my eye shuffling his way to the bathroom. I ran to the bathroom where the man was laying on the floor, a vacant stare and gasping his last few breaths. I shouted out from the bathroom doors demanding nurses and doctors to come quickly.
A nurse came and as I was holding his hand speaking to him loudly "hang in there man it is going to be alright, the nurses are coming" that is all I could think of. He was dying. The level of panic amongst the staff began to escalate and they brought a trolley and whisked him off. I have been around dead and dying people before. He didn't even squeeze my hand back, he just slipped away. When my turn came to be called for attention, I asked the triage nurse "what of the elderly man who passed out in the bathroom?" she told me that it is private and she cannot tell me what happened with him....
This is a problem in the hospitals of our beautiful country. Long waiting lists and no immediate care for the sick and elderly.
While the rain is pissing down and the wind howling tonight, rest assured there are many wish for their own bed and not the horrid plastic chairs of a hospital waiting room.
Ireland you sleep so soundly, while your brothers and sisters sit hoping to be seen by a doctor.
Ireland you sleep soundly while the wind howls outside.
A friend, who has been sent to jail for speaking out against the scam that is "child protective services". A family law court has a rule of keeping the proceedings private to protect the child in question, this is her crime. She attempted to make public and expose the situation and for all the right reasons. She is a mother who wants her child back and all kinds of barriers have been put up in front of her. The so called child protection services have introduced and now have made criminal the mother because of her disobedience of a gag order from the court. What could anyone expect a mother to do but only fight tooth and nail for her child back. The child protection services have created, no let me rephrase that. They are an absolute monster now and have the full arm of the law supporting them by keeping parents quiet about speaking out of all the abuses and outright disgusting things happening to our children of Ireland behind closed doors. The family law Court and a judge have began to take the proceedings more personal and are in full abuse of their own position of power by trying to silence this woman. She now has "jail time" to her name. The courts have not sought to reunify the family. Keeping in mind Ireland is signed to international treaties to uphold and wherever possible to push for "reunification of family". Not in this ladies case. Yes the woman has been quite outspoken. What she is uncovering is major corruption and appalling counts of abuse to children and parents alike from the so called protective services. Perhaps tomorrow when you wake you will have wished that you called for this judges head on a plate?
Oh Ireland you sleep so soundly.
Ah yes you are beginning to see the metaphor of how sleeping soundly is keeping your own mind numb to these items and as long as it doesn't affect you well then it must not be going on, right?
Ah yes the news reports all day long about mis spending from our political offices and the raping that is taking places of funds in our country by the elected officials. Expense accounts of politicians, claims of travel expenses, government officials clocking in and out just to get another big payout of one kind or another. Laughable? Yes. Funny? No.
Ah but once Ireland keeps on sleeping soundly then the church can have its way. Such influence by a Catholic organisation that, need I remind you has been responsible for some of the most horrific child sex abuse ever known to mankind. And there go the good old catholics of Ireland running to mass each week and support such an establishment. How long will you sleep?
Accountability of government will never be demanded as long as you stay sleeping. Your government will continue to rob the coffers and confuse you with nonsense while the country slips quietly into 3rd world rankings. Only recently it was not possible to provide safe drinking water for the public. Like come on, are ya serious?
I like the thought of rebellion, I love the concept of revolution. Seriously though? It only takes a little time away from your "sleepy time" to notice what is going on around you and begin to change your country for the better.
Let's begin to question and demand answers of each and every corner of the society that we each belong to. Begin to seek remedy to problems. Nope, not the temporary fix of a pothole, nope not a temporary rest from hearing about brexit every single day.
Ah Ireland you sleep so soundly.
Yes the connection between sleeping soundly and the cold is something we can make match as it is often cold and windy in Ireland and many sleep quite well. The cold in this instance are the hearts of the Irish people as they are growing colder by the day, the sleep the Irish are enjoying is the unknowing, misunderstandings, ignoring nature in which it is all being ALLOWED to happen.
We Irish as a nation recognize the mistreated, we sent a ship with goods to the Gaza strip of Palestine when Israel placed a blockade around the poor Palestinians. We cannot help our homeless? We cannot help an Irish person who is to the point of dying in our hospital waiting rooms. We the great people of Ireland have nothing to say about a woman been thrown in jail to make an example of her as to why one should not/never speak out against a judge or the current system that is in place?
Ahh but an English system of the Nottingham sheriff equivalent can come knocking at your door. Demanding the payment of taxes and bill you even more. To pay for such things as a stupid printer in our government while the country slips slowly and steadily towards 3rd world status. Come on people, sometime in your life you must just wake up a little. Leave the sleep for another day.
Please do not tell me that you sleep soundly hearing the rain. Please do not tell me you are sleeping soundly while the young, the special needs community or the elderly are in receipt of little to no help and abuse continues to run rampant. Ireland you should be sleepless out of guilty conscientious moral upstanding. I am one who is appalled and believe every other of the 4 and half whatever million should be too.
Leave a comment and tell your horrible story of what is oh so wrong.
Lave a comment of where you need the help and are not receiving it.
Leave a comment of how you today are so proud to be Irish as we sleep and listen to the rain.

#blog post 115. #forgiveness
"Forgiveness"
Or may it be better to change the word immediately to "for goodness sake"
Forgiveness is a funny creature and very difficult to notice much about. Is it a concept? Perhaps a feeling? Just an all round state of being perhaps too?
If I feel forgiving in a situation perhaps I can bend my mind around to forgive someone and not give the situation much more thought at all. Though this sounds like some easy simple thing to just make my mind up and do it, with a clap of my hands the situation or thing with a particular person is resolved because I made my mind up to forgive. That sounds too easy.
What about all the feelings involved with the resentment and the anger towards somebody over whatever they did. How do I allow these feelings to pass out of me and allow that other person live on like they did nothing?
If forgiveness is to be a concept then it would mean to me that I must set my mind on forgiving the person and once I make my mind up I can overcome the situation and just be done with it. The trouble I have found in the past is that forgiveness is not just that easy to bring myself to overcome or come around to.
What could be some stuff we might want to forgive for? Somebody hurt us in some sort of way, their actions or words have brought about hurt into our lives. We sit and resent them for this. We also gather many hateful thoughts towards that person, all because we have been hurt. We have been hurt, yes I repeat it again as this is probably the foundation lying under the anger and the resentments. My suggestion is to begin to find a path to a forgiving place would be to find what it is that hurt so much?
When I look at any situation I look at in a couple of different angles of view. I look at it from a view point of what has happened that is causing my mind to be so trans fixed on the hurt and the hatred? What is causing my emotions to be so rattled by the other person's words and actions? These are the only two paths I know that show me where I hurt and how I am dealing with it.
In my mind I wish resentful things upon the person who hurt me. In my emotions I try to train myself to be cold towards the person that hurt me. I cannot find forgiveness for them. This all makes great sense.
The new concept, the path to living without such hatred and the emotional turmoil I might feel when hurting because of another.
My expectations of another person were too high.
My naivety has brought about hurt in my life.
My own wish to feel horrible is winning.
My own running and ranting in my brain is winning.
My friendship, trust, respect, honour & belief systems have all been shattered.
These are all reasons why I might be hurting because something another has done or said.
Solution.
I choose whether or not I remain in a position of resentment. I choose to remain caught in my mind wishing hatred towards the hurtful person. I choose to wallow in my hurt and not allow it free.
The position I find myself in is one of, it is my own opinions and feelings that are continuing to allow the hurtful person mess with me. I am allowing the hurtful person absorb even more of me, like a vampire, I am permitting them to continue to drain my life source. No it is not that I have permitted them to continue hurting me. I am allowing the hurtful occasions stack up and tear me apart inside. I do not wish to be hurting nor do I wish to be in this position of horrible feelings. What can I do?
Allowing ourselves some time in life to breathe a little. Enjoying some small soft but deep breaths can give me a moment to focus. Now that I am paying attention to me, I can look at what all this hurt is doing to me. All the mind stuff and how even though the hurtful person is carrying on with their life and how they act, I am stuck with feeling hurt.
Where is the justice in this?
When I choose to allow myself to forgive them for their wrong doings, I am not letting them off the hook. I am letting myself off the hook. I am regaining the power back over myself. I am actually freeing myself from the torment I have allowed them to cause. I do not need revenge to even the score. I need better than revenge. I need a forgiving attitude. I need a happy place to return my feelings back to me where my hurt is gone away. I need my brain power back to focus and concentrate on my own life. I like to feel good, I like to think clear.
When we forgive someone we do it entirely for ourselves. We do not need to let the other person even know we have forgiven them. We do it for our own peace of mind, for our own emotional well being. If our entire mind is like a vault and it is stocked full of resentment and bitterness towards another who has hurt us, we have little room left for nice things or nice feelings. Coming to a point of forgiveness is a path we can choose that makes so much sense that we will laugh about how we didn't arrive here sooner.
A freedom from the evil or hatred of the hurtful person. A freedom to feel better and enjoy life. A freedom to have a clear mind in our day, free from resentments.
Though it may seem a hard road or pathway to find, it does exist and it is a super place. It is a path that we can choose for ourselves because we love ourselves. We can choose it for us. Not the hateful person. Leave them in the "horridness". When we forgive we break through boundaries. We forgive someone else and we benefit. This is a yippeeeee moment in life.
Try it and see what you think. I think you will find you are worth it. Forgiveness is all about YOU. 😊

Irish TV on Friday night, #LateLateToyShow
Usually early December or has happened in this case, late November. A regular Friday evening chat show here in Ireland is taken over by toys and children. The show turns from the usual Friday night chat show to a complete fun fest of displaying toys and having children test the toys and present the toys with some serious child critics too.
The show is about children, for children and a lot of Christmas gift ideas are gathered from the show.
It is an age old tradition in Ireland of the modern times. The #LateLateToyShow is legendary among Irish children and adults alike.
The host is a guy by the name of Ryan, he has his quirks and some like him or some hate him. This is a matter of your own taste and not for me to portray or decide for you here in a #blog post. Ryan did some silly antics to keep the mood light hearted and some awful jokes and puns too, all in good gest though.
I am not a regular viewer of the show as my many years outside of #Ireland has made me lose touch on the show. Many families get very excited and make a big effort to watch the show and have a little party even. The one night the kids can stay up really late and watch the show that is for children, once a year. Though the presenter in my time was a great TV show host and interviewer, who we lost in Ireland recently this year. The now long running "new host" Ryan did the mighty man Gay Byrne a great honour this evening with his show.
Back when I was a child I also sat up late to see this show.
Tonight I can openly admit that I was moved by the show, the flow of the show and the children performing songs and dance were all excellent. The guest critics were quite fun to watch and listen to too. On perhaps 4 if not 5 occasions tonight during the show I was moved to tears. There was a reuniting of a family with their big sister, as the show flew her home for Australia to Dublin to spend Christmas with her family. A random act and a great surprise to her mother and brothers and sisters.
A special gift for a little girl who has grown up with a sick little brother and as she was a critic of some of the toys, she was shocked when she was offered some great paid trips to see her favourite shows and stuff.
A special treat from the British open winning champion golfer to a little mini golfer who demonstrated a golfing practice game for kids. The youngster might have been 5 or 6 and she is a golf pro already. Her idol Shane lowery showed up and presented her with the 18th hole flag of his open winning game, framed and signed for her. She could not believe her idol was there to meet her.
A critic of the toys who was into fitness and demonstrated some of the fun fitness toys for children was met by surprise when her idol Katie Taylor walked out and presented her with her winning boxing gloves from her recent fight.
Ahh here it keeps going on and the characters of little children were all exceptional. A fantastic message was sent out from a child who has experienced bullying and she really got the last say on that.
All in all an excellent show and well done on every aspect.
Thumbs up to #RyanTubridy & all the staff of the #LateLateToyShow #Ireland.
Gotta give credit where it is due.

The beauty in marketing your book
The book has been written and now it is down to the real work in making your new book fly.
Fly is right😊
The Internet is of course the number one tool to make the #NewBook get its wings and drive all the traffic in the world to the book page and see the purchase clicks go bananas.
Let's be real though, perhaps you are like me and you have indeed produced a fine new book. You even went so far as to do #ebook and #paperback in your new title. What more could people want? Right?
Using the Internet to post promotional posts on the #bookpage on Facebook is well worth having, I might add. The book page on Facebook though is only as good as the shares you can get for it. When do you think was the last time someone might have managed to type your title into the search bar on Facebook?
Twitter, now this is a major book marketing hang out. Authors seem to outweigh readers here though. Too many tweets about a new book, kind of become boring really. New content is needed all of the time. Have you got 800 tweets a day in you? Can you get some big named tweeters to come on board and give you a little #bookboost every so often? Twitter though, I will admit is a nice place to meet new and interesting authors, readers and book people.
Instagram has a massive following these days and for sure is something I must work harder on figuring out. I do not seem to be able to embed a link to my books on Instagram yet. Again it has its similarities to Facebook in limited to sharing potential. Hashtags are available for use though on Instagram and this is a massive help. Facebook hashtags have little to no affect.
A blog, just like this one. Get mentioned in as many blogs and with the high use of book title hashtags. Have you created a hashtag for your book yet? Get as many as you can to share it. Keep in mind Facebook and hash tagging gets little to no higher rankings anywhere. Ya want shares when on Facebook.
My titles, TWO sons TOO many, memoir. #TWOsonsTOOmany
17 & Life, #memoir. #17nLife
My Grief, the last 3 years, blog. How do I make a hashtag for that? 😊
The #newrelease #nonfiction book.
Layman's Handbook, in life. Simple tools to change how we live. A journey to SELF #LaymansHandbook
There they are.
Have you heard about them before or seen the hashtags or a post somewhere about these?
Well now you have.
I hope you enjoy the reading and can consider yourself, right slap bang in the hunt with me as I too just keep on writing and sharing.
All shares on #facebook appreciated.
All #Tweets on #twitter appreciated.
As a matter of fact all shares anywhere on the internet are what make the writer really happy and gain more exposure.
So ya know what to do now. 😊 I happily reciprocate for all my fellow authors too.

Struggle & strife, oh what a #life 😊
Wouldn't it be nice to have a wonderful Christmas this year?
Right before we head into two thousand and twenty. The year of the new promises is almost upon us. Two zero, 2 zero. What will we swear to ourselves this year?
What about all the things we have no power over? Yes, those, the situations that we can do nothing about?
Each year since quite a while back I like to have a slogan for the year ahead. Use it if you like, use it everyday😊
TWO thousand & twenty, the year O' plenty!
So what about all the struggle and strife that has been haunting us for so long, all year? What can we do to remove these horrible feelings and begin to see "the light"?
Is it possible that if we change our mind, we can change our attitude and all will become easier?
Can we leave behind the ways we have been trying and do something new? We may even find that a new approach can result in NEW RESULTS.
How about this for a concept for the times ahead?
We can even adopt such a strategy into our personal lives now. Right now, today. New approach = new results. Sometimes it will be the same struggle, the same strife. The difference being how we go about it. Removing the word struggle even and seeing things differently. Is it possible that we can have this much power over ourselves?
I am a firm believer in YES! These things are all possible.
I am a living person who is proof that it is all possible.
I share with you some ideas to help bring about change to our own minds.
Life is so worth living and to top it all off, totally worth adopting some new stragies from time to time.
I bring to you,
Layman's Handbook, in life. Simple tools to change how we live. A journey to SELF.
