STEVE C. ESTON has been a lover of the fantastical and the scientific since he was a young boy. He wrote his first story by hand while still in elementary school—a five-page story about a tiger-masked ninja fighting mythical monsters that included his own illustrations.

When not spending time with his family, Steve makes time for his numerous hobbies, which include reading (and hoarding) books, listening to music, playing video games, watching movies, making puzzles, and playing hockey and tennis. He also loves to travel and developed an obsession with New Zealand after traveling there in 2015.

Hi Richard,
The whole family is doing good and I hope you and your close ones are also doing well.
Thank you for your question. You are correct that “Deficiency” contains some elements of dystopia. That being said, all of its content, including locations, characters, organizations and events, are completely fictitious, without any link to my current work environment.
Congratulations on winning a copy of the story. I hope you enjoy it!(less)

What a fun question. Without hesitation, I would have to say Arvelas, the setting of my novella “The Conclave”.

The world of Arvelas was first born when I was teenager and a friend of mine introduced me to role-playing games, more specifically Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. We initially played in the world of Krynn, of the Dragonlance franchise, but quickly, I wanted more. In answer to this, I created a fictional world just for us: Arvelas.

Because the world of Arvelas has been a part of my life for almost thirty years, I would love to travel there and see some of the cities or locations that we visited in our role-playing sessions over the years.

That said, there are many dangers in Arvelas, and I may regret this decision if it one day comes to pass…(less)
