Time to reflect and rewrite!

We are over half way through this year, my friend, and what a year so far! How has it gone for you? What’s new? What has been the highlights so far? 

And what has been the not so good things?

It’s always great to take time to reflect on the good and not so good, what has gone right, what dreams have come true, what hasn’t worked out, you know…all the things. I actually like to do this at the end of every month so I can evaluate, reorganize, and also acknowledge and celebrate it all!

Plus it’s never too late to revisit and remake plans and dreams too. 

One of the things we will be doing on our Women’s retreat to Costa Rica is to take time to revisit the year behind us, acknowledge all those ideas, celebrate ourselves, and look ahead into the coming year.

So we can manifest those NEW ideas and desires, envision what we want next for ourselves, our careers, our lifestyles, and actually make a Magic Action Plan to bring those desires into reality. 

Through journaling, deep diving, meditation, healing ceremonies, movement/dance, adventure, and inspired conversations in our wonderful circle of women, (all the goodies included on the retreat) we will learn how to clarify, and rewrite our stories for what we are wanting. Wanting to change, wanting more of, wanting to create.

And then the process of asking for and allowing ourselves to manifest our desires,is important, after we have let go of what has held us back.

What are you waiting for?

Hey lovey, I’m curious…

How many times have you said, 

“oh, 

“I will get to that later”, 

or, 

“I really want to go there, maybe next year”, 

or 

“ I can’t afford to do that thing I really desire to do”

Or

“I’d like to be in better shape, but I’ll eat this cake now, and start next week!”

Or

“I’ll wait for the right time.”

Or heard your friends say something like that.

I had a client tell me how much she really wanted to go to Spain, that she had dreamed of it for years. I asked her when she was going to go. No plans for it yet, was her reply. I asked how bad she wanted to go, or if she was continuously telling herself a story that wasn’t true. She said that oh yes, she really wanted to go.

You’ve heard this before. 

If not now, when? 

And I ask you, What are you waiting for?

How often do you put things off that would mean a lot to you? 

Do you procrastinate on your own desires? 

Put other things of less importance first? Or other people?

Or think you don’t know how to get started toward that goal? 

Or even that you aren’t really worthy of doing that thing

Journaling prompt for you:

What are you really truly, with all your heart, wanting to do? Or travel to? Or create?What’s stopping you?What can you change to make that dream happen?

I say, Make a move!

Move your body. Take one small step. Make a MAP (my Magic Action Plan!) Envision it happening. That you are already doing it, or already there. (This is an important step!)

Yes, I have a bucket list of dreams. I like to explore. I am curious. I enjoy new things and new places and new foods. And I know that that first step can often be the hardest. I remember way back when I once went repelling, when you go down a rock wall tied to ropes. Stepping backwards off that cliff was the hardest part, scary, sweaty even, but once I did, I had the momentum to go down that wall and enjoy the ride! No turning back.

So isn’t it time that you invest in yourself and your dreams? It is not selfish to put yourself first. That is the beauty of self-care and self- love, and living this only one life that you have, right now!

Step into your life more fully, being more present, and in the moment! And imagine how that will feel!

So you can feel good, feel great, light up and be on fire for living! 

What can you change to make that dream happen?

Emerging, Again

I talk alot about using our words to help us define, redefine, reevaluate, shift, explore, and dive in to what is about to Emerge for us, as women in mid-life, as creatives, as we shift into this new stage of life. New desires.

What are you emerging from? And ready for? Are you meandering, checking things out? Are you cleaning out, or adding in? Are you feeling like seasoned roots or newly planted seeds?

I did talk about this years ago on one of my FB Lives, and continue to do so for you, woman,  When I was running another fabulous mastermind, and I talked about this and more on the FB Live, click here if you haven’t seen it…

Elevate and Illuminate….this is a recurring theme in my work as a coach, and as an artist, writer, dancer myself, and as we step into our divine feminine essence, which feels so easy to lose as we get older, getting caught up in the day to day, the mundane, and how we can forget about our sensuality, what keeps us juicy and vibrant.

Today, the theme is based on the same, and based around building and creating and keeping our journaling and writing practice. And Focusing on ourselves as women with bodies that want to be heard and taken care of, internally and outwardly, emotioinally, physically, spiritually. Sensually.

And those are the ideas, themes, prompts I use in my weekly journaling classes. 

And this next session starts tomorrow, Tuesday, on Zoom, so from the comfort of your own private space, your special room, so you can write with us for 1 ½ hours of quiet YOU time, to explore and have fun, and dive in, and release. Let the words from from te Body to the Page.

Your words are MAGIC. Your words are POWERFUL.

I’ll share one more piece with you today, as I continue to work on my 5th book ( 2nd book of poetry!)

A piece of poetry, a life-short as I call my poems, to share. 

Being born, from the womb of dirt and rock

The freshness in the air, coming alive,

Oh my god, I feel the dew

The juice from the womb

And the bursting open is the rising up,

Taking a stand, as if picketing for the sun

Back not so long ago, the planting seeds of dreams,

My dreams

Uncovering and being connected to the earth

Digging in the soil to unfurl

Like the fern, unrolling,

like the pod popping open,

the shell cracking from the pecking

The desire for making space and

To take up space

To know the importance of what I want

Only me, mine, special it is

As in the growth that is coming

The expansion of that vision

The role playing uniqueness of one, and then

The naming

Oh for so much clarity to come through

The belief in the vision

The pounding of the wanting

You know, when you feel it in your chest

And your heart beating so fast and

You know, finally, that you do know

Wanting that self-sufficiency

To be fed from my own hands

To grow from the garden, within

To the forefront, to be seen and loved and

Ah, so beautiful and delicious

That abundance of living

Water flowing, from a trickle to a waterfall

Producing the drips and the drops and the blast of intention

Attention

ideas

Then showing up and showing face,

no apologies, with the follow through,

Because I can, still

growing stronger, from being fertile,

feeling the power of the conception

To the inception

weeding out the unwanted

Feeling for the flourishing, the nourishing

The nurturing of the desires

uncovering and being connected

To what is calling me, from me

The feeling and the lightness of the releasing of stuck words, too,, is glorious.

Oh, that flow. With a familiar ease. A craving to express but allowing instead of pushing into it. I can tell you how great it feels to have even just a few words “emerge”, as things are shifting again for me around my entire life. Change is in the air, and this is a time of renewal and rebirth. 

Have you felt like that, when you were creating? Your new business? A painting? Writing? Dancing? Cooking? Anything, but with that flow of recognition, of a feel-good thing you were doing, a right thing. Stepping up into your power and your purpose. 

Usingi words and writing as a time of regeneration, renewal, inspiration, cleansing, re-emerging!

Sometimes I wonder where the words went

That at one time were on free flow

Did I use them up?

On the slow ride through spring

Viewing all that I have become

Wandering from chapter to chapter 

Inside and out

Clearing

Cleansing and releasing

Is more about the re-opening 

To allow for more of that free-flow

The no holds barred feeling

Of moving into the blossoming, the re-emerging

Or the busting out

Rewriting the script

Dismantling the used-up bits, the rusty pieces

From the body to the page

Emerging

With the fresh eyes of the unfurling fern

Slowing allowing the words to rewrite themselves

From down deep

They are still buried under the dirt

Planting new seeds alongside the seasoned roots

I can feel the new story emerging

With the inner and outer badass, the rebel, the enchantress,
The sensual beauty, the quiet dancer,
The in-your-face-you’ve-got-this leader, the hungry listener,
The poetic guru

Truly taking the time to soften, to zone in, to unfold
Letting go of the self-imposed expectations,
the imprisoned body that must carry on — says who?
The physically imposed limitations that say stop now, fool…
You’ve really done it now, this time…
But not allowing that voice in, only listening to the gremlin,
Instead I’m bringing in the house of my holy, into myself, my beloved
Forever the audacious queen,
Continuing to step up, to leap big
Shedding scales of my skin
Busting up the bricks of that freakin wall
That I built so long ago
To reveal, the big reveal
The glory and the power and the purple mountains majesty
Of my creative juices flowing like a volcano
Ahhh. the vision clearing, burning away the old
And my stories being rewritten, I see the writing on my walls
Inner visions, by me, for me

What a delight to share Katherine Campbell with you today…how her life changed at age 62! From quitting her corporate marketing career to venturing into teaching wellness and fitness and then she started singing in a choir, never had any history in singing!

Then she heard a ukelele jam and changed her course… she went out immediately and bought one, then incorporated that into her workout programs and then went full force into playing the uke. She plays around town (she now lives in Palm Springs, moving back to CA from Florida) for lots of older folks.

And then, she decided to go back to college to get an Associates degree in Applied Music (she already has a Masters!), and now wants to just play music!

What a lively conversation, you will enjoy our chat!

More about Katherine:

My love of seniors and playing my ukulele pulled me to entertaining those afflicted with dementia. Having never sung or having played an instrument, I joined a local chorus and learned how to sing and play simple chords on the ukulele at the age of 62. 

I moved to Palm Springs in the fall of 2020. Since then I have secured several regular clients, joyfully bringing memories through oldies but goodies to many memory care communities in the valley.

This past year, I began a degree program, studying voice, at our fabulous local college, College of the Desert. I am surrounded by 19 and 20 year olds. There is great joy in singing together and encouraging each other. I am so grateful to be accepted into these creative young people’s world! 

So now, it’s never too late to pick up an instrument, or take a dance class, or paint a picture, or write a poem! How much fun you can create for yourself and your people around you, and inspire others too!

Meet Rae Leonard! I just love introducing you to the variety of  amazing entrepreneurs, artists, healers, who have stories to share and skill to teach and are inspirations on living life to the fullest!

Rae and I talk about her youth and problems with alcohol and drugs, mixing with her spiritual quests and practices and how she could let the abusive dependencies finally dropped away…her intuitive abilities really kicked in.

Forget the dualist life in her late 40’s!

And how the hormones change in later life, plus she got sober and teaches others to stay high naturally, with conscious language, mantra, music, frequency support, and changing habits!
