Know the Novel— Part Two: Within the WIP

(Image of my five RLtG MCs done by Paige Coffer)

Today we're doing part two of a three part series linkup hosted by Christine Smith. In which I divulge what a typical NaNo looks like in my house. AKA you're about to find out that I don't actually know as much about my WIP as I claim to...

 1. How’s the writing going overall?

It started out a bit slowly. I finished a project on October 30th and every time I finish one project I tend to have a difficult time switching gears and plunging into an entir...

Of Stars and Shadows Release Party

 So, I did a thing.
I published Of Stars and Shadows last Friday. It was supposed to be a weekend venture, but I just sort of decided that I wanted to get it done. So somehow, I did. And I'm not entirely sure how I added all of my editor's copyedits (there had to have been at least 400), formatted, and published my book without even a drop of caffeine, but I'm certain that when time comes to pay up for those dark bargains I made, I'll probably be sorry...
But in the meantime, LET'S CELEBRATE!!!

(fr...

WIP Aesthetics Part Four

(Images via Pinterest)
Today's WIP is not actually technically a WIP yet. Once upon a time A Matter of Curiosity was a WIP, I'm actually have more than 40,000 words written in it but I've had it shelved for a couple of years because it just kept getting bumped back due to the fact that it ties in with A Season of Subterfuge, Courtiers, and War Councils and so cannot be published until after that one (and that one has caused me a good bit of trouble in the past). I'm not entirely sure if I am goin...

WIP Aesthetics Part Three

(Images via Pinterest)
Today's post is about my upcoming standalone release A Tale of Gods and Glory. I'm writing this post about a month in advance and really hoping that by the time it publishes I'll be done writing AToGaG (popping in to say that yessss I did indeed finish AToGaG, it took me writing more than 80,000 words in less than 20 days but I finished the first draft on Saturday!). I've not really talked about this story much beyond the occasional mention so here's a bit more of what it'...

Know the Novel Part One: Introduction

(all images via Pinterest)
As November looms on the horizon it's high time I finally announce my NaNo project. And guess what... it's the same exact project I worked on last year. Believe it or not, I actually won NaNoWriMo last year, well, obviously I didn't write a whole novel in the month or else I wouldn't still be working on it a whole year later, but I did write 50,000 words in the month. And no, I didn't put RLtG down through all of 2021 only to just now pick it up to finish it. I've been ...

WIP Aesthetics Part Two

(Images via Pinterest, I take no credit for them)
Today's WIP is A Season of Subterfuge, Courtiers, and War Councils. This project is actually already written so I'm really just editing. I wrote it back in 2019 and it's been a while since I've talked about it so here's a little recap on what it's about...
Genre: Young adult, portal fantasy.
It's about four extremely unexperienced teenagers learning how to survive in a world they never even knew existed before they ended up trapped in it. It is full...

WIP Aesthetics Part One

(Images via Pinterest)

Welcome to the first post in my new blogging series talking about the aesthetics of my current projects. I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for proper aesthetics. I have spent far more time on Pinterest than I would care to admit; and honestly one of the things that I have to figure out before I can work on a book alongside characters, plot, and romance is actually aesthetics. I have mood boards, and story themed playlists, and I can't work on stories unless the vibe ...

A Super Informative Post

The sign-up sheet for the cover reveal of OSaS is finally up: Sign up here!

Okay, now that is out of the way I have a bit of an admission to make. So there's been a slight change of plans. And yes I'm sure you're all so surprised by now because I never ever change my plans suddenly and unexpectedly and in the span of only one week. I say this all rather sarcastically, but it's fine. I'm adaptable and so too must be my plans.

But before I get into that slight change of plan, I have a HUGE announcem...

What I did in September

I didn't get quite as much done this month as I would have liked due to a bout of bad health and some unforeseen situations arising. The first couple of weeks of September chewed me up and spat me back out which I think was rather rude of them, but ah well, what's done is done. Also I reached the end of my prescheduled blog posts so I'm actually typing this up right now in the present days away from when I am actually supposed to post it. I really liked prescheduling, kept my time free to do mor...
