He's a funny boy…

Husband, who originally hails from PA, wishes to make a U-Turn but is prevented by posted traffic signs.

Husband: New Jersey is such an ass backwards state.

Me: Whatever. We invented the light bulb. What did Pennsylvania ever invent?

Husband: America.

I am madly in love with this writing quote…

"The day I start a book 200 other people start books. And they're smarter, and funnier, and more talented than I am, and you would enjoy them much more than you're enjoying me. But too bad for them and too bad for you, 'cause I'm the guy that finished the book. That's the reality." -Stephen Hunter

Oddly inspiring in a "so what if I suck, I have the odds on my side!" kind of way. ;-)

Presenting Daddy Issues: a brand new one act drama from the author of The Love of Three Oranges

A young woman comes to terms with her relationship issues while facing the ghost of her past.

So, I have some exciting news. At long last, I am pleased to announce that I have a new play coming out. Well, technically, it's already out in eBook but the acting edition will be appearing at some point in the undetermined future. (I'll post as soon as I see that it's for sale, I'm usually the last to know these things.)

Shameless teasing (or News From the Future!)

This post was going to be an update on my June writing goals but, as is often the way with my strange and wonderful life, a whole bunch of exciting things happened as I sat down to write it and I'm too overstimulated to be contemplative about my original topic.

Here's the shortest word count update I think I've ever done: In total, I wrote 39,069 words in June. I thought about downing my word count goal for the year from 500,000 to 365,000 but as tomorrow is the exact middle...

De [space] Piano: My whole life is a lie

Every time I go to the doctor's for my yearly checkup, we go through the same routine. I hand the woman at the desk my insurance card and she fiddles with the computer for a while before saying, "I know you aren't a new patient, why can't I find you in the computer?"

Inwardly, I curse myself for forgetting to say this before I hand her the card and reply, "I was told on a past visit that they mistakenly put a space between the e and the p in my name when they first put me into ...
