I'm on the Wall Street Journal Blog!
And a bunch of people really, really, don't like me. I'd love to say I don't care, but my tattooed skin isn't quite that thick. I will say though, that most of what they've had to say doesn't matter to me. Nickel Plated has reviewed quite well so far, Booklist and an upcoming celebrity review being the most outstanding, but a few of these comments cut a little. Despite what some might say, I am published, and my editor loves this book, as do I.

More big news!
So I don't want to tip my hand, but a writer who I respect very much, and who has been a huge influence on my work, was cool enough to give Nickel Plated a look. And she loved it. The review should be up tomorrow on Amazon, but trust me, it's amazing. I owe this lady a beer, no doubt.
On a side note, if you can guess who it is in the comments, a signed ARC of Nickel Plated is headed your way.
Nickel Plated (and me) in the Grand Rapids Press
A fun article, written by the super awesome Nick Noel. Being reviewed in the Grand Rapids Press has long been a dream of mine, so I'm pretty darn happy about this.
First stop on the blog tour!

One week left…
Title says it all, only one week until Nickel Plated debuts! Better go ahead and get to pre-ordering!
Florida Roller Coasters
Florida has some amazing roller coasters, and over the past week, I was lucky enough to ride most of them. By far the best however, at least until Busch Garden's current project Cheetah Hunt is completed, was Sea World's Manta, a B&M flying coaster.
Manta was awesome! Super smooth, very intense at times, and wonderfully themed, Manta was easily the best of Florida. A close second would be the thrilling, yet too short Sheikra, of Busch Garden's.
Also of note were the rest of the Florida B&M's, but The Hulk and Montu were probably the best.
My daughter however, preferred the Disney rides, and Vekoma scored high for her, Expedition Everest and Rock N Roller Coaster being two of her faves, along with the infamous Space Mountain.

How to be annoying at a tattoo shop, Part One
Come into the store, ask for a piece of jewelry. When I come back with the piece of jewelry assembled, and with a price quote, tell me it's ridiculous and leave.
If you want to eat at McDonald's, that's fine, but don't expect to pay McDonald's prices when you do want a nice dinner. I don't sell cheap, Taiwanese jewelry, I sell good stuff, as a service to you. Idiots need to stay out of my store, you never buy anything anyways.

Booklist Starred Review for Nickel Plated!
I've been holding out on a big one, but now that it's in print I can shout it from the rooftops! Nickel Plated got a starred review in Booklist, the magazine of the ALA. This is awesome stuff, and thanks for even looking at my work Booklist, much less reviewing it. When I was self publishing, this kind of thing was so far out of my grasp it was insane, now, just a few years later, and I'm getting a publication of this stature enjoying my work. Truly a wonderful day.

GRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Loaded up the flash drive holding a bunch of my current work, including the super exciting long fiction I'm working on now…and that piece of long fiction is long gone, replaced by three lines of a short story I tried to get going a couple months ago.
Yes I know, and I don't want to hear it. Back up your work. This was the back up! Well, it was either start smashing stuff, or get back to it. Luckily, I wasn't that far, but still. I plan to be back to where I was in a few days. Guess I'm back to writing every day. Maybe this will spark me, even in the paranoid world of the about to be published.
