Look who dropped in…

Luke Daniels, who is reading "A God and Useful Hurt" for the Brilliance Audio edition, just happened to mosey on into the tattoo shop today. He was a really nice guy, and was as enthusiastic about the upcoming release as I am, which says a lot. He did not stay long enough for me to talk him into a tattoo chair, but it was super cool to get to meet him.

Not long now!

The publicity work for A Good and Useful Hurt is gearing up, and I couldn't be much more excited! I will be updating this more frequently as we get closer to the release date, and look forward to sharing all of the radness.

Yup, that about covers it. I'll have more soon, though I promise.

I can't believe I'm saying this…

but I kind of miss writing. The quick blast of edits on "A Good and Useful Hurt," followed by the whirlwind rush of pretty much running through the last half of "Blood Cake Bones" should have left me drained. Now, just a couple of weeks removed from that marathon, and I miss it already. Normally its a few months before I even want to write a short story, I already feel like I could start work on long fiction. I'm not going to, at least not seriously, until video game season is over. Yes, that's terrible, what can I say?

Early vibes my talented crew of first readers came back very positive for "Blood Caked Bones," and the already begun edits based on their demands are going swimmingly. I've got my fingers crossed on this one.

The Five Hundred

For the last three months I have been participating in a monthly writing challenge. The rules are listed in the link, but in a nutshell, a challenge phrase is listed, and the participants must write a word associated with that phrase no shorter than 400 words, and no longer than 600. It's pretty fun, and there's always some good stories on there.

And it's done.

The long writing project I've mentioned a few times on here is finished. Well, not like finished, finished, but I did write an entire first draft, then read and edited it.

It is the longest manuscript that I've ever written, and stands now at just over 90,000 words. So it's really only long by my standards. The working title is, "Blood Caked Bones" and it is quite different than just about anything I've ever written.

Hopefully it will see publication at some point in the future.

Super quick update.

Yup, the awesomeness is starting. I am so pumped right now.

P.S. For those throngs of you checking this thing, haha, I haven't been updating because I've been super-duper busy writing. The marathon is almost done though, in what is my longest written project of any type to date.
