JESUS SPEAK

Matthew 8:8

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

The centurion was like many of us and felt unworthy for Jesus to walk under his roof. However, he had enough faith that he knew if Jesus just spoke then it would be done. It was that simple then and it is that simple now. All God has to do is speak and you can be healed. He can speak and your finances fall in line. Have faith enough to know that when God speaks mountains are moved.

The Great Commandments

Matthew 22:36-40

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

If you love God with all of your being, you will want to walk the path he leads you down. Every commandment that he has given man will fall into place. You will do everything in your power to keep his word dear to your heart. You will not want the things of this world and you will keep from sin. If you love your neighbor as you love yourself, you will not covet their possessions not try to cause problems with them. Jesus was not saying that these are the only two commandments that you must follow. Jesus was saying that if you can do these two things, everything else will follow in line. He took the law and made it so simple that anyone could understand it. When you think about it, have you ever wanted to hurt someone you truly love? The answer is no. You want to make them happy with your actions. That first great commandment will make everything that God has laid out for us to fall in line. The second will only make it easier to follow the first, because it keeps you from jealousy and coveting.

Hated By Men

Mark 13:13

13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Hebrews 13:6

6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me

In the end it does not matter what man says. It does not matter what people agree with and it does not matter what the social norm is. Man can threaten you, try to make you agree with them, and even try and ruin your name. Keep standing strong. Keep holding to the truth of God’s word. God is our helper and he is there to stop those attacks. He will silence the enemy. All he needs us as Christians to do is to keep standing on his word.

Thankful Beyond Measure

1 Thessalonians 5:18
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Today is a day that we all talk about the things we are thankful for. We talk of our families, the food, and the times we will share with each other. Be thankful for the ones you have and for the ones who have went on to be with Jesus. I know there may be a empty plate at the table people keep looking at, mine will be my Mama’s. I know there those out there who lost someone closer to them. However, remember the Thanksgiving your loved one is having at this moment. Be thankful that God has them in his loving arms. Be thankful for the memories you get to share about them. Be thankful for the loved still here. Just always be thankful for the love of our Heavenly father.

The Wise Child

Proverbs 23:24

24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.

This not saying that a wise child is Einstein. What it means is a wise child to know right from wrong. A child that knows how to pray and seek God. It is the child that knows the things that will get them in trouble and keep from doing such things. This is how God wants us to be as his children. He wants us to follow his commandments and to stay away from the sin of the world. He wants us to be wise about our blessings and not squander them away. Be the wise child that makes our Heavenly Father proud.

Man Is Wrong

Proverbs 14:12

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Man will tell you that it is okay to break the vowel you took with God. Man will tell you it’s okay to wait to accept Christ. Man will even tell you that it is okay to never accept Christ as long as you are a good person. They are wrong. Men of this world did not die for your sin. Men of this world did not give you the breath of life. Men of this world does not offer you eternal salvation. You should choose to follow God and his word rather than men if this world.

Falling Down

Proverbs 16:18

18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall

My family lives in a house with stairs and for the three years we have live in that house I have taken in pride about not falling down those stairs. My wife has and always tells me to be careful and I have told her that I am not her, she has fallen on them, and I run up and down them. This morning I fail from the top and stopped at the bottom. I learned that even though I had gone three years without messing up, it can still happen. Christians are like that. The longer they go without making a mistake that they begin to think they are better than the ones struggling. They get so full of pride they never see the fall coming. Before they know it, they are knocked back down to their knees. Remember just because you don’t struggle and fall does not mean it can’t happen. Don’t get so full of pride that you miss a step and fall harder than anyone else.

He Still Loves You

2 Samuel 11:15

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

David was one of the greatest kings of Israel. He was loved by God and loved God. He was said to be after God’s own heart. However, David was far from perfect. He did some bad things. He had his friend killed to take his wife, yet God still loved him. He did not cast him to the side. David did pay a price for his transgressions, but God still loved him. Remember that when you think God does not love you. A man after God’s own heart can mess up as bad as David did and God still love him, he still loves you. If he did not love you he would not want you to be his child. He knows that you are going to mess up and fall down. But if you get up and continue to seek him, he will be right there for you.

At His Feet

Matthew 15:30

30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them

Sometimes we have to go a step farther than just laying our cares at the feet of Jesus. Sometimes you have to lay your whole self down and ask him to just fix all of you. There is nothing wrong with this. To be honest it is the best thing to do. When you get to the point of giving every part of you to Christ and realize that without him you are broken, you can be made whole. So, lay it all down at the foot of Christ.

Praise Him In The Storm

Matthew 8:24-25

24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish

So many times, Christians forget how to praise God when things get bad. They start begging him to save them, but forget all the times he has saved them before. Christians have become like the disciples. They were on a boat with Jesus and were so afraid they woke him up. They did not realize that he was never going to let them sink. All they had to do was trust in God and praise him. Christians need learn that the time to praise God is not when the battle is over but when it is the hardest point. This shows the enemy that we have our victory and that no matter what the enemy throws at us, it will fail. So, when you are being attacked on all sides, rejoice in that moment not when the battle is over.
