Rock Of Faith

Matthew 16:16-18

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Peter found the rock that we must all build our faith. Christ was not saying that Peter was to be the church. He was saying that by realizing that he was the son of God, he had found the messiah. Our first step in becoming a part of the church is by accepting that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and that he died for our sins. He is the only way into heaven. If we start our foundation with him, then nothing can tear us down. That rock that our foundation sets on is our faith that Christ is still setting at the right hand of the father, making intercession for us. So, build your foundation on the rock that is Jesus Christ.

False Religions

2 Peter 2:1
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction

Today, we see many claiming to have found the new way to God. Many claim that they know what God wants. However, if you ask them if they have accepted Jesus, their answer is sadly no. They think they do not need him. If they do not wake up, they will face the destruction of an eternity of torment. Do not fall into these beliefs and pray that God opens the eyes of these people.

Go Get Your Blessing

Joshua 18:3

3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

Many Christians will set back and say God I need a blessing, but they will never get up and go after their blessing. Christians will pray for bills to be paid but never make an effort to get a job. God can tell them to just walk to the mailbox, and a check will be there, and some are still too lazy to get up and go get it. Sometimes, God wants you to put in some work. Sometimes, God just wants to see if you are willing to chase after your blessing. He had promised the land to the children of Israel, and they wanted to set around and wait, so finally Joshua told them to get up and go get their blessing. So the question is, when are Christians going to get up and go get their blessings?

Heavenly Wisdom

James 3:15-17

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

People claim to have found wisdom here on earth. They know wisdom of how to cheat, steal, and lie without getting caught. Politicians will lie and cheat thier way into office and sales men will lie and cheat you to steal you money. It is a false wisdom. The wisdom for earthy gain is not the wisdom a Christian should be seeking. Christians should seek the wisdom of God. Christians should seek the wisdom of how to walk daily in a manner that is pleasing to God. That wisdom is loving a righteous life that will give you more of a reward than any amount of money. That reward is eternal life in the presence of our God. So, seek the wisdom from above and the best way to do that is read your Bible and pray to God for guidance.

Leave Our Children Alone

Matthew 18:6-7

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Our children are subjected to a world of sin. People try to corrupt and confuse our children with gender identity and other things that they claim they are old enough to know. This is the enemy using our children to try and break our faith. Teach your children the truth. Teach them that God made them the gender they were born into, God made man and woman, and he defined the definition of marriage. The world has turned to attack our children and we see above what Christ had to say about that. It is time Christians take a stand and tell the world and the enemy to take their hands off of our children.

Church At Home

Matthew 18:20

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

With sickness going around, many have to miss church. Just because you can’t go to the actual church does not mean you and your family cannot worship at home. Take your spouse and kids set down with a Bible and study the word. Pray together. In fact Christians should be doing this through out the week anyways, because God should not only be in the church, God should be in the home.

Not Of God

John 8:47 

47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. 

People will go to church, set in the pew, but never take to heart any of the word of God. Most will get upset if the pastor teaches on something within their life and calls it a sin. They will pout and leave and go find another church to tickle their ears. They do this because they are not of God. They want the image of being in church, but do not want to follow the teaching laid out within the bible. All you can do is pray for them, because even though they set within your congregation, they are still lost and undone without God. When they leave your church to find another one, just pray that God will open their eyes to the truth. Pray that they learn to hear and take to heart the word of God. 

My Cup Runneth Over

Psalms 23:5

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Imagine your enemies, the people who talk about you, mock you, and lie on you having to watch as God blesses you. When that happens, it shows them that you are following God to the beat of your ability. When you look at those blessing you realize that your cup cannot contain the love that God gives to us. It is more love than we can understand. He gave us more of a blessing than we deserve when Christ died on the cross, but yet he still blesses us with more. I am so thankful that my cup runneth over.

Confess He Is Lord

Philippians 2:10-11

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

One day we will all stand before him. One day we will hit our knees and confess that Jesus Christ is lord. The only question will be if you have humbled yourself here on earth to make this confession. I pray that you have. I pray that you are counted among the ones to enter into heaven.

Good For Evil

Romans 12:21
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

As a child I would get mad when someone would do something to my father only for him to turn around and help them a week later. He would always say just because that Jesus went through allot worse and still forgave the ones beating him. Now I know what he meant. When you return evil for evil, it creates a cycle that cannot stop. However, if you return good to the ones who do you wrong, then it stops the cycle. It is what Christ wanted us to do. He wanted us to be able to pray for our enemies and if we are returning evil hiw can we do that?
