What To Do If You're In A Toxic Environment

Courtesy of Jkitans (via Flickr)

Recently dealing with this, I wanted to give others some insights into what you might want to do if you feel stuck in a "toxic environment."  No matter your business or personal challenge… I think it's all one in the same in how to handle it.

First off, how do you know you're in a toxic environment?

I think you really have to know yourself well.  What happened to me is that I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin with where I was at.

I was then around other...

A Free eBook By Jared Matthew Kessler

Dominating Your Inner Batter

Inner batter work is hard. Not many of us want to do it – and I for one struggle with it in both my business and personal life.

Yet at the same time, it's helped me and others that I know to thrive past the masses, meaning this…

We don't care what the statistics say, how we were brought up or what other people might say about us – we just do what we do in our own unique way (and we're not afraid to do it).

And just to clarify...

Can't Find A Job? Create Your Own – A Reader's Success Story.

Courtesy of Lazy Afternoon (via Flickr)

Much like you, when I hear people's story of what they do to find decent work… it just upsets me that they can't even "get in the door."  Inspired by a recent business professional, I wanted to share a bit of his story that I thought would help.

As you're probably aware, now more than ever a lot of people out there are ditching the ridiculous interview process and politics of just "trying to get into a good company with great benefits."

However at the...

The Stigma Of Being Unsuccessful

Part of me doesn't want you to know this. The other part does. It's the perception of what you think of me (versus who I really am) – because of the stigma people have of what "success" is and is not.
Lost in a cloud of wanting you to believe me and buy everything I worked [...:]

Am I A Buttered Roll?

A plain buttered roll is so fucking boring!  But it's everywhere.  I mean just the other day I was thinking if Saturn cars never made a profit since they've been in business… why are they still making them?
It's a bad fucking idea!
And so what the huge automobile maker does is make an ok car, fill [...:]

Banning Art In The Workplace

It's a shame to say that most large corporations do this – they ban art.  Why I say that, is because of the 30 different organizations I've worked at to fund my own art, never once did any higher level management or executives show any interest in the innate gifts and talents of their people.
Not [...:]

Save The Environment Escape Work And Take Flight.

Overworked And Underpaid – Music Shapes Our Business And Personal life Whether We Know It Or Not.
We don't often realize how much music has become the soundtrack to our lives.  As with anything, it's sometimes lost in a popularity contest and technological advances through the internet… virtually giving anyone the ability to make and take [...:]

Piercing The Corporate Layer Of Bullshit: A New Kind Of Speaker Leading A New Kind Of Generation

I just got off the phone with someone who obviously has no clue about who I am and what I've done.  Proceeding to tell me about how to do this and that… I felt like I was at a friggin Tony Robbins event ten years ago.
Fucking boring!
He asked me about my vision.  Being clear.  Visualization [...:]

Where You Are Can Become Who You Are

If you've been reading my last few emails, tweets and Facebook page lately… you're probably aware that I've been visiting family over the last few weeks.  Staying in an older retirement community, things always seem a bit skewed compared to other places I've visited for extended periods of time.
In short, I feel pretty crazy – [...:]

Reinvention In Progress – Please Excuse My Appearance

I don't think many businesses and people reinvent themselves much these days.  It's not so much that they can't, it's that the only thing people can come up with to just quit if things don't work out.  Lame!  To me, these companies and people should bury their head in the sand – and many have.
But [...:]
