Release the Dragons of Pemberley!

Dragons are not known for their patience and the Dragons of Pemberley insisted on immediate release. So with no further ado, here they are!Homecomings never live up to expectations.

After a visit to London filled with more fairy tale intrigues—kidnappings, dragon battles, secret societies—than any woman had right to experience, Dragon Sage, Lady Elizabeth Darcy, only wants to return to the serenity and safety of Pemberley estate.

Likewise, Sir Fitzwilliam Darcy, knight of the P...

new book excerpt-The happiest couple in the world

My thanks to all who weighed in a left me little comments on the last. I know some of you have felt apologetic about being not up to the angst you sensed coming in this one, and don’t worry, I totally get that! Some stories just insist on being told, and I had to follow my muse on this one, even knowing it might not be for everyone. My next will be lighter, I promise!

As promised, 3 winners from the last post! They are Jen Red, Susanne Barrett, and Dennissem3. I will be emailing you three!

As a ...

My Ukrainian Mr. Darcy

This is a big weekend at my house. Today is my husband Sasha’s birthday.

He is one of those guys who is so annoyingly good at things that if I didn’t love him, I would hate him.

He speaks six languages (and is working on more), is a caring and involved father, and excels at every sport involving running and a ball. (Seriously, in his year as an exchange student at an American high school, he was on the basketball team, the kicker on the football team, captain of the soccer team, and MVP of the ...

A Double Cameo for Ukraine by Diana Birchall

In our Austen Variations fundraiser for Ukraine, our authors offered cameos in their forthcoming novels in exchange for donations to the cause. My first cameo was written for donor Michelle d’Arcy (a most fortuitous name to work with!), to be included in my next novel The Darcys and Lord Byron in Venice, and it was posted here on March 11.

Now I have a double cameo for you – two stories, about two people. The introductor...

The Dragons of Pemberley

A friend recently asked me if it ever gets old, seeing a new story launching into the world. I replied, not really, the terror is entirely fresh each time around.

Five and a half years ago when Pemberley: Mr. Darcy’s Dragon escaped my custody and made her way out into booksellers, I had no clue the series would grow to 10 books, with more in the planning stages. Litte dragon Pemberley has grown now, insisting on having her share in the conversation. And with all the fear and trepidation that ...
