My Review
5 STARS
Pulled into the story from the first page, the author quickly throws you in without feeling confused. Some dystopian stories are heavily loaded with too much world building early on and lack character depth and suspense. Those books tend to read slow until you get a solid framework for the world. In the Palace of Lazar didn’t suffer from an information dump. In fact we were given exactly what we needed to know, when we needed it. The characters were well-developed and the story kept a steady pace of romance and suspense, constantly wanting the reader to pick up the next chapter. There were plenty of twists and turns, making In the Palace of Lazar a quick but also surprising read.
Set in a dystopian climate with danger mounting and romance budding, Briar is a virgin coming to the Palace to become a harem girl. Expect lots of sizzling scenes, spankings, and action.
Highly recommend to lovers of BDSM erotica or Dystopian erotica.

B is for BEA and my trip to NYC. . . Spanking Blogging Challenge #SpankA2Z
I just got back from BEA (BookExpo America) and let me say, it was quite an experience. We went home with more than four bags of new books, from authors I hadn’t heard of. Which is good, it gives me the opportunity to read something I might not have ordinarily had the opportunity to pick up. Publishers were giving books out the way people hand out candy on Halloween. I’ve been to many book events and large scale venues but nothing like BEA. Chicago Comic Con last August was the closest in scale, but there were a few book vendors at that event, instead of everyone with books. Plus at BEA you aren’t allowed to sell books. You have to give them away.
Of the four plus bags of books, I looked at the back cover of each one to decide if it was something I wanted to read and review. I picked up young adult and middle grade books that I’ll be featuring on Write Away Bliss along with adult novels (romance, sci-fi, thriller, etc) which will be reviewed on this blog, Ravyn Rayne.
I had the opportunity to attend BEA because my publisher Blushing Books / LazyDay Publishing had a booth at the event. On Wednesday I took part in a book signing at the autographing booth. I didn’t snap any photographs, but I know one of the girls that works at the publisher did. We had no idea how many people would be lined up, wanting a copy of Aberrant! We brought both Stolen Art and Aberrant to sign and giveaway on Wednesday.
I spent one day at BEA (Wednesday). Thursday was spent at the 9/11 memorial and Friday we took a water taxi to see the Statue of Liberty. It was my first trip to NYC. We stayed in Times Square, which was amazing to see how many people were there every day. I’ve been downtown to Chicago numerous times (I live in the suburbs), but even Magnificent Mile which is known for tourists and its shops, is bare compared to Times Square. There was always a rush of people, every where you turned. You can see some of my NYC pictures on Instagram.
On Saturday, I was back at the booth signing and selling books for BookCon. I was only there a couple of hours before we started our journey home (back to Chicago). Which was another event with the the funnel clouds and torrential downpour!

Okay. I couldn’t commit to either Alpha or Age Play. Choosing one was super difficult. It’s like picking your favorite kid, and well thankfully I don’t have that problem. No kids here! Just a niece and two nephews I adore.
So back to the topic of A.
Who’s your all-time favorite alpha character in a novel? How about in an age play romantic erotica? A well-written age play novel really needs an alpha, at least as far as I’ve read. (Have one that doesn’t and can convince me otherwise, then comment with what story I should read.)
My first age play novel that I read was by Elsa Black, Becoming Lil’ Mandy. It of course features alpha, Ethan Sharp.

Here’s my 5 star review and thoughts on the novel.
This is a fantastic story if you’re a virgin age play reader or avid lover of age play novels.
I read the sample on Amazon and then opted to buy the book. Why age play? I was curious what all the fuss is about.
It was incredibly well written, free of grammatical errors. The plot was well paced and moved smoothly between chapters. It took me three days to read this book. It’s not incredibly long but it is a little long for an erotica novel. That’s not a bad thing, be prepared to feel invested in both the characters and the story line.
Here’s the thing, it’s not just erotica. There’s a plot and I appreciated the underlying tones to the plot (prison, the institute) and I’m curious to see where those subplots go in the next book.
As for the sex scenes they are steamy and there is some kink. If you’re looking for an age play novel, definitely give this one a shot.
