Update on print preorders + preorder campaign for One World

Good news! Preorders for the print editions of One World are becoming available across retailers as we speak. You can preorder the paperback of One World from a variety of sources, including your local indie bookstore through Bookshop.org. The hardcover will also be available in the coming days. I wanted to make a quick post for all of you regarding the pricing. Because the book is quite long (print edition is 560 pages), it’s expensive, with the hardcover coming in at $28.99 and the paperback a...

Preorder campaign for ONE WORLD is live!

One World, the FINAL book in The Iamos Trilogy, is coming out on October 24! You’ll know that I always do a preorder campaign when I’ve got a new book coming out, and this time is no different. Preordering the ebook The ebook preorder is live at most retailers (Google Play won’t let me until I’ve got the ebook file for them, so probably sometime in September). You can find a handy link to your favorite retailer here! Anyone who preorders the ebook is eligible to receive a free art postcard of Na...

ONE WORLD is coming October 24!

You may already know this, since I’ve posted it just about everywhere except here on my website… but if you didn’t know: One World is finished! Finally! After all this time, it finally has an actual, OFFICIAL release date! One World, the final book of the Iamos Trilogy, will be published on October 24, during Ace Week! 🎉🎉🎉 I am very excited to finally be bringing you all the conclusion to this series. I know it’s been a long time coming, and it’s been just as hard for me as it’s been for all of ...

Why my books are no longer returnable through Ingram

I wrote a draft of this post back in January and then never published it because I was lacking the spoons to deal with all of this. However, some stuff has come up that made me feel it was important to finally get this out there and address this issue. First, a disclaimer: The content of this post is entirely speculation on my part. The evidence I do have, while I consider it convincing, is ultimately circumstantial, so please bear in mind that this is just my personal theory and not any kind of...

Finding balance with chronic illness

Is it time for one of Lyssa’s semiannual life posts? I guess so! I blogged previously about what set off the major symptom flare I went through from late 2020 through 2021. And in this post I alluded to the fact that that self-analysis helped me identify what sets major symptom flares off. Basically, it’s pretty much the simple formula of too much work and/or too much stress. It’s something that I kind of already knew, the problem is that I had not correctly quantified how much is too much. I wa...

My books are now on Smashwords! And they’re on sale!

As I mentioned earlier this year, thanks to the Draft2Digital and Smashwords merger, books distributed through D2D were going to be available on the Smashwords Store sometime this year. And that time is now! You can now find all my ebooks on Smashwords here. And this came just in time for the annual Smashwords end-of-year sale! That means you can grab all my books at 75% off on Smashwords now through January 1. Pricing for my books is as follows: Fourth World: $0.99 Different Worlds: Free! New W...

Discussion guide for The Iamos Trilogy now available!

Over at Snowy Wings Publishing we’ve been putting together resources for librarians and educators, including discussion guides for any teacher who may want to use a book in their classroom or librarian who may be hosting a teen book club. To that end, I’ve just released a discussion guide for The Iamos Trilogy, which includes questions related to both Fourth World and New World. Upon release, the guide will also be updated to include a page for One World. These questions would also work if you a...

It won’t be 2022

Let’s get right to the point. I started to write you all a long, blathery blog post about it, but it got really rambly and made no sense, so here’s the very cut and dried version: I am very sick. I set off another symptom flare. Because of previous self-analysis and paying closer attention to what I was doing, I do know what I did to set it off this time, which hopefully will allow me to, you know, not do that in future. But that doesn’t change the fact that I am in a flare now and can’t will my...

A couple podcasts

Back in March, I recorded not one, but two podcasts! That was a brand new experience for me, and then I wound up doing it twice over the course of one month. But it was a lot of fun! Both podcasts have now gone live, so you can listen to them and learn a little more about each one here. To All the YA I’ve Loved Before The first is an interview with fellow YA author Kaycee Racer about what life was like as a teen, which honestly was kind of a funny thing to talk about, because it’s been years sin...

Listen to me on “To All the YA I’ve Loved Before”

Last month I recorded two podcasts, and the first of those went live today! To All the YA I’ve Loved Before featured me and Cheerleaders from Planet X as part of their “Alien April” month, including an interview with me and then a review of the book. I really enjoyed talking with fellow YA author Kaycee Racer about what life was like as a teen, which honestly was kind of a funny thing to talk about, because it’s been years since I even thought about it! You Know You’re Old When™. But it was actu...
