Welcome to the new site!
Hey everybody! If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice that things are looking a bit different. I was tired of the old look, so I decided to give the site a makeover and switch to WordPress while I was at it—if only because it lets me do snazzy things like that slideshow on the first page! It also lets me incorporate my blog into the website, so over the next several days, I’ll be importing my old blog posts from LiveJournal.
I also have some exciting news about Fourth World today, but it’s...

WATER ON MARS!! And more.
Hi everyone! Long time, no post. I have been a busy bee the last few months, finishing up on Fourth World, helping a friend with an editing project, and blogging on The Pack of Aces. I have more info about what I’ve been up to below, but first matters first:
Did you hear the news? NASA announced today that they’ve found evidence of liquid water on Mars! And not as in “water in ancient times”—liquid water! on Mars! now!
This is very exciting to me, probably for a weird reason—see, I was bankin...

Interview with author Allan Davis
To celebrate the release of Perchance to Dream, I’m interviewing some of the authors featured in the anthology. Our last interview is with Allan Davis.
Tell us a little bit about your story, “A Midwinter Night’s Brainwashing.”
“A Midwinter Night’s Brainwashing” is one part Shakespeare, one part Inception, two parts the Matrix… and four parts Groundhog Day. It’s all built around what Puck did in the original, and how a similar series of mistakes, misunderstandings, and technical mishaps could...

Interview with author Jane Watson
To celebrate the release of Perchance to Dream, I’m interviewing some of the authors featured in the anthology. Today’s interview is with Jane Watson!
Tell us a little bit about your story, “The Taming of the Dudebro.”

Interview with authors Jon Garett and Richard Walsh
We’re back with more author interviews celebrating the release of Perchance to Dream! Today we’re hearing from the ever-hilarious Jon Garett and Richard Walsh.
Tell us a little bit about your story, “Shoulders of Giants.”
Jon: Richard and I have always been drawn to the pulpy side of fiction. An image popped into our heads of telling TA as a 50s style sci fi story- you know, bubble helmets, flying cars and rainbow disintegration rays; you know, all that stuff that we were promised but don’t...

Interview with author Alex Irwin
To celebrate the release of Perchance to Dream, I’m interviewing some of the authors featured in the anthology. Today’s interview is with Alex Irwin, who adapted Hamlet for her story. Hamlet is the only Shakespearean work that got two adaptations in the anthology, and the reason for that is because I was so blown away by how Alex and Megan Reynolds were able to come up with such drastically different takes on the same piece of literature. Not only were their premises polar opposites—one a qui...

Interview with author Patricia Scott
To celebrate the release of Perchance to Dream, I’m interviewing some of the authors featured in the anthology. Today’s interview is with Patricia Scott!
Tell us a little bit about your story, “Mark Corey.”
“Mark Corey” translates Coriolanus from the battlefield to a baseball diamond. It’s the story of star pitcher Mark Corey, who has his life planned out and probably is a little too attached to his own hype.
What drew you to write an adaptation of Coriolanus? It’s one of Shakespeare’s lesse...

Interview with author Selenia Paz
To celebrate the release of Perchance to Dream, I’m interviewing some of the authors featured in the anthology. Today’s interview is with Selenia Paz!
Tell us a little bit about your story, “Lisbeth.”
Lisbeth is the story of two friends, Lisbeth and Bianca, who have known each other all their lives. When the story begins, they are attending a Dia de los Muertos gathering at a local cemetery in Mexico with their grandparents, who are their caretakers. They visit the tents that have been set u...
