Coming soon

Ohhh...today was a treasure trove of pictures at RT, but it's wayyyy too late to blog them tonight. Tomorrow, we'll have a good post. You'll see.

In the meantime, here's the next Penguin Australia Spirit Bound teaser. Warning: there will probably be spoilers from other books in the comments if people discuss it. Enjoy!

Wide awake and dreaming

So, Romantic Times kicked off for real today, though admittedly, it was a slow start. That was because instead of downing two vitamins when I got out of bed this morning, I actually took two of the pills I take at night to sleep. How many do I usually take to sleep? One. So, yeah. You can imagine my panic when I realized that and began to feel woozy 20 minutes before my first panel of the day. Fortunately, Kat Richardson was ready with coffee for me, and it was amazing how far that went to ke...

Romantic times, good times, etc.

Those keeping up with my adventures will know that I flew out to Columbus, Ohio today for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. I headed out with a group of authors from Seattle, joined up with Heather Brewer at our layover in Chicago, and then ran into the Dallas Authors at the Columbus baggage claim. It's unbelievable. You can't throw a stone without hitting one of my friends, especially in the van we rode in to the hotel. The crazy part isn't that the van held ten people. The crazy par...

Ohio this week + Spirit Bound teasers

Okay, first up: my husband's reminded me that this is the last week to vote for Blood Promise over at the Children's Book Council Awards. So if you want to help give a big push, follow that link, click 'Teens' and vote!

In other news, thanks so much again to those who came and saw me in Los Angeles. Tomorrow I'll be flying out to Columbus, Ohio for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention, which always pulls in some of this blog's best pictures. Twitter and Facebook followers can also expect g...

24 hours in LA

Today I earned my keep at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, which was a much bigger affair than I imagined. It pretty much dominated all of UCLA's campus and was a wonderland of tents, booths, and buildings. I showed up there bright and early--by which I mean 1pm--with Heather Brewer, author of the Vladimir Tod series.

We signed books for long lines of readers but were on a limited time schedule, so we had to clip certain things, like posed pictures. People could take action shots of u...

Los Angeles Times

In case you missed me saying it a hundred times, I'm in Los Angeles tonight! I'll be appearing at the LA Times Festival of Books tomorrow, doing signings and a panel with some other cool authors who write YA vampire books. Info is here.

In fact, I ran into one of those authors tonight while I was checking in. I'd barely gotten my hotel room key when I turned around, and lo! There was Rachel Caine, author of the Morganville Vampires series. She was a welcome sight both because she's one of my f...

Quick and cool updates

First off, I'm making one more reminder to those in Los Angeles to come see me and all the awesomeness that'll be ensuing at the L.A. Times Book Festival this Saturday. If you've missed the times and info, you can again find it right here.

Next, if you haven't heard it elsewhere, the Last Sacrifice release date has been moved up from December 14 to December 7. So yay! It has nothing to do with when the book is finished or anything like that since the writing will be done long before then. Peng...

The nitty gritty on tours and travel

Yesterday, I mentioned that I'll be at the L.A. Times Book Festival this coming weekend at UCLA. If you missed it and live in Los Angeles, check the post because I'd love to see you!

Whenever travel comes up, everyone asks me to visit their city. It makes me sad because I really do wish I could meet all my readers everywhere! That would be so great. But, alas, that's not possible. The whole process is pretty complex, and I thought I'd copy over a post I did on Facebook that kind of explains ...

Hello there, blog. Long time no see.

Yikes. I can't believe I'm pushing almost two weeks with no blog entry. I heartily apologize! I really, really love blogging. I know some authors who hate it, but not me. Oddly, though, I haven't been up for blogging recently. I'm not sure why, but I'll try to return to my normal groove.

For those wondering what's going on in Richelle Land, I'm rapidly nearing the deadline for Last Sacrifice's second draft, at which point I'll switch over to Iron Crowned's first draft for a while. So, if I'm q...

More author sightings

As mentioned in my previous hasty post, tonight my husband and I went out to see an author extravaganza. My pals Mark Henry, Jeanne Stein, and Jaye Wells had a Q&A and signing at University Bookstore tonight. Author Cory Doctorow was also part of the event, and though I'd never met him before, he proved to be as entertaining as the rest of them.

I must admit...wow. This was a super intellectual author talk! Those guys were discussing some pretty deep topics. I think I'm spoiled by my readers g...
