Redesigned Succubus Blues is out today!
Just a quick note before I sprint out the door: the new, redesigned edition of Succubus Blues is out today (in the U.S.)! This isn't a new installment in the Georgina series (Succubus Revealed comes out autumn 2011). It's book #1 with a new cover and more compact size. Since it's mass market, it also has a lower price! So, now you can pick it up if you haven't read it yet...or get it and convert friends if you have read it. :)

Stargazing
Some of you might have noticed that when I get back from a trip, it usually takes me a few days to start blogging again. I seem to need some recovery, plus this has been a busy week. But now I have a small spot of time to finish up my SDCC recap by addressing an issue from Comic-Con that's very important to all of us: celebrity sightings.
Now, the con was bursting with celebrities from SF/Fantasy shows and movies--and pretty much any other cult entertainment that isn't a family sitcom, reality...

Comic-Con Souvenir
I apologize for the radio silence over the weekend, but I wasn't able to get internet (aside from my phone) while in San Diego. But, after a great weekend of seeing the madness that is Comic-Con and meeting lots of great readers, I'm finally home and able to share with you the big announcement that was made on Saturday.
Vampire Academy is going to be made into a graphic novel:

Pretty awesome, huh? That's the cover, and the full book will be out sometime next year. I *think* late summer, but I'...

San Diego Comic-Con
I keep referring people to my main website, but I figured I'd throw my detailed SDCC schedule up here too for anyone that's going. The events are only open to those attending the con, which is now sold out. Since I just had a public bookstore signing in San Diego a couple months ago, I won't be doing anything outside of con activities for this trip.

Last Sacrifice cover...at last
Wow. After months of watching people pass unfinished versions of this around the internet, I'm excited to finally be able to put the real version of this up. Here ya go, the actual cover of Last Sacrifice:

Penguin's art department polished this one up for a while, which is why it's taken so long and why there are different versions out there. And that's usually what's going on when something isn't "officially" up on my site: the final form just isn't ready. That's also why excerpts from new bo...

Vampire Academy Tattoos!
As promised, something cool today!
At long last, the molnija mark's artist has finally unveiled two of the other much-anticipated tattoos from the Vampire Academy series.
First, the promise mark:

And, the zvezda mark, aka "the battle mark" given to those with too many Strigoi kills to count.

Cool, eh? Zvezda is Russian for star, just as molnija is Russian for lightning. As you can see, VA kind of keeps the naming system simple.
Anyway, Arcane Vault is going to be unleashing a line of new shirts a...

Vacation Pictures 5: Santa Fe and the end of the road
Well, here we are. Five posts and over fifty pictures later, we finally reach the end of my vacation recap. It's like being subjected to a slide show at a relative's, huh? And when I say 'slide show,' I'm thinking of slide projectors, not anything having to do with PowerPoint. So, my reference is probably lost on some here.
Anyway, after taking on Roswell and Alamogordo, my husband and I drove up to the city of Santa Fe, which could have very well been on another planet. The towns we saw in so...

Vacation Pictures 4: Wait...there's more than Roswell?
Yes, there really is. We were on vacation for eight days in New Mexico, and there's no way we could have handled staying in Roswell for more than the three nights we did. It was time to move, on to see what awaited us in the...

That's a sign inside the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo. It was a part of a timeline display showing man's progress throughout history. Clearly, they wanted to keep their options open for later. Like any good space museum, you could buy astronaut ice c...

Vacation Pictures 3: Who weeps for the Roswell Mall?
I do.
While visiting Roswell, my husband and I spent a good amount of time at the Roswell Mall. I mean no disrespect to it or the city, but...it's kind of a depressing place. That assessment can't come as a surprise to anyone who has visited the mall. It's a dying mall. You know the kind, where barely half the stores are open and the rest are boarded up or going out of business. There's always an eerie silence. I grew up with two malls like that, and I think my hometown might have three now. I...

Vacation Pictures 2: Unidentified FUN Objects
Okay, now that we've seen the outer shell of Roswell, it's time to delve deep into its core. My husband and I specifically timed our trip there to line up with the UFO Festival, an annual event every Fourth of July weekend to commemorate the "incident" in July 1947.
Contrary to my initial belief, people do not flock from all over the world to attend the festival. Most people there are locals, and it has more to do with community entertainment than hardcore UFO examination (see my reflections f...
