True Story...
A monkey once came home a few years ago, and soon became a pet. He lost his family as they were migrating through the city, so we gave him a home until someone from his troop came to collect him. One day he just refused to eat unless we served him what we ourselves were eating. He began to desire South Indian foods, appalams especially. Flicked his ears every time it crackled as he bit. Cute thing. After we refused to let him eat at our table and only gave him 'monkey food' (raw fruits, milk, eggs, etc.) he left one day and never came back. Goes to show even monkeys have favourites and preferences. Even monkeys want what they want. And when they feel ignored or neglected, they pack up and leave. In our pet monkey's case, he literally packed up and left coz his favourite toy teddy and child's stretchy pants (which he wore at home) were missing the next day along with him.

Creative...
Creator 1: "Let's take the Humans, put them all on a hostile planet, and see if they can learn to adapt and coexist."
Creator 2: "They can never do that. this species is scheduled for erasure. Too many defects. They are supposed to go extinct."
Creator 1: "It's in their nature to do all the things that are not good for them. so Let's send them to Earth and might as well put on a show."
Creator 3 [takes micro-glasses off and stares at Creator 1]: "Are you having a stroke?"
Creator 1: "Yes. A stroke of genius."

Connection or Coincidence?
The Maha-Lakshmi – the Hindu Goddess of wisdom, strength, beauty, luck, sovereignty, and splendour – is known to take different forms. Forms, not Vahanas (or deific vehicles), like peacocks and other animals. In Hindu belief, she is said to take the form of a Bat (the flying mammal); link in description. I wonder if Bob Kane (artist) and Bill Finger (writer) who created the fictional comic-book character Batman knew way back when about the Maha-Lakshmi taking this form. In ancient Indian texts, it is understood and accepted that seeing a bat is a sign of coming prosperity (loosely defined). The bat is still worshipped in several parts of India as a form of the Maha-Lakshmi. And we see Bruce Wayne as a character being wealthy and prosperous, adopting the Batman as his strong alter-ego to fight crime in the corrupt city of Gotham using wisdom (A distinct Maha-Saraswati trait here) gained from years of training, and not a small amount of luck helping him along. It is also curious that while most people presume bats are a source of disease, they also emit chemicals that have proven to kill epidemic-causing bacteria; link in description. This is again similar to how the Maha-Lakshmi bestows blessings strong enough to remove obstacles that keep people from receiving wealth and other good things, and akin to how Batman's appearance in Gotham gradually started ridding the city of its criminal rot. Also, one of the Maha-Lakshmi's alternate names is 'Bhuvaneshwarya' which has strange tonal and syllabic links to the name 'Bruce Wayne'. Then there are the colours black, blue, and yellow, three hues sacred to the Maha-Lakshmi, but also seen on batman. So what's the link between the ones who created Batman and the pre-Vedic worship of one of India's most supreme Goddesses?

End...
There is nothing more terrifying nor more blissful than knowing how it's all going to end.

Love...
Love is the cruellest pursuit of all. Deadlier than a pit of snakes, that one. For even after its bite is done, the poison lingers on. Death soon follows, and not the painless kind. For all roses come with thorns. And even the most mesmerising of serpents won't stop to listen to romantic poetry before they plunge their fangs in your flesh and have done with it.

Delayed, Denied...
There's a saying: 'Justice delayed is justice denied'.
Much the same can be said of compliments and courtesies.

Mer-Human...
Aside from the fact that we have webs and gills when we're a developing foetus, here's probable proof that humans have aquatic origins... We walk and run in ways that are shockingly similar to how our bodies move when swimming, either on the surface of water or under it. The angle and direction of limb movements vary only slightly. Since all life most probably began in the ocean, our land movements were most probably inspired by those of our ancient Mer-Human ancestors from whom our evolutionary branch diverged.

Valhalla...
If I ever get a cat or dog as a pet companion in future, I would like to name them 'Valhalla'. That way, whenever my cat meows or my dog barks, I can slowly turn to my friends with a serious battle-ready expression, pretend to dab war-paint on my face and say, "Valhalla is calling me..." I bet the Vikings will approve and raise their mead horns as they laugh and yell, "Skol!"

Flies...
Always hated that saying 'You attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar'. Most people don't seem to grasp the fact that dead and rotting corpses attract more flies than either. It is a testament to one's deplorably low standards to even want to attract flies in the first place.
