Books...

When books become companions, you’ll find yourself in good company.

Family...

Family is like a regiment and everyone in it, a soldier.

Each family member should know who’s on their side, because if one of the soldiers turns around and starts shooting their own, they shouldn’t be surprised when their own start shooting back.

Parents...

The greatest gift a child can get are two parents who genuinely love one another.

Not necessarily a romancey-love-you-baby passion, but simply an I-will-be-there-for-you mindfulness.

But such gifts are in short supply. These days, a child learning to understand and accept their parents’ personal problems is the gift of choice.

Trust...

What’s an oddball way to tell someone you don’t trust them?

“I trust you as far as I can throw you, and I can’t even lift you.”

Typos...

Pamphlet printer: “There seems to have been a typo, Mr. Johnson.”

Work commissioner: “A very disreputable and costly one, at that, wouldn’t you say, Mr. Tyron?”

Pamphlet printer: “My apologies, sir. Instead of ‘hers’, the scribe used ‘yours’. The writer has been fired from their position since, I assure you.”

Work commissioner: “Good riddance! Imagine using such a terribly unfortunate word in a sentence that originally read: ‘A woman’s body is hers to do with as she pleases’. It went and gave the patriarchy all the fuel they needed when they read ‘yours’ instead.

Oh Schrödinger...

Friend 1: “Can you tell me in the simplest terms what Schrödinger’s Uncertainty Principle means?”

Friend 2: “Think of it this way… An exit is also simultaneously an entrance, and we may never know which is which, because different people use exits for different reasons.”
*
Friend 1: “How so?”

Friend 2: “Well, for one thing, many of them use exits to run away from people they know. For another, people use exits to secretly enter a building, because exits are often present in places that are away from the public eye.”
*
Friend 1: “It connects, I guess… Schrödinger stating that an electron, or any other particle, can never have its exact position known or even specified at any one time.”

Friend 2: “Yeah, well, just don’t go talking about this in mixed company. Also, when you think about it, this idea also connects to the controversial fact that Light behaves as both a particle and a wave at the same time.”
*
Friend 1: “How do you mean?”

Friend 2: “Think of a revolving door. It lets some people in and lets other people out. At the same time, both kinds of people are using the same door. I figure if doors can do it, why not light?”

Becoming...

In spirituality, becoming part of something bigger than you is called enlightenment.

In the corporate world, it’s called a merger.

And in geo-politics, it’s called a government takeover.

Human Nature & Suicide...

Isn’t it human nature to get up and leave a noisy room, especially if they have nothing to do there? Or if the place has people they don’t wish to meet?

Or if the people are bullies and haters they want to avoid? Or maybe there’s simply too much stress, force, and judgment in the air?

This is why people take their own lives. They wish to leave an inhospitable setting or circumstance.

So, instead of telling such people not to leave the room, maybe it’ll be better to make the room a little less noisy? Perhaps make it a more accommodating place in which they can sit.

Needles In Haystacks...

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe the needle in the haystack doesn’t want to be found?

Maybe it just wants to be left alone. Perhaps it hid in that haystack to find some peace of mind.

TikTok & India....

I always thought TikTok’s customer/user model felt familiar.

Basically, attractive people are lip-syncing to music and tunes sung by famous performers, and dancing to grooves and beats composed by talented musicians.

That’s what Indian movies – from every state, I may add – have been doing for decades! Looks like China has been encroaching on India’s ‘entertainment territory’ as well.

I bet the lawyers are going to have a field day when the grandest compensation case in history gets filed.
