The Girl From Berlin (Book 2)- Ellie Midwood
The Girl from Berlin: Gruppenführer’s Mistress by Ellie Midwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am finally ready to write my review for this book. I read it almost as soon as I got my hands on it. I devoured it. I had no choice but to sink deep into the plot, the minds of the characters and the dark corners of the story. It is tastefully written, with intense twists and turns and driven by the characters.
It is sexy, shocking and dangerous.
Ellie loves writing about big, bad guys and we love reading about them. Keep up the good work Ellie. Very soon you’ll storm your way right to the middle of the literary world and stay there.
Fantastic work!

The Girl from Berlin- Ellie Midwood
The Girl from Berlin by Ellie Midwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
First off, no one writes Anti heroes they way Ellie does. A story of a perfectly ordinary couple in perfectly ordinary surroundings. As perfectly ordinary as it gets when one of you is Jewish and the other one is working for the other Government under the pretext of serving the fuhrer, while in Berlin in the 1940’s.
I was hooked into the story before even the prologue could end. I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, wanting more and at the same time cringing at discovering what ‘more’ had to offer.
The characters are properly developed and know their purpose and role in driving the story forward. The dialogues are cleverly crafted and give the readers enough bait to keep them desperately trying to catch it.
This is the second book of Ellie’s that I’ve read and i can see how much and how well she has grown as a writer. Well done! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Which reminds me, whyyyyyy did you leave it on a cliffhanger!!! I almost couldn’t believe that I had reached the end of the story with so many questions burning a hole in my head.
Having said that, I’m really happy I read this book.

Have You Seen This Girl?- Carissa Ann lynch
Have You Seen This Girl? by Carissa Lynch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
It doesn’t happen very often that I fall short of words while reviewing a book.
But this time around, I’m not so sure. Not because I don’t know what to say, but because I’m afraid my words will not be able to do justice to this novel.
Carissa has done a fabulous job of putting together a story which is the right mixture of Fear, Thrill, Inebriation, Excitement, Exhilaration and Revenge.
Wendi Wise caught my interest from the very beginning. I knew I was excited to see where this story of Murder would take me. When the opening scene showed the heroine desperate for a dose of drugs, I knew this book wasn’t about sunshine and daisies. This was about that lone rose caught up in a storm of thorns, whose rosiness had been blackened by failures and let downs.
My heart went out to the little girl who was betrayed by those she loved, ripped from those who could protect her and trapped by those who had no intention of releasing her. But sometimes, we find trust, faith and even love where we least expect it. People who owe us nothing, come through for us for no selfish motives of their own.
Kudos to the writer for giving us the chance to embark on this rocky journey alongside Wendi and see for ourselves the harsher truths of life. This story shows that it doesn’t matter how many times you fall down. What matters is, you remember that all you have to do is pick yourself up again. Life will knock you down every chance it gets. Just know that you have to strike back harder. Every single time.

What’s it gonna be?- Cassandra Piat
What’s it gonna be?: A romantic comedy set in Mauritius by Cassandra Piat
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is a wonderfully written romantic comedy set in the exotic location of Mauritius. Lucy Evans and her boyfriend of four years have a great life together. They are very much in love and at ease with one another. Lucy is a completely crazy and hilarious woman with friends of every sort imaginable. Her dialogues and habits made me laugh. Matt adores her. He knows her from the inside out and loves her for all of what makes her, her. But is that love enough?
Will he be able to draw the courage to tell her that he wants to make things permanent? Especially since Lucy has obviously started yearning a married life with him.
He is as worried as Lucy is for when push will come to shove, they both know who’s going to back out. Which he does leaving them both alone and understandably sad.
It all comes down to the time apart from each other to know what’s right for them
I loved the author’s writing style, which made this story a very enjoyable read.

Pluviophile is about…
Imagine a stifling hot day, where the sun doesn’t just beat down on your body, but also on your enthusiasm, your spirit. Now, imagine the relief that is brought down by a refreshing shower of cool rain. All your agitation and distress get washed down the drain in this shower, the same time that your lowered spirits and suppressed laughter come barreling to the surface.
That relief, that comfort, that joy, is what Juliet has always felt since she found Max. Life has dealt her a good hand. Max is all she has ever wanted, all she could have ever wanted. What she has failed to realize is that no rain lasts forever, no matter how refreshing. And when it does, out comes the sun. With a vengeance. Although feeble after the brief period for which it lay low, it immediately resumes its journey where it ultimately gets to shine hotter than ever.
If there is no rain, there is no relief. If there is no joy, there is no laughter. And if there is no Max, there is no Juliet. So, how is she to go on now that he is not there? Now that the eternity that he promised to love her for has been mercilessly reduced to a bare minimum?
She has lost him. Him, as well her love for the rain. Now all alone, with just her memories of him, she trudges by, without really being involved in what they call, life. That is until someone comes knocking on her door. Someone she has never met, but has a history with.
Starting over is never easy, but it is at least a little less difficult than being alone. Should she act on her impulse and let this stranger in? Or should she close the door in his face, considering the role he has already played in her once bright and thriving life?
Kolchae (The Annals of Lusiartha #2)- R. Ann Humphries
Kolchae by R. Ann Humphries
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If Sedich was a page turner, then Kolchae is sheer brilliance put on paper. The author is incredibly brave for presenting to the readers an unfiltered face of the society we live in. Kolchae is a work of fiction but it has been constructed on the lines of the harsher truths that we as individuals tend to ignore. There is no sugar coating. There is no going out of the way to make the main league look shiny and flawless. It is a powerful story with the right mix of thrill, heroism, bravery, sacrifice and honor.
You can’t miss this one guys!
Can’t wait to read the final installment.
Grey (Fifty Shades #4)- E.L. James
Grey by E.L. James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved every bit of it. I do hope we get to read the remaining 2/3rds of the trilogy from Christian’s POV too.
