Vandalism Ain’t Activism (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible

Systemic change is a slow and tedious process,
It doesn’t happen overnight by vandalizing society.
If vandalism and activism were one and the same,
Our jungly ancestors would’ve been the ideal humanity.
Change habits, change yourself, submit to no primitivity,
The change that you dream of, be the epitome of that change.
Obstructing traffic and refusing to let an ambulance pass,
You’re not fighting any crisis, but being a crisis yourself.
Go fly a kite, it is good for the mind as well as body,
Get lessons on common sense before appointing yourself king.
The line between activism and terrorism is so thin that,
Often many go astray without having the slightest inkling.
I repeat, systemic change is a slow and tedious process.
The more you rush with recklessness, the more you digress.

Real Human (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible

You are either pro-guns,
or pro-human, you cannot be both.
You are either against abortion,
or pro-life, you cannot be both.
You are either intolerant,
or religious, you cannot be both.
You are either anti-semite,
or sapiens, you cannot be both.
You are either homophobic,
or human, you cannot be both.
You are either islamophobic,
or civilized, you cannot be both.
Tolerating intolerance is sign of an animal.
Integration is what makes humanity human.

Mental Por El Mundo (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Hate is Not Holiness

Mental por el mundo,
Mental por la gente!
Sin mentalidad de servicio,
No podemos seguir adelante.
Some are mental por dinero,
Some are loco por la ropa.
Let them be as they please,
Estoy loco por la humanidad.
A promise was once made,
He asked me to unify the world.
Ever since, I have been on duty,
My life isn’t mine but of the world.
If I fail, you cross off one human.
If I succeed, you witness civilization.

Ethics & Prototype (The Sonnet), More to Technology (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible

“Ethics & Prototypes (The Sonnet)

Take morality out of science and,
All you’ve left is one big conspiracy theory.
Abundance of facts doesn’t make something right,
If it has no regard for the supreme fact of humanity.
Just because we can innovate, doesn’t mean we should,
Science can no more be measured by the query of could.
In future we’ll be able to pre-edit a newborn baby,
But just because we could, doesn’t mean we should.
Only a true scientist will realize the truth in this,
A mind that can look past the pomp into the purpose,
While counterfeit tech giants try to turn the world,
Into a giant lifeless robot made of bolts and nuts.
So better keep radical designs hidden from public eyes.
Some prototypes must never ever be commercialized.”

“More to Technology (The Sonnet)

Some prototypes must never be commercialized,
Not till we learn to look beyond monetary value.
Write some fiction instead without revealing schematics,
If you want the possibility to survive through.
Technology is a stupidly predictable phenomenon,
What one person can imagine another can rig together.
All it takes is an infinite supply of persistence,
Voila – fiction of today turns reality centuries later!
So I say again, ask the question of “should” not “could”,
If you want some tech to bring light not silent regress.
Because once you put the schematics out into the world,
All your brilliance will fall short to undo the damage.
There’s more to technology than startups ‘n entrepreneurship.
Power without responsibility causes disparity not uplift.”

Consent & Manhood (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible

Better deemed a coward than forward,
For there is too much at stake.
Stand ready to wait till infinity,
Without violating her personal space.
She’s not your bonerville,
Until she gives you consent.
Remember, consent is the line,
Between a baboon and a sapiens.
Expose your feeling with your gestures,
Earn her trust without forcing yourself.
Keep your libido down, below your knee,
Till you are asked to strip all restraint.
It is no man that turns a beast at the sight of woman.
Real Man is a father, friend and lover – all in one.

Friends with Darkness (The Sonnet) | Divane Dynamite

Most dread the very notion of dark,
Darkness strikes horror in their heart.
Yet darkness gives me a sense of calm,
I feel quite at home when in dark.
Darkness makes me alive,
Darkness gives me flight.
Darkness makes me aware,
Of the tiniest glint of light.
Darkness electrifies my dampened veins,
It pours back my nerves with vigor.
Just when everything seems to fall apart,
The mind awakens with unforeseen power.
So, never try to keep darkness at bay.
Once befriended darkness takes you a long way.

Sonnet of Unlearning (The Sonnet) | Divane Dynamite

Peace is not a matter of learning harmony,
It’s about unlearning division.
Science is not about learning logic,
It’s about unlearning superstition.
Health is not about learning medicine,
It’s about unlearning over-indulgence.
Justice is not about learning accountability,
It’s about unlearning indifference.
Order is not about learning law,
It’s about unlearning recklessness.
Holiness is not about learning scripture,
It’s about unlearning hatefulness.
More than learning, we got plenty to unlearn.
All of it starts with unsubmission to tradition.

Reason & Fanaticism (The Sonnet) | Sin Dios Sí Hay Divinidad

I feel at home with every faith and ideology,
Unless it’s peddled with bigotry and arrogance.
I bear a clinical revulsion to booze and smoke,
More than that, I am allergic to arrogance.
You cannot reason with a caveman who starts off,
By saying, “my thing is the best because”.
If you could reason with fanaticism,
There wouldn’t be any fanaticism in the world.
Holding on to a belief system is very much human,
But a belief that undermines other beliefs is animal.
Likewise, to sharpen intellect is a good habit unless,
You sharpen it so much that it makes you mechanical.
Maintain a healthy balance between facts and fiction.
Learn to make your head and heart work in unison.

Poetry Writes The Poet (The Sonnet) | Corazon Calamidad

The best poets are the ones,
Who don’t know how to write poetry.
Just like the best scientists are those,
Who practice science as everyday curiosity.
The more you focus on the definition,
The more you lose touch with the essence.
That is why I never know what my work is about,
To explain love is to lose love’s fragrance.
Painting of a landscape is not the landscape itself,
Depiction must never be confused with the depicted.
I don’t know how to do small talk, hence the sonnets.
Poet doesn’t write poetry, poetry writes the poet.
The moment I think I am in control, I lose all control.
Craving no control, the river just nourishes the soul.

Gods by The Hundreds (The Sonnet) | The Peace Testament

Some people fear christ,
Some claim to hear christ.
I work restless day and night,
To raise the living christs.
Some people fear god,
Some claim to be prophets.
I work without sleep and rest,
To raise gods by the hundreds.
One week of my life produces enough electricity,
To power a 100 years of humanitarian endeavor.
One life laid down to lift up the society,
Triggers a wildfire of sacrificial fervor.
I am but an instrument in the making of legends.
I am but a matchstick to light up the sapiens.
