Thus Speaks God (The Sonnet) | Himalayan Sonneteer
Ik onkar, satnaam,
Porque, yo soy insan.
Aham bismillahsmi,
Çünkü, benim adım vicdan.
Sarva dharman parityajya,
Giving up all national grave,
Nos haremos vessels of verdad,
Rise we shall as sapiens brave.
Divinidad está en cada cultura,
But no culture is pure divinity.
Human divided is human undivine,
Hatelessness is civilized divinity.
Thus speaks God in tongue beyond tongues.
One vessel isn’t enough to contain my neurons.

No Pain, No Hope (The Sonnet) | Himalayan Sonneteer
Heavier the pain, greater the hope,
But the language of hope is not inaction.
Real hope brings a sense of responsibility,
Whereas imitation hope induces stagnation.
Heavier the pain, stronger the purpose,
But all purpose is fiction without footwork.
Real purpose does not let you sleep at night,
Imitation purpose keeps you aloof from work.
Crueler the punishment, braver the love,
It is no love that avoids punishment.
Only half lovers try to keep pain at bay,
Soaked in pain true lovers emerge triumphant.
Crazier the torture, sweeter the memories.
There is no character if there is no crisis.

Social Reform 101 (The Sonnet) | Ingan Impossible
Brute force isn’t always the answer,
Sometimes you gotta be clever.
Naivety has its place, it keeps you humble,
Dealing with hyenas you gotta be a dinosaur.
I am not talking about size and appearance,
Appearance never brings any lasting change.
Here I am talking about the faculties within,
For corruption is defeated only by a hearty brain.
The best way to control the manipulator is,
To give them the illusion of control ‘n dominance.
To con the con-artist for the greater good,
Is not an act of con but an act of conscience.
Sentiment is good, but without wisdom it is plain stupid.
An activist fights the system, a reformer manipulates it.

Code for Humanity (The Sonnet) | Corazon Calamidad
There is no such thing as ethical hacking,
If it were ethical they wouldn’t be teaching it.
Because like it or not ethics is bad for business,
They teach hacking so they could use it for profit.
With the right sequence of zeros and ones we could,
Equalize all bank accounts of planet earth tomorrow.
Forget about what glass house gargoyles do with tech,
How will you the human use tech to eliminate sorrow?
In a world full of greedy edisons, be a humble Tesla,
Time remembers no oligarch kindly no matter the status.
Only innovators who get engraved in people’s heart,
Are the ones who innovate with a humane purpose.
Innovate to bridge the gap, not exploit and cater to disparities.
In a world run by algorithms of greed write a code that helps ‘n heals.

Science is Service (The Sonnet) | Corazon Calamidad
Extraordinary technology brings extraordinary recklessness,
Because the human mind hasn’t matured like technology has.
We may have developed technology that defies human limits,
Evolutionary predispositions of the mind haven’t disappeared.
That’s why I say, bigger the power the smaller the mind.
For a wielder without backbone, silicon is but plaything.
Even an ounce of science can do unimaginable harm.
To fathom it you gotta step out of the glare most blinding.
Science ‘n society go together, can’t have one without the other.
Where there is love for science, there is love for society.
If this simple thing doesn’t penetrate the skull of us thickies.
We would be better off without all the scientific glory.
Science is an act of service in the course of lifting all humanity.
Science without accountability is no different from a conspiracy theory.

Civil Liberty (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible
Policy is not the precursor to civil liberty,
Civic duty is the precursor to civil liberty.
If there is no civic duty, there is no civil liberty,
If there is no civic duty, civilians are but catastrophe.
Contrary to unwritten political law of abuse,
Civilians are not the doormats of democracy.
Civilians are the doors, civilians are the buildings,
Civilians are the whole of the social anatomy.
Problem is, it’s more convenient to live life as doormat,
Than take responsibility and turn politicians obsolete.
The war-mongers know this uncivilized tenet of the apes,
Hence they can turn living beings into moronic nationalist.
So I repeat, civic duty is the alpha and omega of civil liberty.
Till we realize this, there is no peace, justice and equality.

Sonnet of Norms | Esperanza Impossible
It is not patriarchal to hold the door for a lady,
It is not cowardly to leave your seat to the elderly.
But it is barbaric to harass a breastfeeding mother,
And prehistoric to force a woman carry a pregnancy.
There are norms that nourish the societal fabric,
Then there are norms out of touch with age and times.
Beyond both freedom and obedience as a whole being,
You ought to realize where and how to draw the lines.
The problem is that most do not know when to rebel,
They rebel out of boredom to seek adventure not justice.
They commit reckless vandalism in the name of activism,
And feel proud while committing the most heinous deeds.
Norms require careful scrutiny, not headless rebellion.
Hence, quite often rebels become the new face of oppression.

Not Evolved For Peace (The Sonnet) | Kafir Biraz, Peygamber Biraz
Human mind has not evolved to find peace,
It has evolved to be anxious, insecure and panic.
In the jungle once you let your guard down,
To the predator you shall end up as dinner meat.
Which means to be at peace and to make peace,
We gotta go against our most natural tendency.
We gotta nourish the feeble spark of civility within,
To transform the norm from cruelty to humanity.
Biologically, cruelty is our first nature,
And that’s where all the trouble begins.
We gotta know we are more animal than human,
To discover ways to tame the animal inklings.
Human mind may not have evolved to be at peace.
But if we are willing to be the civilized anomaly,
slowly but surely we shall foster all necessary peace.
It has evolved to be anxious, insecure and panic.

If Hate is Holiness (The Sonnet) | Kafir Biraz, Peygamber Biraz
Civilization is a civilian in action,
Standing unbent against all charm.
This is called civilized activism,
The will to stand up without harm.
If vandalism were activism,
Insurrection was patriotism.
If Jan 6 is deemed patriotism,
9/11 was divine intervention.
If 9/11 is deemed a divine act,
Hate is but an act of holiness.
If hate is ever deemed holiness,
That is the end of all common sense.
To witness civilization you gotta be civilized.
Even God acting on hate is a being uncivilized.
Standing unbent against all charm.
This is called civilized activism,
The will to stand up without harm.

Insurrection was patriotism.

Love-Abiding Law (The Sonnet) | Esperanza Impossible
Love is the master-key to social troubles,
Law is but an inferior and cheaper stand-in.
Instead of obsessing over cooking up more law,
Let’s shift the focus on loving and caring.
Do you think love is nothing but a commercial object,
With your olympian authority which you can legalize!
Who do you think you are that you’ll legalize order!
You can legalize toys, telephones, not love and light.
Know your place, o puny apes, on a puny little blue dot,
Before standing as authority bearing your badge of law.
There are more things in the vastness of time and space,
Than dreamt up in your paleolithic construct of law.
An ounce of love brings more change than a 100 pounds of law.
What we need is not law-abiding love, but love-abiding law.
