Rationality and Sentimentality | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

I am yet to find a happy computer, despite being the epitome of rationality. Likewise, I am yet to find a civilized animal, despite being the epitome of sentimentality. What this means is that, only with the right balance between rationality and sentimentality there can exist a magical creature called human, brimming with infinite potential – but mess up the balance, and you are stuck with either a cold mechanical world run by rationality or a red-hot uncivilized world run by brutality – both equally unfit for preserving civilized life.

All The World’s An Asylum (Sonnet 1235) | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

All the world’s an asylum,
All the people are lunatics.
Some are but loonies of love,
Some loonies run by prejudice.

Some die running in love of currency,
Some die sharing the currency of love.
Beyond the grasp of dollar and euro,
Love is the only nonvolatile
currency in the world.

It’s good to be a loonie,
If the reason is justly humane.
When human welfare is at stake,
It’s only logical to be insane.

Sane, insane – be as the need arises,
To hell with the judgment of nitwits!
In an organic world no sanity is absolute,
Boldly walk the spectrum as the purpose fits.

I Am My Teacher (Sonnet 1234) | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

I teach myself when I need to learn something,
I correct myself when I make mistakes.
No two year old shaped as 40, 50, 60 or 70,
Has the maturity to provide me moral guidance.

I taught myself electronics when I fell for it,
I taught myself music in my youthful high.
I taught myself languages in sheer obsession,
I taught myself aeronautics when I wanted to fly.

Critics mail, I should add “biggest ego” to my bio,
I thank them all for an astounding revelation.
If I actually behaved befitting my capacity,
Half your legends will lose their reputation.

You only see the tip of the ice-berg,
Fullness of the Himalayas you’ll never see.
I chose to put many of my passions aside,
One path, one mission – one answer to calamity.

Favoritism is Good (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

My favorite language in the world is Turkish,
Because its culture electrifies my scars.
My favorite language in the East is Telugu,
Because its music emboldens my nerves.

My favorite language in the West is Spanish,
Because it teaches me the worth of freedom.
Favorite ancient tongues are Arabic ‘n Sanskrit,
For one embodies peace, another assimilation.

My favorite science of all is electronics,
For it empowers my imagination untainted.
My favorite philosophy is everyday curiosity,
It helps me transcend all sectarian intellect.

My favorite religion in the world is service,
Because it transforms an animal into human.
I don’t care what you believe or don’t,
As long as your behavior speaks compassion.

Favoritism is a civilized faculty,
when practiced beyond blood and border.
Problem is when you see nothing at all,
beyond the rim of your family and culture.

Hypocrisy and Activism | Abhijit Naskar | Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

One thing I hate most in this world, next to arrogance, is hypocrisy. Privileged teenagers hysterically yelling about climate action with no tangible contribution on their part – privileged celebrities flying in private jets, sipping fine wine, while barking about equal pay in a room full of other privileged celebrities – all these ain’t activism, it’s entitled lunacy. When you’re struggling with your last ounce of strength to put food on the table, to keep a roof over your family, and still have some generosity left for your neighbors, that’s the highest form of human rights struggle there is.

The world of justice looks very different depending on which side of disparity you belong to. For the everyday commoner, struggle for human rights is the natural way of life, whereas for privileged egomaniacs, activism is a publicity stunt. Send these entitled bunch of buffoons to labor in the streets of the developing parts of the world, and all their activism will fly out the window.

It’s this simple. Before you start shouting about rights, equality and justice, have the decency and common sense to step out of the lap of privilege and luxury. Remember, there is no difference between a barking dog with golden platter and barking activist with a silver spoon. Struggle in the streets, struggle in the beaches, only then you shall know, what suits the humans, what suits the leeches.

Naskaristan, The Sonnet | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

Where no one cries of hunger,
For neighbor comes before netflix,
No one needs bulletproof backpacks,
For children come before profits,

Where women can pursue their dreams,
Without being castrated by masculinity,
Where a mother can feed her child,
Without attracting prehistoric insecurity,

Where love isn’t chained to archaic texts,
For reform triumphs over rigidity,
Where all colors make the rainbow of life,
For life isn’t chained to no ideology,

Where reason outshines all superstition,
Heartland beyond hateland is Naskaristan.

Humanitarian Nuclear Physics (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

One nuclear warhead contains 9 lbs of plutonium,
Which can electrify 2000 households for a year.
Yet you use that majestic power of atom as pawn,
In your stoneage geopolitical games of fear.

When monkeys crack the mystery of the atom,
Without developing any civilized purpose,
They go blind with the madness of power,
Atom bombs become newage arrows and spears.

Hypnotized by the mindless pursuit of “could”,
Apes rarely ever stop to question if they should!
What good is such science without conscience,
What good is a scientist without a vision for good!

Either atom bombs will be obsolete as bow and arrow,
Or humankind will go extinct like dinosaurs tomorrow.

Space Exploration Ethics 101 | Abhijit Naskar | Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

If we can colonize Mars, we can heal the Earth. But that's not the point here. The point is, we gotta explore space just like we gotta explore anything unknown - but we must do so as humble scientists, not as steroid-pumped, illegitimate offspring of musky retards like Columbus.

We gotta explore space just like we explore the Arctic. Humankind has several outposts in the Arctic, dedicated solely to research - our endeavors into other planets oughta be exactly like that. Otherwise, what starts out as space exploration will soon turn into space imperialism, and will do to other planets what white terrorists have been doing to the indegenous people on earth for ages.

Therefore, focus on space exploration, not on space colonization. Let me put this into perspective. NASA, ISRO, CNSA, ESA, KARI, JAXA (and more) - these represent the real democratic aspirations of humankind's endeavors of curiosity into space, whereas SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic these are the new-age posterboys of space imperialism.

All I say is this, O Brave Explorers of Space - your mission is to explore the universe to facilitate human welfare, not to be some retarded billionaire's backboneless underwear. Beware, I repeat - space exploration doesn't turn into space imperialism!

I looked for love, I found pain | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

“I looked for love,
I found pain.
I avoided pain,
I lost love.

I looked for pain,
I found love.
I accepted pain,
I discovered joy.”

“Aşkı aradım,
Acıları buldum.
Acıları terkettim,
Aşkı kaybettim.

Acıları aradım,
Aşkı buldum.
Acılara sarıldım,
Saadetimi buldum.”

“Buscando amor,
Encontré dolor.
Evitando dolor,
Perdí el amor.

Buscando dolor,
Encontre amor.
Aceptando dolor,
Me levanté amador.”

Art of Linguistics (Sonnet 1223) | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu

No language speaks of freedom better than spanish,
No language speaks of love better than turkish,
No language speaks of oneness better than sanskrit,
No language interprets better than our good ol’ english.

No language speaks to computers better than code,
No language speaks of matter better than physics.
No language speaks of mind better than neurology,
No language speaks pattern better than mathematics.

No language speaks of thought better than philosophy,
No language speaks of emotion better than poetry.
No language speaks of justice better than sociology,
No language speaks of behavior better than psychology.

Purpose of language is communication not argumentation,
If it doesn’t bridge the cliffs it all brings but extinction.
