War Ain’t Peace (The Sonnet)
Hudson, Thames, Nile and Sindhu,
All are now red with the blood of the innocent.
Who is to blame for such catastrophe,
Everybody who accepts arms race as upliftment.
Suited savages have seduced them to believe,
That bigger the military greater the pride.
It’s necessary for politicians to sell nationalism,
Or else their loyal subjects will all get untied.
Acts of national security only breed insecurity,
Which forces people to seek comfort in weapons.
True, lasting stability and serenity of a nation,
Comes only from a universal desire for union.
Let the politicians sell war in the name of peace.
Why must the citizens buy it like rats chasing cheese!

Giants in Jeans Sonnet 76
In the old days tribal chiefs used to fool people,
With talks of tribal honor and heritage.
Today's chiefs in suits manipulate modern tribals,
With talks of national security and lineage.
When our ancestors behaved as tribals,
It is acceptable for they didn't know better.
But when we identify as civilized yet act tribal,
It is but a degrading stain upon our honor.
Though all politicians are not savages,
Paradigm of modern politics thrives on division.
So make not the dreadful mistake to think,
That politicians are gonna bring peace and elevation.
It is a world of citizens, citizens are its lifeblood.
You and I are its caretakers, not some elected vanguard.

Humanitarian Nuclear Physics (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Greatest Country on Earth is Earth
One nuclear warhead contains 9 lbs of plutonium,
Which can electrify 2000 households for a year.
Yet you use that majestic power of atom as pawn,
In your stoneage geopolitical games of fear.
When monkeys crack the mystery of the atom,
Without developing any civilized purpose,
They go blind with the madness of power,
Atom bombs become newage arrows and spears.
Hypnotized by the mindless pursuit of “could”,
Apes rarely ever stop to question if they should!
What good is such science without conscience,
What good is a scientist without a vision for good!
Either atom bombs will be obsolete as bow and arrow,
Or humankind will go extinct like dinosaurs tomorrow.
Which can electrify 2000 households for a year.

Pavlovian Conditioning of Patriotism | Abhijit Naskar | Bulletproof Backbone
Patriotism is primitiveness. Patriotism is the antithesis of world peace - it is the antithesis of acceptance, integration and harmony - in short, patriotism is the ultimate crime against humanity. Let me show you how.
What's the image that comes to your mind, when you hear the word "patriotism"? A soldier with a gun - and where there is a soldier, there is an enemy. And who is that enemy? Usually it's just another soldier from the other side of the border - who has his own children, own spouse, own family at home, and is the symbol of patriotism in his own nation. Now, do you see the absurdity of the whole concept of patriotism! That's how sick this society is - where the only thing that distinguishes patriotism from terrorism is which side of the border bears your feet shackled - borders that are peddled by politicians to maintain control - not security, not peace, but control. Because a world without borders is a world without fear - and it's impossible to control people when they no longer fear each other.
Even if I accept your bogus excuses for war, today we have the technology to fight wars without actually killing people - only reason we don't, is because it's not economical. Life is not economical, death is - peace is not economical, war is. It's far cheaper to kill enemy soldiers than take them prisoner, at the expense of the taxpayer. One bullet costs half a dollar, whereas one prisoner costs thousands per year. So, naturally, preserving life is not the priority, neither is peace. Besides, think of the rush of pride the primitive taxpayers get, from the headlines - "our nations' gallant forces took down several enemy soldiers in a bone-chilling surgical strike!" And more the primitives of a nation are exposed to this kind of blood-boiling headlines, more they get conditioned to believe, that in every war, they are on the right side of justice. World calls it Geopolitics - I call it Pavlovian Conditioning of Patriotism - where the citizen canines of a state are made to believe even the worst of stately atrocity to be just and righteous, by repeated exposure of a patriotic narrative. As I once said, whoever controls the narrative, controls the people. And fear is at the root of it all. Once the citizens conquer their fear and prejudice, and grow up into civilized thinking humans, that'll be the end of state, war and geopolitical tribalism.

How come we can invent better ways to kill each other, but not one to preserve peace! – Abhijit Naskar
Couple of years back I once wrote – how come we can invent better ways to kill each other, but not one to preserve peace! Tracking back the origin of the statement I found out that, it’s not from any of the books, but a part of an introduction to the Memorial Day Sonnet released on my wordpress site.
Anyway, the point is – today that question rings more evident than ever. So, I shall convey it in a few other languages in order to make it more universally organic. Because guess what – even though English is the universal language of earth, due to its primitive colonial escapades, and indeed the most convenient, it is neither the most beautiful nor the most soulful language on earth.
Therefore at this difficult humanitarian moment I say to you once again:
How come we can invent better ways to kill each other, but not one to preserve peace!

Take a fancy celebrity,
put them in military uniform,
suddenly everybody is a patriot.
That’s how primitive this world is,
everybody yells about world peace,
while living in militarist gutter.
The best propaganda is one that,
does not feel like propaganda;
Best way to legally recruit terrorists,
is to portray terrorism as valor.
Best way to sustain the revenues of war,
is to showcase war as peace-intervention.
Till you grow up and denounce all militarism,
don’t you dare call yourself a civilized human!
We scientists, doctors, nurses and teachers,
forget self-preservation for life-preservation,
while primitive civilians of a primitive planet,
throw all that away, hypnotized by patriotism.

Genocide is Patriotism (Sonnet 1634) | Abhijit Naskar | Yüz Şiirlerin Yüzüğü (Ring of 100 Poems, Bilingual Edition): 100 Turkish Poems with Translations
National anthems count for nothing,
when the nations are full of monkeys,
monkeys who keep buying bloodshed,
in the name of national security.
Genocide is patriotism, thus teaches
the textbook of defense and diplomacy.
What else do you expect from legal texts,
concocted by a bunch of stoneage monkeys!
Monkey kill, monkey laugh –
Monkeys are honored with medal!
Airforce, army, navy – so many ways
to maintain status quo of the jungle!
The purpose of every national anthem is to
enforce and maintain a status quo of war.
Show me a human without national pride,
I’ll show you the pathway out of war.
when the nations are full of monkeys,
monkeys who keep buying bloodshed,
in the name of national security.

Ban Bombs, Not Books | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets
Peace is a crime against state, that’s
why patriotism is a glorified quality.
More patriotic the citizens of a nation,
less likely they’ll question warmongery.
Question hate, not harmony.
Ban bombs, not books.
Doubt borders, not benevolence.
Chain the worms, not wombs.
why patriotism is a glorified quality.
More patriotic the citizens of a nation,
less likely they’ll question warmongery.
Question hate, not harmony.
Ban bombs, not books.
Doubt borders, not benevolence.
Chain the worms, not wombs.

Planet of Apes (Real Peace Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator
Stronger the military,
stupider the citizens.
Louder the ammunition,
lousier the education.
Mightier the missiles,
measlier the minds.
Sharper the snipers,
sicklier the spines.
Fuller the magazines,
feebler the veins.
Bolder the bombs,
wobblier the brains.
More titanic the tanks,
more pathetic the primates.
World in trance of arms,
is a planet of the apes.
stupider the citizens.
Louder the ammunition,
lousier the education.
Mightier the missiles,
measlier the minds.
Sharper the snipers,
sicklier the spines.
Fuller the magazines,

Give me a pen, I’ll give you peace (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood
One pen can defeat a thousand guns,
that’s why books get banned, not guns.
There’s nothing more dangerous than
books that radicalize you against war.
When you take away fear from the citizens,
you take away their initiative for war.
And when citizens no longer conform to war,
that’s the biggest threat to political power.
You cannot ask citizens to pay for the bombs,
if they believe more in peace than paranoia.
Stupid taxpayers are the biggest sponsors of war,
patriotism is genocide, military is massacre.
I have zero tolerance for any civilian, politician
or scholar who takes pride in the military –
go back to the jungle, because that’s where you
belong, with the rest of your animal society.
