Mi Humanidad Insiste (The Sonnet)
Mi corazón insiste that I can't sit still,
Till the society is human and thus starts living.
Mi corazón insiste that I can't sleep in peace,
Till I bring out the peace the world holds within.
Mi conciencia insiste that I can't stop walking,
Till I make the fallen rise to make their destiny.
Mi conciencia insiste that I can't stop working,
Till each human extends a hand out in solidarity.
Mi alma insiste that my breath is not my own,
Till I breathe life into the souls lost in misery.
Mi alma insiste that I have no right over my veins,
Till the veins of society are freed from disparity.
Mi humanidad insiste the life of one is the life of all.
Either we are one family or nothing at all.

MCA: Middle Class Activist (The Sonnet)
I don't know the meaning of socialism,
But progress without society is insanity.
I don't know the meaning of capitalism,
But catering to luxury produces disparity.
I don't know the meaning of woke,
But no life is complete without community.
I don't know the meaning of philosophy,
But intellect is useless without amity.
I don't own many fancy gadgets,
Affording essentials I stand without greed.
I'll probably never set foot on MARS,
On earth I'll be serving the abandoned in need.
High and mighty tech won't make this world better,
Till we place humanity at our highest altar.
But progress without society is insanity.
I don't know the meaning of capitalism,
But catering to luxury produces disparity.

The Carnivore (Sonnet 1406) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Doctor: 100 Promissory Sonnets
Be a gentle giant like the elephant,
not an opportunistic carnivore like the wolf.
The elephant doesn’t harm anyone
to prove its greatness, while the wolf
doesn’t think twice to devour another wolf.
Greatness unfolds through gentleness,
Illumination unfolds through expansion.
Coldness is the mark of cowardly animal,
Cruelty is cover for beastly degeneration.
Worst of all carnivores are the humans,
There is no end to their appetite.
Animals no longer partake once they are full,
While human greed knows no sane height.
More clothes, more cars, more cash,
Just how much will you consider enough!
Till you put a cork on cocky abundance,
Not felicity but disparity wreaks havoc.
Savagest carnivore of all is the human.
Uncorked materialism is new cannibalism.
not an opportunistic carnivore like the wolf.
The elephant doesn’t harm anyone
to prove its greatness, while the wolf
doesn’t think twice to devour another wolf.
Greatness unfolds through gentleness,
Illumination unfolds through expansion.
Coldness is the mark of cowardly animal,
Cruelty is cover for beastly degeneration.
Worst of all carnivores are the humans,

Netflix and Genocide (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

Post-apocalyptic world will
never unfold like in the movies,
the post-apocalyptic world already
exists, may be not for you, as you’re
born on the lucky side of privilege –
but that world of drought, flood, famine,
plague and persecution already exists –
the post-apocalyptic world is now,
ten steps from the door of the privileged.
Privilege defines whether
it’s a post-apocalyptic world –
step outside the castle,
and apocalypse is everywhere.
Or you just Netflix and chill,
while human communities crumble!
Apes binge-watch the occupation,
deportation and genocide,
aloof from their smart-castle.

“Proof of the Sapiens is in the sharing.” ― Abhijit Naskar, Sonnets From The Mountaintop

If a 3 pound brain can contain
a 100 billion nerve cells,
a planet with land the size of 20bn stadiums
should have room for 10 billion people.
Then how come, so many
have to survive on so little,
on a planet this size, this rich!
It all comes down to hoarding – if we
cared more about social responsibility
than social etiquette, we wouldn’t have
such drastic paradoxes of disparity.
In English we say:
proof of the pudding is in the eating.
In Naskarian we say:
proof of the Sapiens is in the sharing.
