The Dapper Gentleman: Masculinity and Fashion
In last month’s article I discussed how the apparel people chose to wear is a deeper reflection of who they are. Not just the colors they chose to wear, but the image they’re trying to project, using clothing can help build an identification, or challenge someone’s assumptions. This month’s topic is how to incorporate masculinity into your wardrobe. Whether you’re a man that wants to project a stronger masculine image, or a woman looking to project an image of masculinity there are several accessories and ways to wear them that can achieve that image in a fashionable put together look.Slacks: this is an easy place to start, as most people looking to project a masculine image are not going to opt for the skirt/kilt, dress, or leggings option. While it is definitely possible to look masculine in a kilt, you need to be projecting masculinity in other significant ways to pull that look off. The safest bet is to go with a nice pair of slacks. Color is not important, but stick to dark tones with no pattern. Unless you’re over the age of 70 pleats are right out. Go for fabric that hangs well (meaning there’s a definable line from hip to ankle) and that hugs you in the right places. Whether you’re male or female, opt for a look that shows off your assets. If you have a great butt, make sure the slacks you choose highlight that. If the butt is lacking but you have fantastic legs, look for a pair of slacks that’s more relaxed in the seat with a slightly tapered leg to outline those muscular thighs. Pair a decent pair of slacks with some suspenders to polish off the look. Suspenders allow you to have that put-together look while being able to to swap and customize the outfit with different suspenders. Suspenders are fun because they come in a variety of colors and patterns and can add that touch of personality and customization to your look.
Shoes: While a pair of rugged work boots
is just as sexy as a pair of high polish dress shoes depending on the context, if you’re trying to project that dapper look pair your slacks with matching or complimentary dress shoes. If you want to spring on a really nice pair of shoes that’s always an option, but you can frequently pick up a decent pair at a second hand store and polish them up. Black and brown are always good to have, and you can pair both those colors with nearly any outfit.Top: go with a nice dress shirt
, hopefully something that both buttons up the front and has sleeves. You can always roll your sleeves up for that working man look that is so very hot. Throw your suspenders on top of it, or a snappy waistcoat. Put something around your neck like a tie or cravat (be careful with the latter, as you can come off looking the dandy instead of dapper). Perhaps a hat if you’re the hat wearing type, and you’ve got a look that will melt many a heart.

Lazer Tron and the New Breed
are by far my favorite storyline. Dusty Rhodes being president in 2002 and the New Breed have to stop him and Lazer Tron. Google this shit it's insane.Many of the episodes are not full run time with episodes varying from under 30 minutes to episode as long as 90 minutes. Often the edits happen right in the middle of Jim Cornette talking. Most episodes are not full length. No way of knowing what was edited.The WWE Network is awful of keeping tack of episode you watch. A simple "watched" icon would do wonders. It will sometimes also randomly forget where I was in a episode because FF only causes an error most the time.I get 1-2 errors per episode with most causing me to back out and hit play again. Often it says the content is unavailable to to be available minutes later.No social media. I can't share with my friends and slaves what I'm watching. It's the finest tech 1999 had to offer.Ric Flair
