Coyote Wild

It's here! My critique partner, Rhian Cahill, had a new release hit the shelves at Ellora's Cave today and I just had to give the book a shout-out. I've watched this book evolve from an idea to the story it is today. It's a brilliant book, the second in Rhian's Coyote Hunger series. All the books are brilliant. Check them out if you have some free time this weekend. You won't be sorry you did!

Coyote Wild

Book two in the Coyote Hunger series.

Brogan Wilder knows all about animal urges. As a coyote...

Book Conferences?

So I have to admit, as a reader I'd never considered attending a book conference. It wasn't until I began writing that I started attending these sorts of events. I went to Lori Foster's Reader-Writer Get Together last June and had one of the best times of my life. I also had the opportunity to attend the Romantic Times Conference in April. Again–fantastic experience.

Even though I now go as a writer, I'm probably one of the biggest fan-girls there and I can't for the life of me understand why ...

Meet the Heat – Rhian Cahill

TRS-Ad

This week kicks off a ten-week extravaganza called Meet the Heat. As many of you know, I share a blog and yahoo group with 9 other lovely ladies in the ebook industry. This summer, we thought we'd turn up the heat as we showcase a different member of International Heat each week.

For the first week, we are spotlighting my critique partner, Rhian Cahill. Rhian's books have been published at Ellora's Cave and Noble and she is a fantastic lady and a wonderful writer. Rhian and I have been...

Saturday Snippet

This week's theme is all about Risky Business! One of my earlier books, Retreat, is a romantic suspense novel in which the two heroes accept a dangerous mission in an attempt to put the mistakes of their youth to rest once and for all.

retreat_hiresExcerpt:

"What the hell were you thinking? Taking on this mission." Night scowled at his words and Jon knew his friend didn't appreciate the comment.

"That's funny," Night said. "I'm wondering why the hell you aren't taking on this mission."

Jon ran a frustrated...

What's new!

I've been super busy lately as you can probably tell from my LACK of blogging. Sorry for the lapse. I've actually had a lot of exciting things going on–some I can talk about and some I can't (just yet). Last week was perhaps one of my best weeks EVER in terms of my writing career.

First of all, my Ellora's Cave editor loved Friday I'm in Love and she offered me a contract for book five in the Wild Irish series. I'm very excited about that. I signed the contract and slammed it in the mail...

Well, this week's theme was a toughie! Author's favorite scene. What? Oh my gosh. I had a terrible time picking this. Eventually, I decided to go back to my all-time favorite book, Sugar and Spice. No idea why I love that book so much other than it's just sort of happy story and I will admit if I need a pick-me-up, I go hang out with Travers and Brooks again. It's a friends to lover story and a great deal of the first chapter is flashbacks. I love a good flashback–LOL. Here's one for your...

Woo Hoo! I'm a teacher, so yes, this week's theme speaks deeply to me. SUMMER! Best part about the summer–parties! Woot! Woot! Woot! Bring on the steamy sunshine and red hot excerpts!

BecauseofYou-300

Excerpt from Because of You:

"I can't believe I let you talk me into this," Jessie said as she walked up to the front porch of the huge ranch house. The party she'd been reluctantly dragged to was already in full swing if the blaring music and loud voices coming from inside were any indication.

"You n...

Rekindled

rekindledWell, my editor and I put the finishing touches on Rekindled today. I hope to have an release date sometime within this week. But until then…I thought I'd share the blurb and an excerpt.

Rekindled is a standalone sequel to Spitfire.

It's been a year since her husband's passing, and running the ranch is taking its toll on Claire Hutchins. Independent as the day is long, she concedes the need for help. She wants a foreman, an employee to run the day-to-day who can handle a woman calling the...

This week's theme is one of my favorites–MUSIC! I love music in any form or variety. From folk to rap, show tunes to pop, you'll find it all on my iPod! I try to incorporate music into most of my books because I think songs can evoke feelings and emotions as easily as words. Book two in my Wild Irish series, Ruby Tuesday, delved into the romance between a famous rock star and the folksy singer/songwriter he encounters in her family's bar in Baltimore.
